Chapter: The straightening of the rows is amongst those obligatory and good things which make your As-Salat (the prayer) a correct and perfect one.

Sahih al-Bukhari 722
Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, "The Imam is (appointed) to be followed. So do not differ from him, bow when he bows, and say, "Rabbana-lakal hamd" if he says "Sami`a l-lahu liman hamidah"; and if he prostrates, prostrate (after him), and if he prays sitting, pray sitting all together, and straighten the rows for the prayer, as the straightening of the rows is amongst those things which make your prayer a correct and perfect one.
حضرت ابوہریرہ ؓ سے روایت ہے، وہ نبی ﷺ سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’امام اس لیے بنایا جاتا ہے کہ اس کی اقتدا کی جائے، لہٰذا اس سے اختلاف نہ کرو۔ جب وہ رکوع کرے تو تم بھی رکوع کرو اور جب وہ سمع الله لمن حمده کہے تو تم ربنا لك الحمد کہو۔ جب وہ سجدہ کرے تو تم بھی سجدہ کرو اور جب وہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو سب کے سب بیٹھ کر نماز ادا کرو، نیز نماز میں صفوں کو سیدھا کرو کیونکہ صف کا درست کرنا نماز کی خوبی کا ایک جز ہے۔‘‘
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radiyallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, wo Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se bayan karte hain ke aap ne farmaya: ''Imam is liye banaya jata hai ke is ki iqtada ki jaye, lehaza is se ikhtilaf na karo. Jab wo ruku kare to tum bhi ruku karo aur jab wo Sami Allahu Liman Hamidah kahe to tum Rabbana Lakal Hamd kaho. Jab wo sajda kare to tum bhi sajda karo aur jab wo baith kar namaz parhe to sab ke sab baith kar namaz ada karo, neez namaz mein saffon ko seedha karo kyunke saff ka durust karna namaz ki khubi ka ek juz hai.' '
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَلَا تَخْتَلِفُوا عَلَيْهِ ، فَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا ، وَإِذَا قَالَ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ فَقُولُوا : رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، وَإِذَا سَجَدَ فَاسْجُدُوا ، وَإِذَا صَلَّى جَالِسًا فَصَلُّوا جُلُوسًا أَجْمَعُونَ ، وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّفَّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ إِقَامَةَ الصَّفِّ مِنْ حُسْنِ الصَّلَاةِ .
