Chapter on recitation in the two Rak'ahs of Fajr

باب: القراءة في ركعتي الفجر

Sunan al-Darimi 1480

Sayyida Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite (the Quran) secretly (i.e., not aloud) in these two rak'ahs (units of prayer) and it has been mentioned that he would recite «﴿قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ﴾» (Surah Al-Kafirun) and «﴿قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ﴾» (Surah Al-Ikhlas). Saeed bin Amir said: That is, he would recite them in the two Sunnah rak'ahs of Fajr prayer.

سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا: رسول الله ﷺ ان دو رکعتوں میں جو پڑھتے اسے مخفی رکھتے (یعنی آواز سے نہ پڑھتے) اور ذکر کیا کہ «﴿قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ﴾» اور «﴿قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ﴾» کی قرأت کرتے تھے۔ سعید بن عامر نے کہا: یعنی فجر کی سنتوں میں یہ پڑھتے تھے۔

Sada Aisha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ne kaha: Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) in do rak'aton mein jo parhte usey mukhi rakhte (yani awaz se na parhte) aur zikar kiya ke «Qul ya ayyuhal kafirun» aur «Qul huwal lahu ahad» ki qirat karte thay. Saeed bin Amir ne kaha: yani fajr ki sunnaton mein yeh parhte thay.

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "يُخْفِي مَا يَقْرَأُ فِيهِمَا، وَذَكَرَتْ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ". قَالَ سَعِيدٌ: فِي رَكْعَتَيْ الْفَجْرِ.

Sunan al-Darimi 1481

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Sayyida Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray two light Rak'ahs after the rise of Fajr, and it was a time when I would not be present in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).


Grade: Sahih

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا: سیدہ حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم ﷺ طلوع فجر کے بعد دو ہلکی سی رکعتیں پڑھتے تھے، اور یہ ایسی گھڑی تھی جس میں میں نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضرنہیں ہوتا تھا۔

Sayyidna Ibn Umar razi Allah anhuma ne kaha: Sayyida Hafsa razi Allah anha ne bayan kiya ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) talu fajr ke bad do halki si rakaten parhte the, aur yah aisi ghari thi jis mein main Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir nahin hota tha.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ "يُصَلِّي سَجْدَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا يَطْلُعُ الْفَجْرُ". وَكَانَتْ سَاعَةً لَا أَدْخُلُ فِيهَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Sunan al-Darimi 1482

The Mother of the Believers, Sayyida Hafsa, may Allah be pleased with her, the wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When the Mu'adhdhin finished the Fajr call to prayer and the true dawn had broken, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would pray two light rak'ahs before the congregational prayer began.


Grade: Sahih

ام المؤمنین سیدہ حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا زوجہ نبی ﷺ نے کہا: جب موذن اذان فجر سے خاموش ہوتا اور صبح صادق ہو جاتی تو رسول اللہ ﷺ ہلکی سی دو رکعت جماعت کھڑی ہونے سے پہلے پڑھتے تھے۔

Am ul momineen Sayyida Hafsa raziallahu anha zauja nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kaha: Jab muazzin azan fajr se khamosh hota aur subah sadiq ho jati to Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) halki si do rakat jamaat khari hone se pehle parhte thay.

حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ"إِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ مِنْ أَذَانِ الصُّبْحِ وَبَدَا الصُّبْحُ، صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُقَامَ الصَّلَاةُ".

Sunan al-Darimi 1483

Salim narrated on the authority of his father, Sayyidina Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray two rak'ahs of Sunnah after the Friday prayer. And Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) informed him that when the true dawn (Subh Sadiq) would appear, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would pray two rak'ahs of Sunnah.

سالم نے روایت کیا اپنے والد سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نماز جمعہ کے بعد دو رکعت سنت پڑھتے تھے اور سیدہ حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے انہیں خبر دی کہ جب صبح صادق ہو جاتی تو آپ ﷺ دو رکعت سنت پڑھتے تھے۔

Salam ne riwayat kya apne walid Sayyidna Abdullah bin Umar Radi Allahu anhuma se keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Namaz Juma ke baad do rakat sunnat parhte thay aur Sayyida Hafsa ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ne unhen khabar di keh jab subah sadiq ho jati to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) do rakat sunnat parhte thay.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ "يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ". وَأَخْبَرَتْهُ حَفْصَةُ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ "يُصَلِّي إِذَا أَضَاءَ الصُّبْحُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ"..
