Sunan al-Darimi 2191
Our master, the son of Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: “While I was sleeping, a glass of milk was brought to me. I drank from it until I saw the satisfaction and freshness coming out from my nails, then I gave the rest of it to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).” The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: “What interpretation did you derive from it, O Messenger of Allah?”. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “[The interpretation of it is] knowledge.”

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا: میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: ”جس وقت کہ میں سویا ہوا تھا کہ میرے پاس ایک دودھ کا پیالہ لایا گیا۔ میں نے اس سے خوب دودھ پیا یہاں تک کہ میں نے دیکھا سیرابی و تازگی میرے ناخنوں سے نکل رہی ہے، پھر میں نے اپنا بچا ہوا دودھ (سیدنا) عمر (رضی اللہ عنہ) کو دے دیا۔“ صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم نے پوچھا: آپ نے اس کی کیا تعبیر لی؟ فرمایا: ”علم اس کی تعبیر ہے۔“
Sayidna Ibn Umar RA ne kaha: mein ne Nabi Kareem SAW ko farmate huye suna: “Jis waqt ke mein soya hua tha ke mere paas ek doodh ka piala laya gaya. Mein ne is se khoob doodh piya yahan tak ke mein ne dekha serabi o tazgi mere nakhunon se nikal rahi hai, phir mein ne apna bacha hua doodh (Sayidna) Umar (RA) ko de diya.” Sahaba RAh ne poocha: Aap ne is ki kya tabeer li? Farmaya: “Ilm is ki tabeer hai.”
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ، إِذْ أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ، حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَرَى الرِّيَّ فِي ظُفْرِي أَوْ قَالَ: فِي أَظْفَارِي، ثُمَّ نَاوَلْتُ فَضْلَهُ عُمَرَ"، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَا أَوَّلْتَهُ؟ قَالَ:"الْعِلْمَ".
