Sunan al-Darimi 2333
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidah Aisha Radi Allahu Anha that the Holy Prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said: "The pen has been lifted from three people (i.e., they are not held accountable for their deeds): the sleeper until he wakes up, the child until he reaches puberty, and the insane until he regains his sanity." In another narration, Hammad said "afflicted with madness" instead of "insane," the meaning of both is the same, meaning mad or insane, until he regains his sanity.

سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”تین اشخاص سے قلم اٹھا دی گئی ہے (یعنی ان کی نیکی بدی پر مواخذہ نہیں) سونے والے سے جاگنے تک، بچے سے بالغ ہونے تک، اور دیوانے سے جب تک اس کو عقل نہ آئے۔“ حماد نے دوسری روایت میں مجنوں کے بجائے معتوہ کہا ہے، معنی دونوں کا ایک ہے، یعنی پاگل یا دیوانہ، یہاں تک کہ اس کو عقل آ جائے۔
Sada Aisha raziallahu anha se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Teen ashkhas se qalam utha di gai hai (yani in ki neki buri par moakhza nahi) sone wale se jagne tak, bache se baligh hone tak, aur deewane se jab tak is ko aql na aaye. Hamad ne dusri riwayat mein majnoon ke bajaye matuha kaha hai, mani dono ka ek hai, yani pagal ya deewana, yahan tak ke is ko aql aa jaye.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ: "رُفِعَ الْقَلَمُ عَنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ: عَنِ النَّائِمِ حَتَّى يَسْتَيْقِظَ، وَعَنِ الصَّغِيرِ حَتَّى يَحْتَلِمَ، وَعَنِ الْمَجْنُونِ حَتَّى يَعْقِلَ". وَقَدْ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ أَيْضًا:"وَعَنْ الْمَعْتُوهِ حَتَّى يَعْقِلَ".
