Sunan al-Darimi 47
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that Allah Almighty granted Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, superiority over all the Prophets, peace be upon them, and the inhabitants of the heavens. People asked: "O son of Abbas! How did He grant superiority over the inhabitants of the heavens?" He replied: "Allah Almighty said to the inhabitants of the heavens: 'Whoever among you says that there is any deity worthy of worship besides Allah, We will punish him with the punishment of Hellfire. Thus do We punish the wrongdoers.'" [Al-Anbiya: 29/21] (Meaning, despite their greatness, they would have ended up in Hell). And Allah Almighty said to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: "O Prophet! Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory. So that Allah may forgive for you your sins, those of the past and those of the future." [Al-Fath: 2,1/48] (Meaning, whatever you do, all your past and future sins are forgiven, you will not be held accountable). They asked: "Then what is your superiority over all the Prophets?" He replied: "Allah Almighty said: 'And We sent not a Messenger except with the language of his people, in order that he might make (the Message) clear for them.'" [Ibrahim: 4/14] And Allah Almighty said to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: "And We have not sent you but as a mercy to all the worlds." [Saba: 28/34] So your Prophethood is for all jinn and mankind.

سیدنا عبداللہ عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ اللہ تعالی نے محمد ﷺ کو تمام انبیاء علیہم السلام اور آسمان والوں پر فضیلت عطا کی، لوگوں نے پوچھا: اے عباس کے بیٹے! آسمان والوں پر کیسی فضیلت عطا فرمائی۔ انہوں نے جواب دیا: اللہ تعالی نے آسمان میں رہنے والوں کے لئے فرمایا: ”ان میں سے کوئی بھی کہدے کہ اللہ کے سوا میں عبادت کے لائق ہوں تو ہم اسے دوزخ کی سزا دیں گے، ہم ظالموں کو اسی طرح سزا دیتے ہیں۔“ [الأنبياء: 29/21] (یعنی بزرگی کے باوجود وہ جہنم رسید ہوں گے) اور محمد رسول اللہ ﷺ کے لئے اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ فرمایا: ”اے نبی! بے شک ہم نے آپ کو ایک ظاہر فتح دی ہے تاکہ جو کچھ تیرے گناہ آگے کئے ہوئے اور جو پیچھے رہے اللہ تعالی معاف فرما دے۔“ [الفتح: 2،1/48] (یعنی آپ جو بھی کریں اگلے پچھلے سب گناہ معاف ہیں، آپ ﷺ کا کوئی مواخذہ نہ ہو گا)۔ انہوں نے کہا: پھر تمام انبیاء پر آپ کی کیا فضیلت ہے؟ جواب دیا: اللہ تعالی نے فرمایا: ”ہم نے ہر نبی کو اس کی قومی زبان میں ہی بھیجا ہے تاکہ ان کے سامنے وضاحت سے بیان کر دے۔“ [ابراهيم: 4/14] اور محمد ﷺ کے لئے اللہ تعالی نے فرمایا: ”ہم نے آپ کو تمام لوگوں کے لئے بھیجا ہے۔“ [سبا: 28/34] پس آپ کی رسالت تمام جن و انسان کے لئے ہے۔
Sayyiduna Abdullah Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Allah Ta'ala ne Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko tamam ambiya Alayhimussalam aur aasman walon per fazilat ata ki, logon ne pucha: Aye Abbas ke bete! Aasman walon per kaisi fazilat ata farmai. Unhon ne jawab diya: Allah Ta'ala ne aasman mein rehne walon ke liye farmaya: ”In mein se koi bhi kahde ki Allah ke siwa main ibadat ke layak hun to hum use dozakh ki saza denge, hum zalimon ko isi tarah saza dete hain.“ [Al-Anbiya: 29/21] (Yaani buzрги ke bawajood woh jahannam raseed honge) aur Muhammad Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke liye Allah Ta'ala ne ye farmaya: ”Aye Nabi! Be shak hum ne aap ko ek zahir fatah di hai taake jo kuchh tere gunah aage kiye huye aur jo peechhe rahe Allah Ta'ala ma'af farma de.“ [Al-Fath: 2,1/48] (Yaani aap jo bhi karen agle pichhle sab gunah ma'af hain, aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka koi muakhiza na ho ga). Unhon ne kaha: Phir tamam ambiya per aap ki kya fazilat hai? Jawab diya: Allah Ta'ala ne farmaya: ”Hum ne har nabi ko us ki qaumi zaban mein hi bheja hai taake un ke samne wazahat se bayan kar de.“ [Ibrahim: 4/14] aur Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke liye Allah Ta'ala ne farmaya: ”Hum ne aap ko tamam logon ke liye bheja hai.“ [Saba: 28/34] Pas aap ki risalat tamam jinn o insaan ke liye hai.
(حديث قدسي) أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: "إِنَّ اللَّهَ فَضَّلَ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّي اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْأَنْبِيَاءِ عَلَيْهِمْ السَّلامُ وَعَلَى أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ، فَقَالُوا: يَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، بِمَ فَضَّلَهُ عَلَى أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ؟، قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَالَ لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ وَمَنْ يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي إِلَهٌ مِنْ دُونِهِ فَذَلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ سورة الأنبياء آية 29، وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى لِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُبِينًا {1} لِيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ سورة الفتح آية 1-2، قَالُوا: فَمَا فَضْلُهُ عَلَى الْأَنْبِيَاءِ عَلَيْهِمْ السَّلامُ؟ قَالَ: قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ سورة إبراهيم آية 4، وَقَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلا كَافَّةً لِلنَّاسِ سورة سبأ آية 28، فَأَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ".
