Sahih Ibn Hibban 797
Zirr reported: I said to Ubayy ibn Ka'b that Ibn Mas'ud did not write al-Mu'awwidhatayn (Surat al-Falaq and Surat an-Nas) in his Mushaf. He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, 'Gabriel said to me, "Say: 'I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak," so I recited it. And he said, "Say: 'I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind,'" so I recited it."'" Ubayy said, "So we only say that which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said."
زر نے بیان کیا : میں نے ابی بن کعب سے کہا کہ ابن مسعود نے اپنے مصحف میں المعوذتین (سورۃ الفلق اور سورۃ الناس) نہیں لکھیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مجھ سے فرمایا : ’’جبریل علیہ السلام نے مجھ سے کہا : ’’کہو : ’’قل اعوذ برب الفلق‘‘ میں نے پڑھ لیا۔ پھر کہا کہو : ’’قل اعوذ برب الناس‘‘ میں نے پڑھ لیا۔‘‘ ابی نے کہا : ہم تو وہی کہتے ہیں جو ہمیں رسول اللہ ﷺ نے کہا ہے۔
Zar ne bayan kya: Main ne Ubayy bin Ka'b se kaha ke Ibn Masud ne apne mushaf mein al-Mu'awwidhatain (Surat al-Falaq aur Surat al-Nas) nahin likhin. Unhon ne kaha ke Rasul Allah ﷺ ne mujh se farmaya: ''Jibra'il Alaihissalam ne mujh se kaha: ''Kaho: 'Qul a'udhu bi rabbil-falaq'' Main ne parh liya. Phir kaha kaho: ''Qul a'udhu bi rabbin-nas'' Main ne parh liya.'' Ubayy ne kaha: Hum to wohi kahte hain jo hamen Rasul Allah ﷺ ne kaha hai.
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ إِنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ لَا يَكْتُبُ فِي مُصْحَفِهِ الْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قَالَ لِي جِبْرِيلُ {قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ} فَقُلْتُهَا وَقَالَ لِي {قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ} فَقُلْتُهَا» فَنَحْنُ نَقُولُ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ
