Chapter: Concerning the urine of an infant boy who is not yet eating solid food

باب مَا جَاءَ فِي بَوْلِ الصَّبِيِّ الَّذِي لَمْ يَطْعَمْ

Sunan Ibn Majah 522

It was narrated that Lubabah bint Harith (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said : 'Husain bin Ali ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) urinated in the lap of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and I said : 'O Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), give me your garment and put on another garment.' He said : 'Water should be sprinkled on the urine of a baby boy, and the urine of a baby girl should be washed away.'

لبابہ بنت الحارث رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ حسین بن علی رضی اللہ عنہما نے نبی اکرم ﷺ کی گود میں پیشاب کر دیا، تو میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ مجھے اپنا کپڑا دے دیجئیے اور دوسرا کپڑا پہن لیجئیے ( تاکہ میں اسے دھو دوں ) ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: بچے کے پیشاب پہ پانی چھڑکا جاتا ہے، اور بچی کے پیشاب کو دھویا جاتا ہے ۔

Labaaba bint al-Harith radiyallahu anha kehti hain ke Husain bin Ali ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne Nabi Akram sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallam ki god mein peshab kar diya, to maine arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! Aap mujhe apna kapra de dejiye aur dusra kapra pehan lejiye (taka mein isse dho dun), Aap sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: bache ke peshab pe pani chharka jata hai, aur bachi ke peshab ko dhoya jata hai

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَابُوسَ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُخَارِقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْلُبَابَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ بَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ فِي حِجْرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَعْطِنِي ثَوْبَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْبَسْ ثَوْبًا غَيْرَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا يُنْضَحُ مِنْ بَوْلِ الذَّكَرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُغْسَلُ مِنْ بَوْلِ الْأُنْثَى .

Sunan Ibn Majah 523

It was narrated that Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ هللا تعالی عنہا) said a baby boy was brought to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) who then urinated on him. He sprinkled over it with water and did not wash it.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ کے پاس ایک بچہ لایا گیا، اس نے آپ کے اوپر پیشاب کر دیا، آپ نے اس پر صرف پانی بہا لیا، اور اسے دھویا نہیں

ummul momineen ayesha radhiallahu anha kehti hain ke nabi akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pas ek baccha laya gaya, is ne aap ke oopar peshab kar diya, aap ne is par sirf pani baha liya, aur isse dhoya nahi

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِصَبِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَبَالَ عَلَيْهِ فَأَتْبَعَهُ الْمَاءَ وَلَمْ يَغْسِلْهُ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 524

It was narrated that Umm Qais bint Mihsan (رضي الله تعالى عنها) said, she came to the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) with one of her sons who was not yet eating solid food, and he (the baby) urinated on him. He called for water and sprinkled it over (the urine).'

ام قیس بنت محصن رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میں اپنے ایک شیرخوار بچے کو لے کر رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئی، اس نے آپ کے اوپر پیشاب کر دیا، آپ نے پانی منگوا کر اس پر چھڑک دیا۔

Umme Qais bint Mahsan ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) kehti hain ke main apne ek sheerkhawar bache ko le kar Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir hui, is ne aap ke upar peshab kar diya, aap ne pani mangwa kar is par chhadak diya.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ دَخَلْتُ بِابْنٍ لِي عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَأْكُلِ الطَّعَامَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَبَالَ عَلَيْهِ فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَرَشَّ عَلَيْهِ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 525

It was narrated from Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said concerning the urine of a nursing infant : 'Water should be sprinkled over the urine of a boy, and the urine of a girl should be washed.' Abul Hasan bin Salamah said : "Ahmad bin Musa bin Ma'qil narrated to us that Abul Yaman Al-Misri said : 'I asked Shafi'i about the Hadith of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), "Water should be sprinkled over the urine of a baby boy, and the urine of a baby girl should be washed,' when the two types of water (urine) are the same. He said, 'This is because the urine of the boy is of water and clay, but the urine of the girl is of flesh and blood.' Then he said to me : 'Did you understand?' I said : 'No.' He said : 'When Allah the Most High created Adam, He created Eve (Hawwa') from his short rib, so the boy's urine is from water and clay, and the girl's urine is from flesh and blood.' Then he said to me : 'Did you understand?' I said : 'Yes.' He said : 'May Allah cause you benefit from this.'

علی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے شیرخوار بچے کے پیشاب کے بارے میں فرمایا: بچے کے پیشاب پہ چھینٹا مارا جائے، اور بچی کا پیشاب دھویا جائے ۔

Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se Riwayat hai ke Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Shirkhwar Bache ke Peshab ke Bare mein Farmaya: Bache ke Peshab pe Chhinta Mara Jaye, aur Bachi ka Peshab Dhwaya Jaye.

حَدَّثَنَا حَوْثَرَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي حَرْبِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ الدِّيلِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي بَوْلِ الرَّضِيعِ:‏‏‏‏ يُنْضَحُ بَوْلُ الْغُلَامِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُغْسَلُ بَوْلُ الْجَارِيَةِ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 526

Abu Samh narrated that he was a servant of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), and (infant) Hasan and Husain (رضي الله تعالى عنهما) were brought to him and (one of the infant) urinated on his chest. They wanted to wash it, but the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said : 'Sprinkle water on it, for the urine of a girl should be washed, but the urine of a boy should be sprinkled over with water.'

ابوسمح رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نبی اکرم ﷺ کا خادم تھا، آپ کے پاس حسن یا حسین کو لایا گیا، انہوں نے آپ ﷺ کے سینے پر پیشاب کر دیا، لوگوں نے اسے دھونا چاہا، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: اس پر پانی چھڑک دو، اس لیے کہ بچی کا پیشاب دھویا جاتا ہے اور بچے کے پیشاب پہ چھینٹا مارا جاتا ہے ۔

Abu Sumah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka khadim tha, aap ke pass Hasan ya Hussain ko laya gaya, unhon ne aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sine par peshab kar diya, logon ne use dhona chaha, aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: is par pani chhork do, is liye ke bachi ka peshab dhoya jata hai aur bache ke peshab pe chhentia mara jata hai.

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَمُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَالْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحِلُّ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو السَّمْحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ خَادِمَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجِيءَ بِالْحَسَنِ أَوْ الْحُسَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَبَالَ عَلَى صَدْرِهِ فَأَرَادُوا أَنْ يَغْسِلُوهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ رُشَّهُ فَإِنَّهُ يُغْسَلُ بَوْلُ الْجَارِيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُرَشُّ عَلَى بَوْلِ الْغُلَامِ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 527

It was narrated from Umm Kurz (رضي الله تعالى عنها) that the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said : 'The urine of a boy should be sprinkled over and the urine of a girl should be washed.'

ام کرز رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: بچے کے پیشاب پہ چھینٹا مارا جائے، اور بچی کا پیشاب دھویا جائے ۔

Um Krz ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) Se Riwayat Hai Ke Rasool Allah SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM Ne Farmaya: Bachay Kay PeshAb Pe ChheenTa Mara Jaye, Aur Bachi Ka PeshAb Dhoya Jaye

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَوْلُ الْغُلَامِ يُنْضَحُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبَوْلُ الْجَارِيَةِ يُغْسَلُ .
