Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 1361
Hazrat Urwa bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from Marwan bin Hakam that he asked Sayyidina Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Have you prayed Salat al-Khawf (prayer of fear) with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" Sayyidina Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Yes." He asked, "When?" He said, "In the year of the Battle of Najd. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up for the Asr prayer and one group stood with you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while the other group stood facing the enemy, their backs towards the Qibla. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said 'Allahu Akbar', so all the people said 'Allahu Akbar' and started the prayer, those who were standing with you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and those who were facing the enemy. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered one rak'ah and the group with him also offered one rak'ah. Then you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the group near you prostrated, while the other group remained in line facing the enemy. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and your nearby row stood up. Then they went to face the enemy, and the group that was facing the enemy came and performed the bowing (ruku') and the two prostrations (sujud) while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was still standing. Then they stood up, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the second rak'ah, so they also performed the bowing and prostration with him. Then the group that was standing in front of the enemy came and performed the second bowing and prostration (on their own), while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions (the first group) remained sitting. Then they offered the Salam, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and all the people offered the Salam together. Thus, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) completed two rak'ahs and each person from both groups also completed two rak'ahs."

حضرت عروہ بن زبیر رحمه الله مردان بن حکم سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ اُس نے سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے سوال کیا، کیا آپ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز خوف پڑھی ہے؟ سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ ہاں۔ اُس نے دریافت کیا کہ کب؟ تو اُنہوں نے فرمایا کہ غزوہ نجد والے سال پڑھی تھی، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز عصر کے لئے کھڑے ہوئے اور ایک گروہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ کھڑا ہو گیا، جبکہ دوسرا گروہ دشمن کے سامنے کھڑا تھا، اُن کی پُشتیں قبلہ کی طرف تھیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے «اللهُ أَكْبَرُ» کہا، تو تمام لوگوں نے «اللهُ أَكْبَرُ» کہہ کر نماز شروع کرلی، جو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ کھڑے تھے اُنہوں نے بھی اور جو دشمن کے سامنے تھے اُنہوں نے بھی۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک رکعت پڑھی اور آپ کے ساتھ والے گروہ نے بھی ایک رکعت ادا کی، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اور آپ کے قریبی گروہ نے سجدے کیے، جبکہ دوسرا گروہ دشمن کے سامنے صف آرا تھا پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور آپ کی قریبی صف کھڑی ہوگئی۔ تو وہ دشمن کے مقابلے میں چلے گئے۔ اور وہ گروہ آگیا جو دشمن کے سامنے صف آراء تھا تو اُنہوں نے رکوع کیا اور (دو) سجدے بھی کرلیے جبکہ اس دوران رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بدستور کھڑے تھے۔ پھر وہ کھڑے ہو گئے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دوسری رکعت پڑھی تو اُنہوں نے بھی آپ کے ساتھ رکوع کیا اور سجدے کیے، پھر وہ گروہ آگیا جو دشمن کے سامنے کھڑا تھا، تو اُنہوں نے (خود ہی) دوسرا رکوع اور سجدے کرلیے، جبکہ اس دوران میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور آپ کے ساتھی (پہلا گروہ) بیٹھے رہے، پھر سلام پھیرا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور تمام لوگوں نے اکٹھے سلام پھیرا۔ اس طرح رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی دو رکعات ہوگئیں اور دونوں گروہوں کے ہر شخص کی بھی دو دو رکعات ہوگئیں۔
Hazrat Urwa bin Zubair rehmatullah Mardaan bin Hakam se bayan karte hain ke usne Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu se sawal kiya kya aap ne Nabi Kareem sallallahu alaihi wasallam ke sath Namaz Khauf parhi hai Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu ne farmaya ke haan usne daryaft kiya ke kab to unhon ne farmaya ke Ghazwa Najd wale saal parhi thi Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam Namaz Asr ke liye khade hue aur ek giroh aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ke sath khara ho gaya jabke dusra giroh dushman ke samne khara tha unki pushten qibla ki taraf thin Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne Allahu Akbar kaha to tamam logon ne Allahu Akbar keh kar Namaz shuru karli jo aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ke sath khade the unhon ne bhi aur jo dushman ke samne the unhon ne bhi phir Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne ek rakat parhi aur aap ke sath wale giroh ne bhi ek rakat ada ki phir aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne aur aap ke qareebi giroh ne sajday kiye jabke dusra giroh dushman ke samne saf ara tha phir Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam aur aap ki qareebi saf khari ho gayi to wo dushman ke muqable mein chale gaye aur wo giroh aa gaya jo dushman ke samne saf ara tha to unhon ne ruku kiya aur do sajday bhi kar liye jabke is dauran Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ba dastoor khade the phir wo khade ho gaye to Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne dusri rakat parhi to unhon ne bhi aap ke sath ruku kiya aur sajday kiye phir wo giroh aa gaya jo dushman ke samne khara tha to unhon ne khud hi dusra ruku aur sajday kar liye jabke is dauran mein Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam aur aap ke sathi pehla giroh baithe rahe phir salaam phera Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam aur tamam logon ne ek sath salaam phera iss tarah Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ki do rakaten ho gayin aur donon girohon ke har shakhs ki bhi do do rakaten ho gayin
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَسْوَدِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ : هَلْ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلاةَ الْخَوْفِ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: مَتَى؟ قَالَ: " كَانَ عَامَ غَزْوَةِ نَجْدٍ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِصَلاةِ الْعَصْرِ، وَقَامَتْ مَعَهُ طَائِفَةٌ وَطَائِفَةٌ أُخْرَى مُقَابِلَ الْعَدُوِّ، ظُهُورُهُمْ إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ، فَكَبَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَبَّرُوا مَعَهُ جَمِيعًا الَّذِينَ مَعَهُ، وَالَّذِينَ يُقَابِلُونَ الْعَدُوَّ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَةً وَاحِدَةً، وَرَكَعَ مَعَهُ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي تَلِيهِ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ وَسَجَدَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي تَلِيهِ، وَالآخَرُونَ قِيَامٌ مِمَّا يَلِي الْعَدُوَّ، ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَامَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي تَلِيهِ فَذَهَبُوا إِلَى الْعَدُوِّ فَقَابَلُوهُمْ، وَأَقْبَلَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي كَانَتْ مُقَابِلَ الْعَدُوِّ، فَرَكَعُوا وَسَجَدُوا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَائِمٌ كَمَا هُوَ، ثُمَّ قَامُوا فَرَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَةً أُخْرَى، فَرَكَعُوا مَعَهُ وَسَجَدُوا مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي كَانَتْ مُقَابِلَ الْعَدُوِّ فَرَكَعُوا وَسَجَدُوا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاعِدٌ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ كَانَ السَّلامُ فَسَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَلَّمُوا جَمِيعًا، فَكَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَانِ، وَلِكُلِّ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَانِ، رَكْعَتَانِ"
