Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 1448
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to deliver the sermon while standing and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would sit down between the two sermons. Also, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would recite verses from the Holy Quran (during the sermon), and his sermon used to be of moderate length, and his (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayer was also of moderate length. In the narration of Janab Hasan, it is mentioned that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite verses from the Holy Quran while standing on the pulpit during the sermon.

سیدنا جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہو کر خطبہ فرماتے تھے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم دو خطبوں کے درمیان بیٹھ جاتے تھے، نیز آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم (خطبہ میں) قرآن مجید کی آیات تلاوت کرتے تھے، اور آپ کا خطبہ درمیانہ ہوتا تھا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی نماز بھی درمیانی ہوتی تھی۔ جناب حسن کی روایت میں ہے کہ اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خطبہ میں منبر پر قرآن مجید کی آیات پڑھتے تھے۔
Sayyidna Jabir bin Samura RA se riwayat hai ki Nabi Kareem SAW khare ho kar khutba farmate thay aur aap SAW do khutbon ke darmiyan baith jate thay, neez aap SAW (khutba mein) Quran Majeed ki ayat tilawat karte thay, aur aap ka khutba darmiyana hota tha aur aap SAW ki namaz bhi darmiyani hoti thi. Janab Hasan ki riwayat mein hai ki aur aap SAW khutba mein mimbar par Quran Majeed ki ayat parhte thay.
نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَسَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ الْحَسَنُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا، وَيَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ الْخُطْبَتَيْنِ وَيَتْلُو آيَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ، وَكَانَتْ خُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا، وَصَلاتُهُ قَصْدًا" ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ، قَالَ: وَكَانَ يَتْلُو عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ آيَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ
