Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 1636
Aswad narrated that he and 'Alqama went to Ibn Mas'ud and he asked, "Did those people (meaning the rulers) offer the prayer and you (joined them) for it?" We said, "No." He said, "Get up and offer the prayer (for the prayer time is over)." So we got up intending to stand behind him. He took hold of our hands and made one of us stand on his right and the other on his left and offered the prayer without Adhan and Iqama. When he bowed, he joined his fingers and placed them between his knees. When he finished the prayer, he said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) doing like this." He then said, "Verily, there will be rulers who will delay and shorten the prayers to the extent that a dying person remains alive after his breath reaches the throat. So, whoever among you finds that state of affairs, he should offer his prayer on time and consider his prayer with them (the rulers) as Nafl."

جناب اسود بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں اور علقمہ، سیدنا ابن مسعود کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے، تو اُنہوں نے پوچھا، کیا تمہارے پیچھے ان (امراء) لوگوں نے نماز پڑھ لی ہے؟ ہم نے عرض کی کہ نہیں۔ اُنہوں نے فرمایا کہ تم اُٹھو اور نماز پڑھ لو (کیونکہ نماز کا وقت ہوچکا ہے) تو ہم نے اُٹھ کر ان کے پیچھے کھڑے ہونا چاہا تو اُنہوں نے ہمارے ہاتھ پکڑ کر ہم میں سے ایک کو اپنی دائیں جانب اور دوسرے کو بائیں جانب کھڑا کرلیا، پھر بغیر اذان اور اقامت کے نماز پڑھائی - جب اُنہوں نے رکوع کیا تو اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں کی انگلیوں کو ایک دوسری میں ڈال کر دونوں ٹانگوں کے درمیان رکھ لیا۔ پھر جب نماز ادا کرلی تو فرمایا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اسی طرح کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔ پھر فرمایا کہ یقیناً عنقریب ایسے حکمران ہوں گے جو نمازوں کو اس وقت تک مؤخر اور تنگ کریں گے، جس قدر مرنے والا شخص گلے میں سانس اٹکنے کے بعد زندہ رہتا ہے - لہٰذا تم میں سے جو شخص ان حالات کو پائے تو وہ نماز کو اس کے وقت پر ادا کرے پھر ان حکمرانوں کے ساتھ اپنی نماز کو نفل بنا لے ـ
Janab Aswad bayan karte hain ke mein aur Alqama, Sayyidina Ibn Masood ki khidmat mein hazir hue, to unhon ne poocha, kya tumhare peeche in (umara) logon ne namaz parh li hai? Hum ne arz ki ke nahin. Unhon ne farmaya ke tum utho aur namaz parh lo (kyunke namaz ka waqt ho chuka hai) to hum ne uth kar un ke peeche khara hona chaha to unhon ne humare hath pakar kar hum mein se ek ko apni dayen janib aur doosre ko bayen janib khara kar liya, phir baghair azaan aur iqamat ke namaz parhai - jab unhon ne rukooh kiya to apne donon hathon ki ungliyon ko ek doosri mein daal kar donon taango ke darmiyan rakh liya. Phir jab namaz ada kar li to farmaya ke mein ne Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko isi tarah karte hue dekha hai. Phir farmaya ke yaqinan anqareeb aise hukmaran honge jo namaazon ko us waqt tak moakhir aur tang karenge, jis qadar marne wala shakhs gale mein saans atakne ke baad zinda rehta hai - lihaza tum mein se jo shakhs in halat ko paye to wo namaz ko us ke waqt par ada kare phir in hukmaranon ke sath apni namaz ko nafl bana le -
أنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَعَلْقَمَةُ عَلَى ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، فَقَالَ: أَصَلَّى هَؤُلاءِ خَلْفَكُمْ؟ قُلْنَا: لا. قَالَ: فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا، فَذَهَبْنَا لِنَقُومَ خَلْفَهُ، فَأَخَذَ بِأَيْدِينَا وَأَقَامَ أَحَدَنَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، وَالآخَرَ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ، فَصَلَّى بِغَيْرِ أَذَانٍ وَلا إِقَامَةٍ، فَجَعَلَ إِذَا رَكَعَ يُشَبِّكُ أَصَابِعَهُ، وَجَعَلَهَا بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى، قَالَ: كَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ يُمِيتُونَ الصَّلاةَ، يَخْنِقُونَها إِلَى شَرَقِ الْمَوْتَى، فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ، فَلْيُصَلِّ الصَّلاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا، وَلْيَجْعَلْ صَلاتَهُ مَعَهُمْ سُبْحَةً"
