كِتَابُ الزَّكَاةِ
The chapter on mentioning the evidence that the Prophet only preferred the charity of the poor when it was a surplus over those he supports, and not if he gave to the distant and left those he supports starving.
بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا فَضَّلَ صَدَقَةَ الْمُقِلِّ إِذَا كَانَ فَضْلًا عَمَّنْ يَعُولُ، وَلَا إِذَا تَصَدَّقَ عَلَى الْأَبَاعِدِ وَتَرَكَ مَنْ يَعُولُ جِيَاعًا

Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 2451
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, which charity is best?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The charity given by a person with little wealth, who has worked for it. And begin with those whose sustenance is your responsibility.”
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے عرض کیا کہ اے اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ، کونسا صدقہ افضل ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کم مالدار شخص کا محنت سے کما کر کیا ہوا صدقہ افضل ہے اور سب سے پہلے ان لوگوں پرخرچ کرو جن کا نفقہ تمہارے ذمے ہے۔“
Sayyidina Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu se riwayat hai ki unhon ne arz kiya ke aye Allah ke Rasul sallallahu alaihi wasallam konsa sadaqah afzal hai Aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya kam maldar shakhs ka mehnat se kama kar kiya hua sadaqah afzal hai aur sab se pehle un logon par kharch karo jin ka nafaqa tumhare zimme hai
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْغَافِقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ ، حَدَّثَهُ. ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَعْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ:" جَهْدُ الْمُقِلِّ، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ"
