Husain b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported:I was with Sa'id b. Jubair when he said: Who amongst you saw a star shooting last night? I said: It was I; then I said: I was in fact not (busy) in prayer, but was stung by a scorpion (and that is the reason why I was awake and had a glimpse of the shooting star). He said: Then what did you do? I said: I practised charm. He said: What urged you to do this? I said: (I did this according to the implied suggestion) of the hadith which al-Shu'ba narrated. He said: What did al-Shu'ba narrate to you? I said: Buraida b. Husaib al-Aslami narrated to us. The charm is of no avail except in case of the (evil influence) of an eye or the sting of a scorpion. He said: He who acted according to what he had heard (from the Holy Prophet) acted rightly, but Ibn 'Abbas narrated to us from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that he said: There were brought before me the peoples and I saw an apostle and a small group (of his followers) along with him, another (apostle) and one or two persons (along with him) and (still another) apostle having no one with him. When a very large group was brought to me I conceived as if it were my Ummah. Then it was said to me: It is Moses and his people. You should look at the horizon, and I saw a very huge group. It was again said to me: See the other side of the horizon, and there was (also) a very huge group. It was said to me: This is your Ummah, and amongst them there were seventy thousand persons who would be made to enter Paradise without rendering any account and without (suffering) any torment. He then stood up and went to his house. Then the people began to talk about the people who would be admitted to Paradise without rendering any account and without (suffering) any torment. Some of them said: They may be those who (have had the good fortune of living) in the company of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and some of them said: They be those who were born in Islam and did not associate anything with Allah. Some people mentioned other things. Thereupon came forth the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) before them and he said: What was that which you were talking about? They informed him. He said: They are those persons who neither practise charm, nor ask others to practise it, nor do they take omens, and repose their trust in their Lord. Upon this 'Ukkasha b. Mihsan stood up and said: Supplicate for me that He should make me one among them. Upon this he (Messenger of Allah) said: Thou are one among them. Then another man stood up and said: Supplicate before Allah that He should make me one among them. Upon this he said: 'Ukkisha has preceded you.
حصین بن عبدالرحمٰن بیان کرتے ہیں، کہ میں سعید بن جبیر کے پاس تھا، انھوں نے پوچھا: کل شام ٹوٹنے والا ستارہ تم میں سے کس نے دیکھا؟ میں نے کہا: میں نے۔ پھر میں نے کہا: میں نماز میں نہیں تھا، کیونکہ مجھے بچھو نے ڈسا تھا۔ انھوں نے کہا: تو تم نے کیا کیا؟ میں نے کہا: میں نے دم کروایا۔ انھوں نے کہا: تو تمھیں کس چیز نے اس پر آمادہ کیا؟ میں نے جواب دیا: اس حدیث نے، جو ہمیں شعبی نے سنائی۔ تو انھوں نےکہا: شعبی نے تمھیں کون سی حدیث سنائی؟ میں نے کہا: شعبی نے ہمیں بریدہ بن حصیب اسلمیؓ سے روایت سنائی، انھوں نے بتایا: دم، نظرِ بد لگنے اور زہریلی چیز کے ڈسنے سے ہی ہے۔ تو سعید نے کہا: جس نے جو سنا اس پر عمل کیا، تو نے اچھا کیا، لیکن ہمیں عبداللہ بن عباس ؓ نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنایا آپ نے فرمایا: ”مجھ پر تمام امتیں پیش کی گئیں، میں نے بعض انبیاءؑ کو دیکھا، ان کے ساتھ ایک چھوٹا سا (دس سے کم کا) گروہ تھا۔ کسی نبیؑ کے ساتھ ایک یا دو امتی تھے، بعض کے ساتھ کوئی امتی نہ تھا۔ اچانک میرے سامنے ایک بہت بڑی جماعت ظاہر ہوئی، میں نے خیال کیا یہ لوگ میرے امتی ہیں، تو مجھے بتایا گیا: یہ موسیٰؑ اور ان کی قوم ہے، لیکن آپ آسمان کے افق (کنارے) کی طرف دیکھیں۔ میں نے دیکھا، تو ایک بہت بڑی جماعت تھی، تو مجھے کہا گیا: دوسرے آسمانی کنارے کی طرف دیکھو! تو میں نے دیکھا، ایک بہت بڑی جماعت تھی۔ تو مجھے بتایا گیا یہ تیری امت ہے اور ان کے ساتھ ستر ہزار افراد ہیں، جو بلا حساب و عذاب جنت میں داخل ہوں گے۔“ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اٹھے اور گھر چلے گئے، تو لوگ (صحابہ کرام ؓ) ان لوگوں کے بارے میں گفتگو کرنے لگے، جو بغیر حساب اور عذاب کے جنت میں داخل ہوں گے۔ تو بعض نے کہا: شاید یہ وہ لوگ ہوں گے، جنھیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے رفاقت کا شرف حاصل ہے۔ بعض نے کہا: شاید یہ وہ لوگ ہوں گے، جو اسلامی دور میں پیدا ہوئے اور اللہ تعالیٰ کے ساتھ شرک نہیں کیا۔ اور بعض نے کچھ اور باتوں کا تذکرہ کیا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کے پاس تشریف لائے اور پوچھا: ”تم کن باتوں میں مشغول ہو؟ یعنی (کس مسئلہ پر بحث کر رہے ہو) انھوں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو بتایا، اس پر آپ نے فرمایا: ”یہ وہ لوگ ہیں، جو نہ دم کرتے ہیں، نہ دم کرواتے ہیں اور اور نہ بد شگونی پکڑتے ہیں، اور اپنے رب پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں۔“ اس پر عکاشہ بن محصنؓ کھڑے ہوئے اور عرض کیا: اللہ سے دعا فرمائیے! کہ مجھے بھی ایسے لوگوں سے کر دے۔ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تو ان میں سے ہے۔“ پھر ایک اور آدمی کھڑا ہوا اور کہنے لگا: اے اللہ کے رسولؐ! دعا فرمائیے! اللہ مجھے بھی ان میں سے کر دے۔ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تم سے عکاشہ سبقت لے گیا۔“
Husain bin Abdur Rehman (Rehmatullah Alaih) bayan karte hain, ke main Saeed bin Jubair (Rehmatullah Alaih) ke paas tha, unhon ne poocha: Kal shaam tootne wala sitara tum mein se kis ne dekha? Main ne kaha: Main ne. Phir main ne kaha: Main namaz mein nahin tha, kyunke mujhe bichhoo ne dasa tha. Unhon ne kaha: To tum ne kya kiya? Main ne kaha: Main ne dam karwaya. Unhon ne kaha: To tumhein kis cheez ne is par aamada kiya? Main ne jawab diya: Is hadith ne, jo hamein Shabi (Rehmatullah Alaih) ne sunayi. To unhon ne kaha: Shabi (Rehmatullah Alaih) ne tumhein kaun si hadith sunayi? Main ne kaha: Shabi (Rehmatullah Alaih) ne hamein Buraidah bin Husaib Aslami (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat sunayi, unhon ne bataya: Dam, nazar-e-bad lagne aur zahrili cheez ke dasne se hi hai. To Saeed (Rehmatullah Alaih) ne kaha: Jis ne jo suna us par amal kiya, tu ne achha kiya, lekin hamein Abdullah bin Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se sunaya Aap ne farmaya: "Mujh par tamam ummaten pesh ki gayin, main ne baaz Anbiya (Alaihimus Salam) ko dekha, un ke sath ek chhota sa (das se kam ka) giroh tha. Kisi Nabi (Alaihis Salam) ke sath ek ya do ummati the, baaz ke sath koi ummati na tha. Achanak mere samne ek bahut bari jama'at zahir hui, main ne khayal kiya ye log mere ummati hain, to mujhe bataya gaya: Ye Musa (Alaihis Salam) aur un ki qaum hai, lekin Aap aasman ke ufuq (kinare) ki taraf dekhein. Main ne dekha, to ek bahut bari jama'at thi, to mujhe kaha gaya: Doosre aasmani kinare ki taraf dekho! To main ne dekha, ek bahut bari jama'at thi. To mujhe bataya gaya ye teri ummat hai aur un ke sath sattar hazar afrad hain, jo bila hisab-o-azab Jannat mein dakhil honge." Phir Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) uthay aur ghar chale gaye, to log (Sahaba Kiram (Radi Allahu Anhum)) un logon ke baare mein guftagu karne lage, jo baghair hisab aur azab ke Jannat mein dakhil honge. To baaz ne kaha: Shayad ye wo log honge, jinhein Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se rafaqat ka sharaf hasil hai. Baaz ne kaha: Shayad ye wo log honge, jo Islami daur mein paida hue aur Allah Ta'ala ke sath shirk nahin kiya. Aur baaz ne kuch aur baton ka tazkira kiya, to Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) un ke paas tashreef laye aur poocha: "Tum kin baton mein mashghool ho? Yani (kis masla par bahas kar rahe ho) unhon ne Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko bataya, is par Aap ne farmaya: "Ye wo log hain, jo na dam karte hain, na dam karwate hain aur na bad-shaguni pakarte hain, aur apne Rabb par bharosa karte hain." Is par Ukasha bin Muhsan (Radi Allahu Anhu) khare hue aur arz kiya: Allah se dua farmayiye! Ke mujhe bhi aise logon se kar de. To Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Tu un mein se hai." Phir ek aur aadmi khara hua aur kehne laga: Ae Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Dua farmayiye! Allah mujhe bhi un mein se kar de. To Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Tum se Ukasha sabqat le gaya."
