Sahih Muslim 1056
Umar bin Khattab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) distributed something. Upon this I said, Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), I swear by God, the others besides them were more deserving than these (to whom you gave charity). He said, ‘they had in fact left no other alternative for me but (that they should) either beg importunately from me or they would regard me as a miser, but I am not a miser.
حضرت عمر بن الخطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کچھ مال تقسیم کیا۔ تو میں نے عرض کیا: ”اےاللہ کے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ! اللہ کی قسم! ان کے علاوہ دوسرے لوگ اس کے زیادہ حقدار تھے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”انھوں نے سوال پر اصرار کر کے ایسی صورت حال بنا دی تھی کہ یا تو یہ لوگ مجھ سے بے حیائی اور بے شرمی سے مانگیں گے یا مجھے بخیل قرار دیں گے تو میں بخیل نہیں ہوں۔“
Hazrat Umar bin al-Khattab (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne kuch maal taqseem kiya. Toh main ne arz kiya: "Ae Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Allah ki qasam! in ke ilawa doosray log is ke ziyada haqdar thay Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Unhon ne sawal par israr kar ke aisi soorat-e-haal bana di thi ke ya toh yeh log mujh se be-hayayi aur be-sharmi se mangein gay ya mujhe bakheel qarar dein gay toh main bakheel nahi hoon."
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ، قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ، بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رضى الله عنه قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَسْمًا فَقُلْتُ وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَغَيْرُ هَؤُلاَءِ كَانَ أَحَقَّ بِهِ مِنْهُمْ . قَالَ " إِنَّهُمْ خَيَّرُونِي أَنْ يَسْأَلُونِي بِالْفُحْشِ أَوْ يُبَخِّلُونِي فَلَسْتُ بِبَاخِلٍ " .
