Sahih Muslim 1997b
Sa'id bin Jubair reported, I asked Ibn Umar (رضئ هللا ِتعالی عنہ) about (the preparation of) Nabidh in a green pitcher (besmeared with pitch), whereupon he said that Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) forbade the (preparation of) Nabidh in green pitcher (besmeared with pitch). I then came to Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and said, do you hear what Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) has said? Thereupon he said, what does he say? I said, he stated that Allah's Apostle (صلى ِهللا عليه ِو ِآله وسلم) has forbidden the (preparation of) Nabidh in a green pitcher (besmeared with pitch), whereupon he said, Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) has told the truth. Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) declared unlawful the preparation of Nabidh in a green pitcher (besmeared with pitch). I said, what is this thing, the Nabidh of a pitcher (Nabidh prepared in a pitcher)? Thereupon, he said, everything that is prepared in earthen pitcher.
سعید بن جبیر بیان کرتے ہیں، میں نے حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہما سے مٹکے کے نبیذ کے بارے میں سوال کیا؟ تو انہوں نے جواب دیا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مٹکے (گھڑے) کے نبیذ کو حرام قرار دیا، تو میں ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالی عنہما کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور کہا، کیا آپ ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہما کی بات نہیں سن رہے؟ انہوں نے پوچھا، وہ کیا کہتے ہیں؟ میں نے کہا، وہ کہتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے گھڑے کے نبیذ کو حرام قرار دیا ہے، انہوں نے کہا، وہ سچ کہتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے گھڑے کے نبیذ کو حرام ٹھہرایا ہے، میں نے پوچھا، گھڑے کا نبیذ کیا چیز ہے؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا، جو شئی (برتن) مٹی سے بنایا جائے، وہ جَرْ ہے۔
Said bin Jubair bayan karte hain, mein ne Hazrat Ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma) se matkay ke nabidh ke bare mein sawal kiya? toh unhon ne jawab diya, Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne matkay (gharhay) ke nabidh ko haram qarar diya, toh mein Ibn Abbas (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur kaha, kya aap Ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma) ki baat nahi sun rahe? unhon ne poocha, woh kya kehte hain? mein ne kaha, woh kehte hain, Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne gharhay ke nabidh ko haram qarar diya hai, unhon ne kaha, woh sach kehte hain, Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne gharhay ke nabidh ko haram thehraya hai, mein ne poocha, gharhay ka nabidh kya cheez hai? unhon ne jawab diya, jo shay (bartan) mitti se banaya jaye, woh jar (matka) hai.
حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَازِمٍ - حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ، فَقَالَ حَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَبِيذَ الْجَرِّ . فَأَتَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْتُ أَلاَ تَسْمَعُ مَا يَقُولُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ وَمَا يَقُولُ قُلْتُ قَالَ حَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَبِيذَ الْجَرِّ . فَقَالَ صَدَقَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ حَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَبِيذَ الْجَرِّ . فَقُلْتُ وَأَىُّ شَىْءٍ نَبِيذُ الْجَرِّ فَقَالَ كُلُّ شَىْءٍ يُصْنَعُ مِنَ الْمَدَرِ .
