Sahih Muslim 3005
Suhaib (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported that Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, there lived a king before you and he had a (court) magician. As he (the magician) grew old, he said to the king, I have grown old, send some young boy to me so that I should teach him magic. He (the king) sent to him a young man so that he should train him (in magic). And on his way (to the magician) he (the young man) found a monk sitting there. He (the young man) listened to his (the monk's) talk and was impressed by it. It became his habit that on his way to the magician he met the monk and sat there, and he came to the magician (late). He (the magician) beat him because of delay. He made a complaint of that to the monk, and he said to him, when you feel afraid of the magician, say, members of my family had detained me. And when you feel afraid of your family you should say, the magician had detained me. It so happened that there came a huge beast (of prey) and it blocked the way of the people, and he (the young boy) said, I will come to know today whether the magician is superior or the monk is superior. He picked up a stone and said, O Allah, if the affair of the monk is dearer to You than the affair of the magician, cause death to this animal so that the people should be able to move about freely. He threw that stone towards it and killed it and the people began to move about (on the path freely). He (the young man) then came to that monk and informed him, and the monk said, sorry, today you are superior to me. Your affair has come to a stage where I find that you would be soon put to a trial, and in case you are put to a trial don't give my clue. That young man began to treat the blind and those suffering from leprosy and he in fact began to cure people from (all kinds) of illness. When a companion of the king who had gone blind heard about him, he came to him with numerous gifts and said, if you cure me all these things collected here would be yours. He said, I do not cure anyone. It is Allah Who cures and if you affirm faith in Allah, I shall also supplicate Allah to cure you. He affirmed his faith in Allah and Allah cured him and he came to the king and sat by his side as he used to sit before. The king said to him, who restored your eyesight? He said, my Lord. Thereupon he said, it means that your Lord is One besides me. He said, my Lord and your Lord is Allah, so he (the king) took hold of him and tormented him till he gave a clue of that boy. The young man was thus summoned, and the king said to him, O boy, it has been conveyed to me that you have become so much proficient in your magic that you cure the blind and those suffering from leprosy and you do such and such things. Thereupon he said, I do not cure anyone; it is Allah Who cures, and he (the king) took hold of him and began to torment him. So, he gave a clue of the monk. The monk was thus summoned, and it was said to him, you should turn back from your religion. He, however, refused to do so. He (ordered) for a saw to be brought (and when it was done) he (the king) placed it in the middle of his head and tore it into parts till a part fell. Then the courtier of the king was brought, and it was said to him, turn back from your religion. And he refused to do so, and the saw was placed on his head, and it was torn till a part fell. Then that young boy was brought, and it was said to him, turn back from your religion. He refused to do so, and he was handed over to a group of his courtiers. And he said to them, take him to such and such mountain; make him climb up that mountain and when you reach its top (ask him to renounce his faith) but if he refuses to do so, then throw him (down the mountain). So, they took him and made him climb up the mountain and he said, O Allah, save me from them (in any way) You like, and the mountain began to quake, and they all fell, and that person came walking to the king. The king said to him, what has happened to your companions? He said: Allah has saved me from them. He again handed him to some of his courtiers and said, take him and carry him in a small boat and when you reach the middle of the ocean (ask him to renounce) his religion, but if he does not renounce his religion throw him (into the water). So, they took him, and he said, O Allah, save me from them and what they want to do. It was quite soon that the boat turned over and they were drowned, and he came walking to the king, and the king said to him, what has happened to your companions? He said, Allah has saved me from them, and he said to the king, you cannot kill me until you do what I ask you to do. And he said, what is that? He said, you should gather people in a plain and hang me by the trunk (of a tree). Then take hold of an arrow from the quiver and say, in the name of Allah, the Lord of the young boy; then shoot an arrow and if you do that then you would be able to kill me. So, he (the king) called the people in an open plain and tied him (the boy) to the trunk of a tree, then he took hold of an arrow from his quiver and then placed the arrow in the bow and then said, in the name of Allah, the Lord of the young boy; he then shot an arrow, and it bit his temple. The boy placed his hands upon the temple where the arrow had bit him and he died and the people said, we affirm our faith in the Lord of this young man, we affirm our faith in the Lord of this young man, we affirm our faith in the Lord of this young man. The courtiers came to the king, and it was said to him, do you see that Allah has done what you aimed at averting. They (the people) have affirmed their faith in the Lord. He (the king) commanded ditches to be dug at important points in the path. When these ditches were dug, and the fire was lit in them it was said (to the people), he who would not turn back from his (boy's) religion would be thrown in the fire or it would be said to them to jump in that. (The people courted death but did not renounce religion) till a woman came with her child and she felt hesitant in jumping into the fire and the child said to her, O mother, endure (this ordeal) for it is the Truth.
حضرت صہیب ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم سے پہلے لوگوں میں ایک بادشاہ تھا اور اس کا ایک جادوگر تھا۔ جب وہ جادوگر بوڑھا ہو گیا تو بادشاہ سے بولا کہ میں بوڑھا ہو گیا ہوں، میرے پاس کوئی لڑکا بھیج کہ میں اس کو جادو سکھلاؤں۔ بادشاہ نے اس کے پاس ایک لڑکا بھیجا، وہ اس کو جادو سکھلاتا تھا۔ اس لڑکے کی آمدورفت کی راہ میں ایک راہب تھا (عیسائی درویش یعنی پادری تارک الدنیا)، وہ لڑکا اس کے پاس بیٹھا اور اس کا کلام سنا تو اسے اس کی باتیں اچھی لگیں۔ اب جادوگر کے پاس جاتا تو راہب کی طرف سے ہو کر نکلتا اور اس کے پاس بیٹھتا، پھر جب جادوگر کے پاس جاتا تو جادوگر اس کو (دیر سے آنے کی وجہ سے) مارتا۔ آخر لڑکے نے جادوگر کے مارنے کا راہب سے گلہ کیا تو راہب نے کہا کہ جب تو جادوگر سے ڈرے، تو یہ کہہ دیا کر کہ میرے گھر والوں نے مجھ کو روک رکھا تھا اور جب تو اپنے گھر والوں سے ڈرے، تو کہہ دیا کر کہ جادوگر نے مجھے روک رکھا تھا۔ اسی حالت میں وہ لڑکا رہا کہ اچانک ایک بڑے درندے پر گزرا کہ جس نے لوگوں کو آمدورفت سے روک رکھا تھا۔ لڑکے نے کہا کہ آج میں معلوم کرتا ہوں کہ جادوگر افضل ہے یا راہب افضل ہے۔ اس نے ایک پتھر لیا اور کہا کہ الٰہی اگر راہب کا طریقہ تجھے جادوگر کے طریقے سے زیادہ پسند ہو، تو اس جانور کو قتل کر تاکہ لوگ گزر جائیں۔ پھر اس کو پتھر سے مارا تو وہ جانور مر گیا اور لوگ گزرنے لگے۔ پھر وہ لڑکا راہب کے پاس آیا اس سے یہ حال کہا تو وہ بولا کہ بیٹا تو مجھ سے بڑھ گیا ہے، یقیناً تیرا رتبہ یہاں تک پہنچا جو میں دیکھتا ہوں اور تو عنقریب آزمایا جائے گا۔ پھر اگر تو آزمایا جائے تو میرا نام نہ بتلانا۔ اس لڑکے کا یہ حال تھا کہ اندھے اور کوڑھی کو اچھا کرتا اور ہر قسم کی بیماری کا علاج کرتا تھا۔ یہ حال جب بادشاہ کے مصاحب جو کہ اندھا ہو گیا تھا سنا تو اس لڑکے کے پاس بہت سے تحفے لایا اور کہنے لگا کہ یہ سب مال تیرا ہے اگر تو مجھے اچھا کر دے۔ لڑکے نے کہا کہ میں کسی کو اچھا نہیں کرتا، اچھا کرنا تو اللہ تعالیٰ کا کام ہے، اگر تو اللہ پر ایمان لائے تو میں اللہ سے دعا کروں گا تو وہ تجھے اچھا کر دے گا۔ وہ وزیر اللہ پر ایمان لایا تو اللہ نے اس کو اچھا کر دیا۔ وہ بادشاہ کے پاس گیا اور اس کے پاس بیٹھا جیسا کہ بیٹھا کرتا تھا۔ بادشاہ نے کہا کہ تیری آنکھ کس نے روشن کی؟ وزیر بولا کہ میرے مالک نے۔ بادشاہ نے کہا کہ میرے سوا تیرا مالک کون ہے؟ وزیر نے کہا کہ میرا اور تیرا مالک اللہ ہے۔ بادشاہ نے اس کو پکڑا اور عذاب شروع کیا، یہاں تک کہ اس نے لڑکے کا نام لے لیا۔ وہ لڑکا بلایا گیا۔ بادشاہ نے اس سے کہا کہ اے بیٹا تو جادو میں اس درجہ پر پہنچا کہ اندھے اور کوڑھی کو اچھا کرتا ہے اور بڑے بڑے کام کرتا ہے؟ وہ بولا کہ میں تو کسی کو اچھا نہیں کرتا بلکہ اللہ اچھا کرتا ہے۔ بادشاہ نے اس کو پکڑا اور مارتا رہا، یہاں تک کہ اس نے راہب کا نام بتلایا۔ راہب پکڑ لیا گیا۔ اس سے کہا گیا کہ اپنے دین سے پھر جا۔ اس کے نہ ماننے پر بادشاہ نے ایک آرہ منگوایا اور راہب کی مانگ پر رکھ کر اس کو چیر ڈالا، یہاں تک کہ دو ٹکڑے ہو کر گر پڑا۔ پھر وہ وزیر بلایا گیا، اس سے کہا گیا کہ تو اپنے دین سے پھر جا، اس نے بھی نہ مانا اس کی مانگ پر بھی آرہ رکھا گیا اور چیر ڈالا یہاں تک کہ دو ٹکڑے ہو کر گر پڑا۔ پھر وہ لڑکا بلایا گیا، اس سے کہا کہ اپنے دین سے پلٹ جا، اس نے بھی نہ انکار کیا۔ نے اس کو اپنے چند ساتھیوں کے حوالے کیا اور کہا کہ اس کو فلاں پہاڑ پر لے جا کر چوٹی پر چڑھاؤ، جب تم چوٹی پر پہنچو تو اس لڑکے سے پوچھو، اگر وہ اپنے دین سے پھر جائے تو خیر، نہیں تو اس کو دھکیل دو۔ وہ اس کو لے گئے اور پہاڑ پر چڑھایا۔ لڑکے نے دعا کی کہ الٰہی جس طرح تو چاہے مجھے ان کے شر سے بچا۔ پہاڑ ہلا اور وہ لوگ گر پڑے۔ وہ لڑکا بادشاہ کے پاس چلا آیا۔ بادشاہ نے پوچھا کہ تیرے ساتھی کہاں گئے؟ اس نے کہا کہ اللہ نے مجھے ان کے شر سے بچا لیا۔ پھر بادشاہ نے اس کو اپنے چند ساتھیوں کے حوالے کیا اور کہا کہ اس کو ایک کشتی میں دریا کے اندر لے جاؤ، اگر اپنے دین سے پھر جائے تو خیر، ورنہ اس کو دریا میں دھکیل دینا۔ وہ لوگ اس کو لے گئے۔ لڑکے نے کہا کہ الٰہی! تو مجھے جس طرح چاہے ان کے شر سے بچا لے۔ وہ کشتی اوندھی ہو گئی اور لڑکے کے سوا سب ساتھی ڈوب گئے اور لڑکا زندہ بچ کر بادشاہ کے پاس آ گیا۔ بادشاہ نے اس سے پوچھا کہ تیرے ساتھی کہاں گئے؟ وہ بولا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھے ان کے شر سے بچا لیا۔ پھر لڑکے نے بادشاہ سے کہا کہ تو مجھے اس وقت تک نہ مار سکے گا، جب تک کہ جو طریقہ میں بتلاؤں وہ نہ کرے۔ بادشاہ نے کہا کہ وہ کیا؟ اس نے کہا کہ تو سب لوگوں کو ایک میدان میں جمع کر کے مجھے ایک لکڑی پر سولی دے، پھر میرے ترکش سے ایک تیر لے کر کمان کے اندر رکھ، پھر کہہ کہ اس اللہ کے نام سے مارتا ہوں جو اس لڑکے کا مالک ہے۔ پھر تیر مار۔ اگر تو ایسا کرے گا تو مجھے قتل کرے گا۔ بادشاہ نے سب لوگوں کو ایک میدان میں جمع کیا، اس لڑکے کو درخت کے تنے پر لٹکایا، پھر اس کے ترکش میں سے ایک تیر لیا اور تیر کو کمان کے اندر رکھ کر یہ کہتے ہوئے مارا کہ اللہ کے نام سے مارتا ہوں جو اس لڑکے کا مالک ہے۔ وہ تیر لڑکے کی کنپٹی پر لگا۔ اس نے اپنا ہاتھ تیر کے مقام پر رکھا اور مر گیا۔ لوگوں نے یہ حال دیکھ کر کہا کہ ہم تو اس لڑکے کے مالک پر ایمان لائے، ہم اس لڑکے کے مالک پر ایمان لائے، ہم اس لڑکے کے مالک پر ایمان لائے۔ کسی نے بادشاہ سے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم! جس سے تو ڈرتا تھا وہی ہوا یعنی لوگ ایمان لے آئے۔ بادشاہ نے راستوں کے نالوں پر خندقیں کھودنے کا حکم دیا۔ پھر خندقیں کھودی گئیں اور ان میں خوب آگ بھڑکائی گئی اور کہا کہ جو شخص اس دین سے (یعنی لڑکے کے دین سے) نہ پھرے، اسے ان خندقوں میں دھکیل دو، یا اس سے کہا جائے کہ ان خندقوں میں گرے۔ لوگوں نے ایسا ہی کیا، یہاں تک کہ ایک عورت آئی جس کے ساتھ اس کا بچہ بھی تھا،اس عورت نےآگ میں گرنے سے تردد کیا تو بچے نے کہا کہ اے ماں! صبر کر تو سچے دین پر ہے۔
Hazrat Suhaib (Radiallahu Anhu) bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: Tum se pehle logon mein ek badshah tha aur us ka ek jadugar tha. Jab woh jadugar boodha ho gaya to badshah se bola ke main boodha ho gaya hoon, mere paas koi ladka bhej ke main us ko jadu sikhlaoon. Badshah ne us ke paas ek ladka bheja, woh us ko jadu sikhlata tha. Us ladke ki aamad o raft ki rah mein ek rahib tha (Esai darwesh yani padri tarked duniya), woh ladka us ke paas baitha aur us ka kalam suna to use us ki baatein achi lagin. Ab jadugar ke paas jata to rahib ki taraf se ho kar nikalta aur us ke paas baithta, phir jab jadugar ke paas jata to jadugar us ko (der se aane ki wajah se) marta. Akhir ladke ne jadugar ke marne ka rahib se gila kiya to rahib ne kaha ke jab tu jadugar se dare, to yeh keh diya kar ke mere ghar walon ne mujh ko rok rakha tha aur jab tu apne ghar walon se dare, to keh diya kar ke jadugar ne mujhe rok rakha tha. Isi halat mein woh ladka raha ke achaanak ek bade darinde par guzra ke jis ne logon ko aamad o raft se rok rakha tha. Ladke ne kaha ke aaj main ma'loom karta hoon ke jadugar afzal hai ya rahib afzal hai. Us ne ek pathar liya aur kaha ke Ilahi agar rahib ka tareeqa tujhe jadugar ke tareeqe se zyada pasand ho, to is janwar ko qatal kar taake log guzar jayen. Phir us ko pathar se mara to woh janwar mar gaya aur log guzrane lage. Phir woh ladka rahib ke paas aaya us se yeh hal kaha to woh bola ke beta tu mujh se badh gaya hai, yaqeenan tera rutba yahan tak pahuncha jo main dekhta hoon aur tu anqareeb azmaya jayega. Phir agar tu azmaya jaye to mera naam na batlana. Is ladke ka yeh hal tha ke andhe aur korhi ko acha karta aur har qism ki bimari ka ilaaj karta tha. Yeh hal jab badshah ke musahib jo ke andha ho gaya tha suna to is ladke ke paas bohat se tohfe laya aur kehne laga ke yeh sab maal tera hai agar tu mujhe acha kar de. Ladke ne kaha ke main kisi ko acha nahi karta, acha karna to Allah Ta'ala ka kaam hai, agar tu Allah par Iman laye to main Allah se dua karunga to woh tujhe acha kar de. Woh wazir Allah par Iman laya to Allah ne us ko acha kar diya. Woh badshah ke paas gaya aur us ke paas baitha jaisa ke baitha karta tha. Badshah ne kaha ke teri aankh kis ne roshan ki? Wazir bola ke mere malik ne. Badshah ne kaha ke mere siwa tera malik kaun hai? Wazir ne kaha ke mera aur tera malik Allah Ta'ala hai. Badshah ne us ko pakda aur azab shuru kiya, yahan tak ke us ne ladke ka naam le liya. Woh ladka bulaya gaya. Badshah ne us se kaha ke aye beta tu jadu mein is darja par pahuncha ke andhe aur korhi ko acha karta hai aur bade bade kaam karta hai? Woh bola ke main to kisi ko acha nahi karta balkay Allah acha karta hai. Badshah ne us ko pakda aur marta raha, yahan tak ke us ne rahib ka naam batlaya. Rahib pakad liya gaya. Us se kaha gaya ke apne Deen se phir ja. Us ke na manne par badshah ne ek aarah mangwaya aur rahib ki mang par rakh kar us ko cheer dala, yahan tak ke do tukde ho kar gir pada. Phir woh wazir bulaya gaya, us se kaha gaya ke tu apne Deen se phir ja, us ne bhi na mana us ki mang par bhi aarah rakha gaya aur cheer dala yahan tak ke do tukde ho kar gir pada. Phir woh ladka bulaya gaya, us se kaha ke apne Deen se palat ja, us ne bhi na inkar kiya. Ne us ko apne chand sathiyon ke hawale kiya aur kaha ke is ko falan pahad par le ja kar choti par chadhao, jab tum choti par pahuncho to is ladke se poocho, agar woh apne Deen se phir jaye to khair, nahi to us ko dhakel do. Woh us ko le gaye aur pahad par chadhaya. Ladke ne dua ki ke Ilahi jis tarah tu chahe mujhe in ke shar se bacha. Pahad hila aur woh log gir pade. Woh ladka badshah ke paas chala aaya. Badshah ne poocha ke tere sathi kahan gaye? Us ne kaha ke Allah ne mujhe un ke shar se bacha liya. Phir badshah ne us ko apne chand sathiyon ke hawale kiya aur kaha ke is ko ek kashti mein dariya ke andar le jao, agar apne Deen se phir jaye to khair, warna us ko dariya mein dhakel dena. Woh log us ko le gaye. Ladke ne kaha ke Ilahi! Tu mujhe jis tarah chahe in ke shar se bacha le. Woh kashti aundhi ho gayi aur ladke ke siwa sab sathi doob gaye aur ladka zinda bach kar badshah ke paas aa gaya. Badshah ne us se poocha ke tere sathi kahan gaye? Woh bola ke Allah Ta'ala ne mujhe un ke shar se bacha liya. Phir ladke ne badshah se kaha ke tu mujhe us waqt tak na mar sakega, jab tak ke jo tareeqa main batlaoon woh na kare. Badshah ne kaha ke woh kya? Us ne kaha ke tu sab logon ko ek maidan mein jama kar ke mujhe ek lakdi par sooli de, phir mere tarkash se ek teer le kar kaman ke andar rakh, phir keh ke is Allah ke naam se marta hoon jo is ladke ka malik hai. Phir teer mar. Agar tu aisa karega to mujhe qatal karega. Badshah ne sab logon ko ek maidan mein jama kiya, us ladke ko darakht ke tanne par latkaya, phir us ke tarkash mein se ek teer liya aur teer ko kaman ke andar rakh kar yeh kehte hue mara ke Allah ke naam se marta hoon jo is ladke ka malik hai. Woh teer ladke ki kanpati par laga. Us ne apna hath teer ke maqam par rakha aur mar gaya. Logon ne yeh hal dekh kar kaha ke hum to is ladke ke malik par Iman laye, hum is ladke ke malik par Iman laye, hum is ladke ke malik par Iman laye. Kisi ne badshah se kaha ke Allah ki qasam! Jis se tu darta tha wahi hua yani log Iman le aaye. Badshah ne raston ke nalon par khandaqein khodne ka hukum diya. Phir khandaqein khodi gayin aur un mein khoob aag bhadkayi gayi aur kaha ke jo shakhs is Deen se (yani ladke ke Deen se) na phirr, use in khandaqon mein dhakel do, ya us se kaha jaye ke in khandaqon mein gire. Logon ne aisa hi kiya, yahan tak ke ek aurat aayi jis ke sath us ka bachcha bhi tha, is aurat ne aag mein girne se taraddud kiya to bachche ne kaha ke aye maa! Sabr kar tu sachche Deen par hai.
حَدَّثَنَا هَدَّابُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ، أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " كَانَ مَلِكٌ فِيمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ وَكَانَ لَهُ سَاحِرٌ فَلَمَّا كَبِرَ قَالَ لِلْمَلِكِ إِنِّي قَدْ كَبِرْتُ فَابْعَثْ إِلَىَّ غُلاَمًا أُعَلِّمْهُ السِّحْرَ . فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِ غُلاَمًا يُعَلِّمُهُ فَكَانَ فِي طَرِيقِهِ إِذَا سَلَكَ رَاهِبٌ فَقَعَدَ إِلَيْهِ وَسَمِعَ كَلاَمَهُ فَأَعْجَبَهُ فَكَانَ إِذَا أَتَى السَّاحِرَ مَرَّ بِالرَّاهِبِ وَقَعَدَ إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا أَتَى السَّاحِرَ ضَرَبَهُ فَشَكَا ذَلِكَ إِلَى الرَّاهِبِ فَقَالَ إِذَا خَشِيتَ السَّاحِرَ فَقُلْ حَبَسَنِي أَهْلِي . وَإِذَا خَشِيتَ أَهْلَكَ فَقُلْ حَبَسَنِي السَّاحِرُ . فَبَيْنَمَا هُوَ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ أَتَى عَلَى دَابَّةٍ عَظِيمَةٍ قَدْ حَبَسَتِ النَّاسَ فَقَالَ الْيَوْمَ أَعْلَمُ آلسَّاحِرُ أَفْضَلُ أَمِ الرَّاهِبُ أَفْضَلُ فَأَخَذَ حَجَرًا فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ أَمْرُ الرَّاهِبِ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ أَمْرِ السَّاحِرِ فَاقْتُلْ هَذِهِ الدَّابَّةَ حَتَّى يَمْضِيَ النَّاسُ . فَرَمَاهَا فَقَتَلَهَا وَمَضَى النَّاسُ فَأَتَى الرَّاهِبَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّاهِبُ أَىْ بُنَىَّ أَنْتَ الْيَوْمَ أَفْضَلُ مِنِّي . قَدْ بَلَغَ مِنْ أَمْرِكَ مَا أَرَى وَإِنَّكَ سَتُبْتَلَى فَإِنِ ابْتُلِيتَ فَلاَ تَدُلَّ عَلَىَّ . وَكَانَ الْغُلاَمُ يُبْرِئُ الأَكْمَهَ وَالأَبْرَصَ وَيُدَاوِي النَّاسَ مِنْ سَائِرِ الأَدْوَاءِ فَسَمِعَ جَلِيسٌ لِلْمَلِكِ كَانَ قَدْ عَمِيَ فَأَتَاهُ بِهَدَايَا كَثِيرَةٍ فَقَالَ مَا هَا هُنَا لَكَ أَجْمَعُ إِنْ أَنْتَ شَفَيْتَنِي فَقَالَ إِنِّي لاَ أَشْفِي أَحَدًا إِنَّمَا يَشْفِي اللَّهُ فَإِنْ أَنْتَ آمَنْتَ بِاللَّهِ دَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ فَشَفَاكَ . فَآمَنَ بِاللَّهِ فَشَفَاهُ اللَّهُ فَأَتَى الْمَلِكَ فَجَلَسَ إِلَيْهِ كَمَا كَانَ يَجْلِسُ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْمَلِكُ مَنْ رَدَّ عَلَيْكَ بَصَرَكَ قَالَ رَبِّي . قَالَ وَلَكَ رَبٌّ غَيْرِي قَالَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ . فَأَخَذَهُ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يُعَذِّبُهُ حَتَّى دَلَّ عَلَى الْغُلاَمِ فَجِيءَ بِالْغُلاَمِ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْمَلِكُ أَىْ بُنَىَّ قَدْ بَلَغَ مِنْ سِحْرِكَ مَا تُبْرِئُ الأَكْمَهَ وَالأَبْرَصَ وَتَفْعَلُ وَتَفْعَلُ . فَقَالَ إِنِّي لاَ أَشْفِي أَحَدًا إِنَّمَا يَشْفِي اللَّهُ . فَأَخَذَهُ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يُعَذِّبُهُ حَتَّى دَلَّ عَلَى الرَّاهِبِ فَجِيءَ بِالرَّاهِبِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ ارْجِعْ عَنْ دِينِكَ . فَأَبَى فَدَعَا بِالْمِئْشَارِ فَوَضَعَ الْمِئْشَارَ فِي مَفْرِقِ رَأْسِهِ فَشَقَّهُ حَتَّى وَقَعَ شِقَّاهُ ثُمَّ جِيءَ بِجَلِيسِ الْمَلِكِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ ارْجِعْ عَنْ دِينِكَ . فَأَبَى فَوَضَعَ الْمِئْشَارَ فِي مَفْرِقِ رَأْسِهِ فَشَقَّهُ بِهِ حَتَّى وَقَعَ شِقَّاهُ ثُمَّ جِيءَ بِالْغُلاَمِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ ارْجِعْ عَنْ دِينِكَ . فَأَبَى فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ اذْهَبُوا بِهِ إِلَى جَبَلِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَاصْعَدُوا بِهِ الْجَبَلَ فَإِذَا بَلَغْتُمْ ذُرْوَتَهُ فَإِنْ رَجَعَ عَنْ دِينِهِ وَإِلاَّ فَاطْرَحُوهُ فَذَهَبُوا بِهِ فَصَعِدُوا بِهِ الْجَبَلَ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِيهِمْ بِمَا شِئْتَ . فَرَجَفَ بِهِمُ الْجَبَلُ فَسَقَطُوا وَجَاءَ يَمْشِي إِلَى الْمَلِكِ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْمَلِكُ مَا فَعَلَ أَصْحَابُكَ قَالَ كَفَانِيهِمُ اللَّهُ . فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ اذْهَبُوا بِهِ فَاحْمِلُوهُ فِي قُرْقُورٍ فَتَوَسَّطُوا بِهِ الْبَحْرَ فَإِنْ رَجَعَ عَنْ دِينِهِ وَإِلاَّ فَاقْذِفُوهُ . فَذَهَبُوا بِهِ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِيهِمْ بِمَا شِئْتَ . فَانْكَفَأَتْ بِهِمُ السَّفِينَةُ فَغَرِقُوا وَجَاءَ يَمْشِي إِلَى الْمَلِكِ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْمَلِكُ مَا فَعَلَ أَصْحَابُكَ قَالَ كَفَانِيهِمُ اللَّهُ . فَقَالَ لِلْمَلِكِ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ بِقَاتِلِي حَتَّى تَفْعَلَ مَا آمُرُكَ بِهِ . قَالَ وَمَا هُوَ قَالَ تَجْمَعُ النَّاسَ فِي صَعِيدٍ وَاحِدٍ وَتَصْلُبُنِي عَلَى جِذْعٍ ثُمَّ خُذْ سَهْمًا مِنْ كِنَانَتِي ثُمَّ ضَعِ السَّهْمَ فِي كَبِدِ الْقَوْسِ ثُمَّ قُلْ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْغُلاَمِ . ثُمَّ ارْمِنِي فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ قَتَلْتَنِي . فَجَمَعَ النَّاسَ فِي صَعِيدٍ وَاحِدٍ وَصَلَبَهُ عَلَى جِذْعٍ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ سَهْمًا مِنْ كِنَانَتِهِ ثُمَّ وَضَعَ السَّهْمَ فِي كَبِدِ الْقَوْسِ ثُمَّ قَالَ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْغُلاَمِ . ثُمَّ رَمَاهُ فَوَقَعَ السَّهْمُ فِي صُدْغِهِ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي صُدْغِهِ فِي مَوْضِعِ السَّهْمِ فَمَاتَ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْغُلاَمِ آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْغُلاَمِ آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْغُلاَمِ . فَأُتِيَ الْمَلِكُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَرَأَيْتَ مَا كُنْتَ تَحْذَرُ قَدْ وَاللَّهِ نَزَلَ بِكَ حَذَرُكَ قَدْ آمَنَ النَّاسُ . فَأَمَرَ بِالأُخْدُودِ فِي أَفْوَاهِ السِّكَكِ فَخُدَّتْ وَأَضْرَمَ النِّيرَانَ وَقَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ عَنْ دِينِهِ فَأَحْمُوهُ فِيهَا . أَوْ قِيلَ لَهُ اقْتَحِمْ . فَفَعَلُوا حَتَّى جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ وَمَعَهَا صَبِيٌّ لَهَا فَتَقَاعَسَتْ أَنْ تَقَعَ فِيهَا فَقَالَ لَهَا الْغُلاَمُ يَا أُمَّهِ اصْبِرِي فَإِنَّكِ عَلَى الْحَقِّ " .
