Sahih Muslim 580b
Another version of the Hadith on the authority of Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) says, when the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sat for tashah-hud, he placed his left hand on his left knee and placed his right hand on his right knee and he formed a ring like (fifty-three) and pointed with his finger of attestation.
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب تشہد کے لیے بیٹھتے تو اپنا بایاں ہاتھ اپنے بائیں گٹھنے پر رکھتے اور اپنا دایاں ہاتھ اپنے دائیں گٹھنے پر رکھتے اور ترپن کی شکل بناتے اور انگشت شہادت سے اشارہ کرتے۔
Hazrat Ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) jab tashahud ke liye baithte to apna bayan hath apne bayein gutne par rakhte aur apna dayan hath apne dayein gutne par rakhte aur tirpan (53) ki shakal banate aur angisht-e-shahadat se ishaara karte.
وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا قَعَدَ فِي التَّشَهُّدِ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ الْيُسْرَى وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ الْيُمْنَى وَعَقَدَ ثَلاَثَةً وَخَمْسِينَ وَأَشَارَ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ .
