Sahih Muslim 730e
Abdullah bin Shaqiq al-Uqaili narrated that he asked Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) about the prayer of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). She said, the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) would observe prayer (Nafl) in a standing position as well as in a sitting position and when he commenced the prayer in a standing position, he bowed in this very position, and when he commenced the prayer in a sitting position, he bowed in this very position.
عبداللہ بن شفیق عقیلی بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ہم نے عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی نماز کے بارے میں پوچھا تو انہوں نے کہا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کافی دیر تک کھڑے ہو کر اور کافی دیر تک بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھتے تھے تو جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہو کر نماز شروع کرتے تو رکوع کھڑے ہو کر کرتے اور جب بیٹھ کر نماز کا آغاز کرتے تو رکوع بیٹھ کر کرتے۔
Abdullah bin Shaqeeq Aqili bayan karte hain ke hum ne Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) se Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ki namaz ke baare mein pucha toh unhone kaha, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) kaafi dair tak kharay ho kar aur kaafi dair tak baith kar namaz parhte thay toh jab Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) kharay ho kar namaz shuru karte toh rukoo kharay ho kar karte aur jab baith kar namaz ka aaghaz karte toh rukoo baith kar karte.
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ، قَالَ سَأَلْنَا عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صَلاَةِ، رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُكْثِرُ الصَّلاَةَ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا فَإِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ قَائِمًا رَكَعَ قَائِمًا وَإِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ قَاعِدًا رَكَعَ قَاعِدًا .
