Mustadrak Al Hakim 4179
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) that a villager asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the fast of Monday, whereupon he said: "Verily, this is the day on which I was born and on this day the revelation was sent down to me.” ** This hadith is Sahih (authentic) according to the criteria of Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) and Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him), but the two Sheikhs (may Allah have mercy on them both) did not narrate it. However, Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him), with the same chain of narrators, through his teacher Shu'ba (may Allah have mercy on him), that the fast of the day of 'Arafah expiates for the sins of the past year and the coming year.
" حضرت ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک دیہاتی نے نبی اکرم ﷺ سے پیر کے روزے کے متعلق پوچھا تو آپ نے فرمایا : بے شک یہ وہ دن ہے کہ اس میں میری ولادت ہوئی ہے اور اسی دن مجھ پر وحی آئی ۔ ٭٭ یہ حدیث امام بخاری رحمۃ اللہ علیہ اور امام مسلم رحمۃ اللہ علیہ کے معیار کے مطابق صحیح ہے لیکن شیخین رحمۃ اللہ علیہما نے اسے نقل نہیں کیا ۔ جبکہ امام مسلم رحمۃ اللہ علیہ نے اسی سند کے ہمراہ شعبہ رحمۃ اللہ علیہ کے واسطے قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے یہ روایت کی ہے کہ عرفہ کے دن کا روزہ ایک سال اور اس سے پہلے کے گناہوں کو مٹا دیتا ہے ۔"
Hazrat Abu Qatadah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ki ek dehati ne Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se peer ke roze ke mutalliq pucha to aap ne farmaya: Be shak yah wo din hai ki is mein meri wiladat hui hai aur isi din mujh par wahi aai. ** Yah hadees Imam Bukhari Rahmatullah Alaih aur Imam Muslim Rahmatullah Alaih ke miyaar ke mutabiq sahih hai lekin Sheikhain Rahmatullah Alaihema ne ise naqal nahin kiya. Jabkay Imam Muslim Rahmatullah Alaih ne isi sanad ke hamrah Sha'bah Rahmatullah Alaih ke waste Qatadah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se yah riwayat ki hai ki Arafah ke din ka roza ek saal aur is se pehle ke gunahon ko mita deta hai.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ السَّمَّاكِ، بِبَغْدَادَ، وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْعَدْلُ بِنَيْسَابُورَ قَالَا: ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، أَنْبَأَ سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الزِّمَّانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الِاثْنَيْنِ قَالَ: «إِنَّ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ الَّذِي وُلِدْتُ فِيهِ وَأُنْزِلَ عَلَيَّ فِيهِ» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ إِنَّمَا احْتَجَّ مُسْلِمٌ بِحَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ: صَوْمُ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ يُكَفِّرُ السُّنَّةَ وَمَا قَبْلَهَا "" [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] 4179 - على شرط البخاري ومسلم
