Sunan an-Nasa'i 1983

Abu Umamah bin Sahi (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that a woman from among the people of Al-Awali fell sick and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was the best in visiting the sick. He said, 'when she dies, inform me.' She died at night and they buried her without telling the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). The following morning he asked about her and they said, we did not like to wake you, O Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).' So he went to her grave and offered the funeral prayer for her and said Takbir four times.’

عوف بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو سنا کہ آپ ایک جنازے کی نماز میں کہہ رہے تھے: «اللہم اغفر له وارحمه واعف عنه وعافه وأكرم نزله ووسع مدخله واغسله بماء وثلج وبرد ونقه من الخطايا كما ينقى الثوب الأبيض من الدنس وأبدله دارا خيرا من داره وأهلا خيرا من أهله وزوجا خيرا من زوجه وقه عذاب القبر وعذاب النار» ”اے اللہ! اس کی مغفرت فرما، اس پر رحم کر، اسے معاف کر دے، اسے عافیت دے، اس کی ( بہترین ) مہمان نوازی فرما، اس کی ( قبر ) کشادہ کر دے، اسے پانی برف اور اولے سے دھو دے، اسے گناہوں سے اس طرح صاف کر دے جیسے سفید کپڑا میل کچیل سے صاف کیا جاتا ہے، اس کو بدلے میں اس کے گھر سے اچھا گھر، اس کے گھر والوں سے بہتر گھر والے، اور اس کی بیوی سے اچھی بیوی عطا کر، اور اسے عذاب قبر اور عذاب جہنم سے بچا“۔ عوف رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس میت کے لیے رسول اللہ ﷺ کی یہ دعا ( سن کر ) میں نے آرزو کی: کاش! اس کی جگہ میں ہوتا۔

Aouf bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main ne Rasool Allah SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM ko suna ke aap ek janaze ki namaz mein kah rahe the: «Allahughfir lahu warhamhu wa'af anhu wa'aafhi waakrim nazlahu wa-wassi madkhalahu waghsilhu bi-maa'i wa-thalaaji wa-bardi wanqqihu min al-khataya kama yunqqa al-thoub al-abyad min al-dnas wa-abdalhu dara khayra min darihi wa-ahla khayra min ahlihi wazauja khayra min zaujihi wa-qahi 'azab al-qabr wa-'azab al-naar» “Aey Allah! Is ki maghfirat farma, is par rahm kar, isse maaf kar de, isse aafayat de, is ki ( behtarin ) mehmman nawazi farma, is ki ( qabr ) khashda kar de, isse pani barf aur oley se dhoo de, isse gunaho se is tarah saaf kar de jese safed kapra meil kachil se saaf kiya jata hai, isko badle mein is ke ghar se acha ghar, is ke ghar walon se behtar ghar wale, aur is ki biwi se achi biwi ata kar, aur isse azab qabr aur azab jahannam se bacha“. Aouf (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke is mait ke liye Rasool Allah SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM ki yeh dua ( sun kar ) main ne aarzoo ki: Kash! Is ki jagah mein hota.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ وَاغْسِلْهُ بِمَاءٍ وَثَلْجٍ وَبَرَدٍ وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ وَأَبْدِلْهُ دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ وَأَهْلاً خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَزَوْجًا خَيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِ وَقِهِ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابَ النَّارِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ عَوْفٌ فَتَمَنَّيْتُ أَنْ لَوْ كُنْتُ الْمَيِّتَ لِدُعَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِذَلِكَ الْمَيِّتِ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1984

Abu Laila narrated that Zaid bin Arqam (رضي الله تعالى عنه) offered the funeral prayer and said the Takbir five times, and said that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) had said the Takbir like this.

عوف بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو ایک میت پر صلاۃ پڑھتے سنا، تو میں نے سنا کہ آپ اس کے لیے دعا میں یہ کہہ رہے تھے: «اللہم اغفر له وارحمه وعافه واعف عنه وأكرم نزله ووسع مدخله واغسله بالماء والثلج والبرد ونقه من الخطايا كما نقيت الثوب الأبيض من الدنس وأبدله دارا خيرا من داره وأهلا خيرا من أهله وزوجا خيرا من زوجه وأدخله الجنة ونجه من النار - أو قال - وأعذه من عذاب القبر‏» ”اے اللہ! اس کی مغفرت فرما، اس پر رحم کر، اسے عافیت دے، اسے معاف کر دے، اس کی ( بہترین ) مہمان نوازی فرما، اس کی ( قبر ) کشادہ کر دے، اسے پانی، برف اور اولے سے دھو دے، اسے گناہوں سے اس طرح صاف کر دے جیسے سفید کپڑا میل کچیل سے صاف کیا جاتا ہے، اس کو بدلے میں اس کے گھر سے اچھا گھر، اس کے گھر والوں سے بہتر گھر والے، اور اس کی بیوی سے اچھی بیوی عطا کر، اور اسے جنت میں داخل کر، اور جہنم کے عذاب سے نجات دے، یا فرمایا اسے عذاب قبر سے بچا“۔

Aouf bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ek mayyit par salah padhte suna, to main ne suna ke aap is ke liye dua mein yeh keh rahe the: «Allahummaghfir lahu wa rahmhu wa aafihi wa afu anhu wa akrim nazlahu wa wasee madkhalahu wa aghsilhu bil-maa-i wal-thalji wal-bard wa naqqihi min al-khataya kama naqqaitha al-thoub al-abyaḍ min al-duns wa abdilah dara khaira min darihi wa ahla khaira min ahlihi wa zauja khaira min zaujihi wa adkhilhu al-jannah wa najjihu min al-naar - aw qala - wa a'izihu min 'azab al-qabr‏» “Aye Allah! Is ki maghfirat farma, is par rahm kar, isay aafiyat de, isay maaf kar de, is ki ( behtarin ) mehmangawaazi farma, is ki ( qabr ) kashda kar de, isay pani, barf aur olae se dho de, isay gunahon se is tarah saf kar de jaise safed kapra mil kachil se saf kiya jata hai, is ko badale mein is ke ghar se acha ghar, is ke ghar walon se behtar ghar wale, aur is ki biwi se acchi biwi ata kar, aur isay jannat mein daakhil kar, aur jahannam ke azab se nijat de, ya farmaya isay azab qabr se bacha”.

أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الْكَلاَعِيِّ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَوْفَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَسَمِعْتُ فِي دُعَائِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ وَاغْسِلْهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ وَأَبْدِلْهُ دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ وَأَهْلاً خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَزَوْجًا خَيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِ وَأَدْخِلْهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَنَجِّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ - أَوْ قَالَ - وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1985

. Awf bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he heard the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) offer the funeral prayer and say - ُِ عَنْهُ وَعَافِهْحَمْهُ وَاعْفْ لَهُ وَاراللههُمه اغْفِر ُِ مْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَ س ِعْ مُدْخَلَهُ وَاغْسِلْهوَأَكْر ًَا خِ وَأَبْدِلْهُ دَارُ مِنَ الدهنَسْ بُ األَبْيَضَدٍ وَ نَق ِهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا يُنَقهى الثهوبِمَاءٍ وَ ثَلْجٍ وَبَر ْ جًاَ وًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَ زِ هِ وَأَهْالً خَيْرًا مِنْ دَاريْر َْ وًا مِنْ زخَيْر ِِ وَعَذَابَ النهارِ هِ وَقِهِ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرج [O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, forgive him and keep him safe and sound, honor the place where he settles and make his entrance wide; wash him with water and snow and hail, and cleanse him of his sin as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. Give him a house better than his house and a family better than his family and a spouse better than his spouse. Protect him from the torment of the grave and the torment of Hellfire]. Awf said, I wished that I was that deceased person because of the supplication that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) did said for him.

عبید بن خالد سلمی رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے دو آدمیوں کے درمیان بھائی چارہ کرایا، ان میں سے ایک قتل کر دیا گیا، اور دوسرا ( بھی ) اس کے بعد مر گیا، ہم نے اس کی نماز جنازہ پڑھی، تو نبی اکرم ﷺ نے پوچھا: ”تم لوگوں نے کیا دعا کی؟“، تو ان لوگوں نے کہا: ہم نے اس کے لیے یہ دعا کی: «اللہم اغفر له اللہم ارحمه اللہم ألحقه بصاحبه» ”اے اللہ! اس کی مغفرت فرما، اے اللہ اس پر رحم فرما، اے اللہ! اسے اپنے ساتھی سے ملا دے“ تو نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اس کی صلاۃ اس کی صلاۃ کے بعد کہاں جائے گی؟ اور اس کا عمل اس کے عمل کے بعد کہاں جائے گا؟ ان دونوں کے درمیان وہی دوری ہے جو آسمان و زمین کے درمیان ہے“۔ عمرو بن میمون کہتے ہیں: مجھے خوشی ہوئی کیونکہ عبداللہ بن ربیعہ سلمی رضی اللہ عنہ نے ( اس حدیث کو ) میرے لیے مسند کر دیا۔

Ubaid bin Khalid Salmi (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne do aadmiyon ke darmiyan bhai chaara karaya, in mein se ek qatl kar diya gaya, aur dusra ( bhi ) is ke baad mar gaya, hum ne is ki namaz janaza parhi, to Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne poocha: ”Tum logoon ne kya dua ki?“, to in logoon ne kaha: hum ne is ke liye yeh dua ki: «Allahummaghfir lahu, Allahumma rahmhu, Allahumma alhiqhu bi sahibhi» ”Aye Allah! Is ki maghfirat farma, Aye Allah is par rahm farma, Aye Allah! Isay apne sathi se mila de“ to Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Is ki salat is ki salat ke baad kahan jayegi? Aur is ka amal is ke amal ke baad kahan jayega? In dono ke darmiyan wahi doori hai jo aasman o zamin ke darmiyan hai“۔ Amr bin Maimoon kehte hain: Mujhe khushi hui kyunki Abdullah bin Rabi'a Salmi (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne ( is hadees ko ) mere liye musnad kar di.

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ مَيْمُونٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رُبَيِّعَةَ السُّلَمِيِّ، وَكَانَ، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ السُّلَمِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم آخَى بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ فَقُتِلَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَمَاتَ الآخَرُ بَعْدَهُ فَصَلَّيْنَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ مَا قُلْتُمْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالُوا دَعَوْنَا لَهُ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ اللَّهُمَّ أَلْحِقْهُ بِصَاحِبِهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ فَأَيْنَ صَلاَتُهُ بَعْدَ صَلاَتِهِ وَأَيْنَ عَمَلُهُ بَعْدَ عَمَلِهِ فَلَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ أَعْجَبَنِي لأَنَّهُ أَسْنَدَ لِي ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1986

It was narrated that Jubair bin Nufair Al-Hadrami said: I heard 'Awf bin Malik say: I heard the Messenger of Allah offering the funeral prayer for one who had died, and I heard him say in his supplication: Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu wa 'afihi, wa a'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu wa wassi' mudkhalahu waghsilhu bil-ma wath-thalji wal-barad, wa naqqihi min al-khataya kama naqqaita-thawb al-abyad min ad-danas. Wa abdilhu daran khairan min darihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi. Wa adkhilahul-jannah wa najjihi min an-nar (O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, keep him safe and sound and forgive him, honor the place where he settles and make his entrance wide; wash him with water and snow and hail, and cleanse him of his sin as you cleanse a white garment of dirt. O Allah, give him a house better than his house and a family better than his family and a wife better than his wife, and admit him to Paradise and save him from Hellfire). Or he said: Wa a'idhhu min 'adhab al-qabr (And protect him from the torment of the grave.)

ابوابراہیم انصاری اشہلی اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے نبی اکرم ﷺ کو میت پر نماز جنازہ میں کہتے سنا: «اللہم اغفر لحينا وميتنا وشاهدنا وغائبنا وذكرنا وأنثانا وصغيرنا وكبيرنا» ”اے اللہ! ہمارے زندہ اور مردہ کو، ہمارے حاضر اور غائب، ہمارے نر اور مادہ، ہمارے چھوٹے اور بڑے سب کو بخش دے“۔

Abu Hurairah Ansari Ash'ali reports from his father that he heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say in a funeral prayer: «Allahu-mmaghfir li-hayyina wa-mayyitina wa-shahidina wa-gha'ibina wa-dhakirina wa-unthana wa-saghirina wa-kabirina» “O Allah! Forgive our living and our dead, our present and our absent, our males and our females, our young and our old.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ فِي الصَّلاَةِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1987

Amr bin Maimun narrated from Abdullah bin Rubayy'ah As-Sulami (رضي الله تعالى عنه), who was also one of the Companions of Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) from 'Ubaid bin Khalid As-Sulami (رضي الله تعالى عنه), that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) established the bond of brotherhood between two men. One of them was killed and the other died after him. We offered the funeral prayer for him, and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘what did you say?’ They said - ِِ بِهِ قْهُ بِصَاحْ حَمْهُ اللههُمه أَلْحْ لَهُ اللههُمه اراللههُمه اغْفِر [O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, have mercy on him; O Allah, join him with his companion.] The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘where is his Salah in comparison to his companion's Salah? Where are his deeds in comparison to his companion's deeds? Indeed, the difference between heaven and Earth.’ (One of narrators) Amr bin Maimun Said, ‘I was happy with that because he raised it for me.’

طلحہ بن عبداللہ بن عوف کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے پیچھے جنازہ کی نماز پڑھی، تو انہوں نے سورۃ فاتحہ اور کوئی ایک سورت پڑھی، اور جہر کیا یہاں تک کہ آپ نے ہمیں سنا دیا، جب فارغ ہوئے تو میں نے ان کا ہاتھ پکڑا اور پوچھا: ( یہ کیا؟ ) تو انہوں نے کہا: ( یہی ) سنت ( نبی کا طریقہ ) ہے، اور ( یہی ) حق ہے۔

Talha bin Abdullah bin Auf kehte hain ke main ne Ibn Abbas razi Allahu anhuma ke peeche janaze ki namaz parhi to unhon ne Surah Fatiha aur koi aik surat parhi aur jahr kia yahan tak ke aap ne hamen suna dia jab farigh huye to main ne un ka hath pakra aur poocha yeh kia to unhon ne kaha yehi sunnat nabi ka tareeqa hai aur yehi haq hai

أَخْبَرَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعْدٍ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَقَرَأَ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ وَجَهَرَ حَتَّى أَسْمَعَنَا فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ أَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ سُنَّةٌ وَحَقٌّ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1988

Abu Ibrahim Al-Ansari narrated from his father, that he heard the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) say, when offering the funeral prayer for one who had died - ِ نَاْ لِحَي ِنَا وَمَي ِتِنَا وَ شَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا وَذَكَراللههُمه اغْفِرِ نَاِ نَا وَكَبِيروَأُنْثَانَا وَ صَغِير [O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those who are present among us and those who are absent, our males and our females, our young and our old].

طلحہ بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے پیچھے ایک جنازے کی نماز پڑھی، تو میں نے انہیں سورۃ فاتحہ پڑھتے سنا، تو جب وہ سلام پھیر چکے تو میں نے ان کا ہاتھ پکڑا، اور پوچھا: آپ ( نماز جنازہ میں ) قرآن پڑھتے ہیں؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: جی ہاں، ( یہی ) حق اور سنت ہے۔

Tulaha bin Abdillah kehte hain ke main ne Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke pichhe ek janaze ki namaz padhi, to main ne unhen Surah Fatiha padhte suna, to jab woh salam phir chuke to main ne un ka hath pakra, aur poocha: Aap ( namaz janaza mein ) Quran padhte hain? To unhon ne kaha: Ji han, ( yehi ) haq aur sunnat hai.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ، بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ أَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ تَقْرَأُ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنَّهُ حَقٌّ وَسُنَّةٌ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1989

Talhah bin 'Abdullah bin Awf narrated that he offered the funeral prayer behind Ibn Abbas. He recited Fatihat Al-Kitab and a Surah, which he recited loudly, such that we could hear him. When he finished I took him by the hand and asked him. He said, '(it is) sunnah and the truth.’

ابوامامہ اسعد بن سہل بن حنیف رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں نماز جنازہ میں سنت یہ ہے کہ پہلی تکبیر کے بعد سورۃ فاتحہ آہستہ پڑھی جائے، پھر تین تکبیریں کہی جائیں، اور آخر میں سلام پھیرا جائے ۔

Abooamamah As'ad bin Sahl bin Hanif (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain namaz janaza mein sunnat yeh hai ke pehli takbeer ke ba'd sura e fatiha aahista padhi jaye, phir teen takbeerein kahi jayen, aur aakhir mein salam phirra jaye.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ السُّنَّةُ فِي الصَّلاَةِ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ فِي التَّكْبِيرَةِ الأُولَى بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ مُخَافَتَةً ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرَ ثَلاَثًا وَالتَّسْلِيمُ عِنْدَ الآخِرَةِ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1990

Talhah bin 'Abdullah bin Awf narrated that he offered the funeral prayer behind Ibn Abbas. He recited Fatihat Al-Kitab. When he finished, I took him by the hand and asked him. 'did you recite?' He said, 'yes, it is the truth and the Sunnah.’

Dhuhaak bin Qais Dimashqi (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se asi jisi hadees marwi hai.
