Sunan an-Nasa'i 5529
Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he heard the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) say - اللَّهُمَّ إِّن ِّي أَعُوذُ بِّعَظَمَتِّكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِّنْ تَحْتِّي [O Allah, I seek refuge in Your greatness from being swallowed up from beneath me]. This Hadith is brief. Jubair (one of the narrators) said the meaning of ‘swallowed beneath me’ is get inside the earth when it caves in beneath someone. He said, he does not know if this the saying of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) or his own statement.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو کہتے ہوئے سنا: «اللہم إني أعوذ بعظمتك أن أغتال من تحتي» ”اے اللہ! میں تیری عظمت اور بڑائی کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں اس بات سے کہ میں نیچے کی طرف سے کسی آفت میں پھنس جاؤں“۔ یہ حدیث مختصر ہے۔ جبیر کہتے ہیں: اس سے مراد زمین میں دھنس جانا ہے۔ عبادہ کہتے ہیں: مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ یہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کا قول ہے یا جبیر کا۔
Abdul'lah bin Umar radi'allahu 'anhuma kehte hain ke main ne rasool'allah sal'llahu 'alaihi wa sallam ko kehte huwe suna: «Allahumma inni a'uzu bi'azmatika an ughtal min tahti» “Aye Allah! Main teri 'azmat aur bar'ai ki panah mangta hun is baat se ke main neeche ki taraf se kisi aaft mein phans jaoon”۔ yeh hadith mukhtaasir hai. Jubair kehte hain: is se Murad zameen mein dhans jana hai. 'Abadah kehte hain: mujhe nahi maloom ke yeh rasool'allah sal'llahu 'alaihi wa sallam ka qoul hai ya Jubair ka.
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جُبَيْرُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي " . قَالَ جُبَيْرٌ وَهُوَ الْخَسْفُ . قَالَ عُبَادَةُ فَلاَ أَدْرِي قَوْلَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَوْ قَوْلَ جُبَيْرٍ .
