Sunan an-Nasa'i 595
Nafi' said : "I went out with 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) on a journey to some of his land. Then someone came to him and said : 'Safiyyah bint Abi 'Ubaid ( رضي الله تعالى عنها) is sick, try to get there before it is too late.' He set out quickly, accompanied by a man of the Quraish. The sun set but he did not pray, although I knew him to be very careful about praying on time. When he slowed down I said: 'The prayer, may Allah have mercy on you.' He turned to me but carried on until the twilight was almost gone, then he stopped and prayed Maghrib, then he said the Iqamah for 'Isha', at that time the twilight had totally disappeared and led us in prayer. Then he turned to us and said: 'If the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was in a hurry to travel he would do this.'"

نافع کہتے ہیں کہ میں عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کے ساتھ ایک سفر میں نکلا، وہ اپنی زمین ( کھیتی ) کا ارادہ کر رہے تھے، اتنے میں ایک آنے والا آیا، اور اس نے کہا: آپ کی بیوی صفیہ بنت ابو عبید سخت بیمار ہیں تو آپ جا کر ان سے مل لیجئے، چنانچہ وہ بڑی تیز رفتاری سے چلے اور ان کے ساتھ ایک قریشی تھا وہ بھی ساتھ جا رہا تھا، آفتاب غروب ہوا تو انہوں نے نماز نہیں پڑھی، اور مجھے معلوم تھا کہ وہ نماز کی بڑی محافظت کرتے ہیں، تو جب انہوں نے تاخیر کی تو میں نے کہا: اللہ آپ پر رحم کرے! نماز پڑھ لیجئیے، تو وہ میری طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور چلتے رہے یہاں تک کہ جب شفق ڈوبنے لگی تو اترے، اور مغرب پڑھی، پھر عشاء کی تکبیر کہی، اس وقت شفق غائب ہو گئی تھی، انہوں نے ہمیں ( عشاء کی ) نماز پڑھائی، پھر ہماری طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور کہنے لگے: جب رسول اللہ ﷺ کو چلنے کی جلدی ہوتی تو ایسا ہی کرتے تھے۔
Nafih kehte hain ke main `Abd-al-llah bin `Umar radiyallahu `anhum ke sath aik safar mein nikla, woh apni zamin (kheti) ka irada kar rahe the, itne mein ek aane wala aya, aur us ne kaha: Aap ki biwi Safiyah bint Abu `Ubaid sakht bimar hain to aap ja kar un se mil lijye, chanancha woh bari tez raftaari se chale aur un ke sath ek Quraishi tha woh bhi sath ja raha tha, aftab ghurub hua to unhon ne namaz nahin padhi, aur mujhe maloom tha ke woh namaz ki bari muhafizat karte hain, to jab unhon ne takhir ki to maine kaha: Allah aap par rahm kare! namaz padh lijye, to woh meri taraf mutawajjih hue aur chalte rahe yahaan tak ke jab shafaq dubne lagi to utre, aur maghrib padhi, phir isha ki takbir kahi, is waqt shafaq ghaib ho gai thi, unhon ne hamen (isha ki) namaz padhai, phir hamari taraf mutawajjih hue aur kahne lage: Jab Rasool-allah sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam ko chalne ki jaldi hoti to aisa hi karte the.
أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فِي سَفَرٍ يُرِيدُ أَرْضًا لَهُ فَأَتَاهُ آتٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ لَمَا بِهَا فَانْظُرْ أَنْ تُدْرِكَهَا . فَخَرَجَ مُسْرِعًا وَمَعَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يُسَايِرُهُ وَغَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ الصَّلاَةَ وَكَانَ عَهْدِي بِهِ وَهُوَ يُحَافِظُ عَلَى الصَّلاَةِ فَلَمَّا أَبْطَأَ قُلْتُ الصَّلاَةَ يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ . فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَىَّ وَمَضَى حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ الشَّفَقِ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ أَقَامَ الْعِشَاءَ وَقَدْ تَوَارَى الشَّفَقُ فَصَلَّى بِنَا ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا عَجِلَ بِهِ السَّيْرُ صَنَعَ هَكَذَا .
