Regarding the dislike of cauterization and incantations.
فِي كَرَاهِيَةِ الْكَيِّ وَالرُّقَى
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 23621
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The nations were presented before me. So a very large number appeared, so I asked, 'Is this my Ummah?' It was said, 'This is Moses and his people.' You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said. Then it was said to me, 'Look towards the sky.' So when I looked, there was a large number that had filled the horizon. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said. It was said, 'This is your Ummah and seventy thousand of them will enter Paradise without account.'" Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went inside and you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not say anything more about them. So the people overflowed and began to say, 'We have believed in Allah and we have followed His Messenger. So we are those people. Or its proof is our children who were born in the state of Islam.' The narrator says, "This matter reached the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Those are the ones who will not get amulets and will not take omens and will not get branded, but will trust in their Lord.'"
حضرت ابن عباس سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” مجھ پر اُمّتوں کو پیش کیا گیا۔ پس ایک بہت بڑی تعداد نظر آئی تو میں نے پوچھا۔ یہ میری امت ہے ؟ کہا گیا۔ یہ حضرت موسیٰ اور ان کی قوم ہے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فرماتے ہیں۔ پھر مجھے کہا گیا۔ آسمان کی طرف دیکھو۔ چنانچہ میں نے دیکھا تو ایک بڑی تعداد تھی جس نے افق کو بھر دیا تھا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فرماتے ہیں۔ کہا گیا۔ یہ آپ کی امت ہے اور ان میں سے ستر ہزار بغیر حساب کے جنت میں جائیں گے۔ “ پھر جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اندر تشریف لے گئے اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کے بارے میں مزید بیان نہیں کیا۔ تو لوگ افاض اور کہنے لگے۔ ہم لوگ اللہ پر ایمان لائے ہیں اور ہم نے اس کے رسول کی اتباع کی ہے۔ پس ہم ہی وہ لوگ ہیں۔ یا اس کا مصداق ہمارے وہ بچے ہیں جو اسلام کی حالت میں پیدا ہوئے۔ راوی کہتے ہیں۔ یہ بات جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو پہنچی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” یہ وہ لوگ ہوں گے جو تعویذ نہیں کروائیں گے اور فال نہیں نکالیں گے اور نہ داغیں گے بلکہ اپنے پروردگار پر بھروسہ کریں گے۔ “
Hazrat Ibn Abbas se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Mujh per ummaton ko pesh kiya gaya. Pas ek bohat bari tadaad nazar aai to maine poocha. Yeh meri ummat hai? Kaha gaya. Yeh Hazrat Moosa aur unki qaum hai. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) farmate hain. Phir mujhe kaha gaya. Aasman ki taraf dekho. Chunanche maine dekha to ek bari tadaad thi jisne ufq ko bhar diya tha. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) farmate hain. Kaha gaya. Yeh aap ki ummat hai aur in mein se sattar hazaar baghair hisab ke jannat mein jayenge." Phir janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) andar tashreef le gaye aur aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne unke bare mein mazeed bayan nahi kiya. To log afraad aur kehne lage. Hum log Allah per iman laye hain aur humne uske rasool ki ittiba ki hai. Pas hum hi woh log hain. Ya iska misdaq humare woh bache hain jo Islam ki halat mein paida huye. Rawi kehte hain. Yeh baat janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko pahunchi to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Yeh woh log honge jo taweez nahi karwayenge aur faal nahi nikalenge aur na daagenge balkeh apne parwardigaar per bharosa karenge."
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Jabir bin Abdullah that he said: Once one of us fell severely ill. The physicians said: "This man can only be cured by branding (cauterization)." So his family decided to have him branded. But then some of them said: "No, not until we ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." So they asked him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: "No." Then the man recovered. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw him, he said: "Is this the man from such and such a tribe?" They said: "Yes." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If this man had been branded, people would have said that it was the branding that cured him."
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ سے روایت ہے۔ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم میں سے ایک آدمی کو (کسی مرض کی) شدید شکایت ہوگئی تو اطباء نے کہا۔ یہ آدمی صرف داغنے سے صحیح ہوگا۔ اس کے گھر والوں نے ارادہ کیا کہ وہ اس کو داغ لگوا دیں۔ لیکن پھر بعض نے کہا۔ نہیں۔ یہاں تک کہ ہم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے پوچھ لیں۔ چنانچہ انھوں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے پوچھا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” نہیں “ پھر وہ آدمی ٹھیک ہوگیا۔ جب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو دیکھا تو ارشاد فرمایا : ” یہ فلاں قبیلہ کا آدمی ہے ؟ “ لوگوں نے کہا : جی ہاں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” یہ آدمی اگر داغا جاتا تو لوگ یہی کہتے کہ اس کو داغنے نے صحت یاب کردیا ہے۔ “
Hazrat Jabar bin Abdullah se riwayat hai. Kehte hain ki hum mein se ek aadmi ko (kisi marz ki) shadid shikayat hogayi to atibba ne kaha. Ye aadmi sirf daaghne se sahih hoga. Iske ghar walon ne irada kiya ki woh isko daagh lagwa den. Lekin phir baaz ne kaha. Nahi. Yahan tak ki hum Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se pooch len. Chunanche unhon ne aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se poocha to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya : ” Nahi “ Phir woh aadmi theek hogaya. Jab Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne isko dekha to irshad farmaya : ” Ye falan qabeele ka aadmi hai ? “ Logon ne kaha : Ji haan. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya : ” Ye aadmi agar daagha jata to log yahi kehte ki isko daaghne ne sehat yaab kardiya hai. “
Hazrat Aqar narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever wears an amulet or gets himself branded has not put his trust (in Allah)."
حضرت عقّار اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے منقول ہے، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” جو شخص تعویذ کروائے یا داغ لگوائے اس آدمی نے توکل نہیں کیا۔ “
Hazrat Aqar apne walid se riwayat karte hain ke Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se manqool hai, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya : ” Jo shakhs taweez karwaye ya daagh lagwaye us aadmi ne tawakkal nahin kiya. “
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: One night we were conversing in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). During this, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Seventy thousand people will enter Paradise without any accountability. These will be the people who will neither get themselves branded (with hot iron) nor will they get amulets and charms made, nor will they indulge in bad omens, but they will put their trust in their Lord."
حضرت ابن مسعود سے روایت ہے کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایک رات رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس گفتگو کر رہے تھے۔ اس دوران نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” ستر ہزار لوگ جنت میں یوں داخل ہوں گے کہ ان پر کوئی حساب و کتاب نہیں ہوگا۔ یہ وہ لوگ ہوں گے جو داغ نہیں لگوائیں گے اور نہ ہی تعویذ کروائیں گے اور نہ ہی بدفالی کریں گے بلکہ وہ اپنے پروردگار پر بھروسہ کریں گے۔
Hazrat Ibn Masood se riwayat hai kehte hain ke hum aik raat Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke paas guftugu kar rahe the. Is dauran Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Sattar hazaar log jannat mein yun dakhil honge ke un par koi hisab o kitab nahi hoga. Yeh woh log honge jo daag nahi lagaenge aur na hi taweez karwaenge aur na hi badfali karenge balke woh apne parwardigaar par bharosa karenge."
Hazrat Muhammad bin Amr, narrates from his father, from his grandfather that I got smallpox in the time of Hazrat Umar. So an Arab was called to cauterize me. He refused to do so without the permission of Hazrat Umar. Upon this, my father went to Hazrat Umar and told him about this incident, so Hazrat Umar said: Do not go near fire because this patient has a fixed time, which this patient can neither exceed nor lag behind.
حضرت محمد بن عمرو، اپنے والد، اپنے دادا سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ مجھے حضرت عمر کے زمانہ میں ذات الجنب ہوگیا۔ تو ایک اعرابی کو مجھے داغنے کے لیے بلایا گیا۔ اس نے حضرت عمر کی اجازت کے بغیر ایسا کرنے سے انکار کردیا۔ اس پر میرے والد حضرت عمر کی خدمت میں گئے اور انھیں یہ واقعہ بتایا تو حضرت عمر نے کہا۔ تم آگ کے قریب نہ جانا کیونکہ اس مریض کا ایک وقت مقرر ہے جس سے یہ مریض نہ تو آگے ہوسکتا ہے اور نہ ہی پھے ت رہ سکتا ہے۔
Hazrat Muhammad bin Amro apne walid apne dada se riwayat karte hain ke mujhe Hazrat Umar ke zamane mein zaat-ul-janb hogaya to ek arabi ko mujhe daghne ke liye bulaya gaya usne Hazrat Umar ki ijazat ke baghair aisa karne se inkaar kar diya is par mere walid Hazrat Umar ki khidmat mein gaye aur unhen ye waqeya bataya to Hazrat Umar ne kaha tum aag ke qareeb na jana kyunki is mariz ka ek waqt muqarrar hai jisse ye mariz na to aage ho sakta hai aur na hi peeche reh sakta hai
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Imran bin Abi Anas that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I forbid from opening water (during wudu) and I dislike branding."
حضرت عمران بن ابی انس سے روایت ہے، کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا ” میں کھولتے ہوئے پانی سے منع کرتا ہوں اور داغنے کو ناپسند کرتا ہوں۔ “
Hazrat Imran bin Abi Anas se riwayat hai, kehte hain ke Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya "main kholte hue pani se mana karta hun aur daghne ko napasand karta hun."
‘Aqra reported from his father that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever practices cauterization or seeks treatment from Ruqyah (incantations or amulets) has left the protection of Allah.”
حضرت علقمہ اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا "جس نے داغ لگایا یا لگوایا یا جھاڑ پھونک کروائی اس نے اللہ کی شفا سے خود کو الگ کر لیا"۔
Hazrat Alqama apne walid se riwayat karte hain ke Nabi Kareem sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya "Jis ne daagh lagaaya ya laguwaaya ya jhaar phonk karwai us ne Allah ki shifa se khud ko alag kar liya".
