Who receives from the fifth of the spoils and how it is distributed
مَنْ يُعْطَى مِنَ الْخُمُسِ وَفِيمَنْ يُوضَعُ

Hazrat Mak'hul (may Allah be pleased with him) said that Khums is like Fay'. The Imam will give it to both the rich and the poor.
Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz wrote: The way of general Fay' is also the way of Khums.
حضرت مکحول (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ خمس بھی فئی کی طرح ہے، اس میں سے امام مالدار اور فقیر دونوں کو دے گا۔
حضرت عمر بن عبدالعزیز نے تحریر فرمایا : جو عام فئی کا راستہ ہے وہ خمس کا بھی راستہ ہے۔
Hazrat Makhool (RA) farmate hain keh khums bhi fay ki tarah hai, is mein se Imam maldar aur faqir dono ko de ga.
Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz ne tahreer farmaya: Jo aam fay ka rasta hai wo khums ka bhi rasta hai.
Hazrat Hajjaj bin Sabit narrates: "I was informed that two people from Banu Abdul Muttalib came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked for charity money. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Not now, but when you see that I have the Khums money, then you may come to me (and I will grant you).'"
حضرت حجاج بن ثابت فرماتے ہیں کہ مجھے خبر پہنچی ہے کہ بنو عبدالمطلب کے دو شخص حضور اقدس (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور صدقہ کا مال مانگا۔ حضور اقدس (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ابھی نہیں لیکن جب تم دیکھو میرے پاس خمس کا مال موجود ہے تو پھر تم میرے پاس آنا (میں عطا کر دوں گا) ۔
Hazrat Hajjaj bin Sabit farmate hain keh mujhe khabar pahunchi hai keh Banu Abdul Muttalib ke do shakhs huzoor aqdas (Sallal laho alaihi wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hue aur sadqah ka maal maanga. Huzoor aqdas (Sallal laho alaihi wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Abhi nahi lekin jab tum dekho mere pass khums ka maal mojood hai to phir tum mere pass aana (main ataa kar doonga).
Hazrat Mujahid says that charity is not permissible for Aal e Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family). They will receive one-fifth of the Khums.
حضرت مجاہد فرماتے ہیں کہ آل محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لیے صدقہ حلال نہیں ہے۔ ان کو خمس کا خمس ملے گا۔
Hazrat Mujahid farmate hain ke Aal e Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke liye sadqah halal nahi hai. Un ko khums ka khums mile ga.
It is narrated from Hazrat Hassan that Hazrat Umar (RA) granted ten thousand, nine thousand, eight thousand and seven thousand to a person from the spoils of war.
حضرت حسن سے مروی ہے کہ حضرت عمر (رض) نے مال فیٔ میں سے ایک شخص کو دس ہزار، نو ہزار، آٹھ ہزار اور سات ہزار عطا فرمائے۔
Hazrat Hassan se marvi hai ki Hazrat Umar (RA) ne mal fai mein se aik shakhs ko das hazar, nau hazar, aath hazar aur saat hazar ata farmaye.
It was asked from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (R.A) that how did the Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to distribute Khums? Hazrat Jabir (R.A) said: The Prophet of Allah (PBUH) used to give one part from it to a Mujahid, then to the second and then to the third.
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ (رض) سے دریافت کیا گیا کہ حضور اقدس (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) خمس کو کس طرح تقسیم فرماتے تھے ؟ حضرت جابر (رض) نے ارشاد فرمایا : اللہ کے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس میں سے ایک مجاہد کو دیتے پھر دوسرے کو پھر تیسرے کو عطا فرماتے۔
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) se daryaft kiya gaya keh Huzoor Aqdas (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) khums ko kis tarah taqseem farmate thay? Hazrat Jabir (RA) ne irshad farmaya: Allah ke Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is mein se aik mujahid ko dete phir doosre ko phir teesre ko ata farmate.
