It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas that Sad bin Ubadah asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the vow that was binding on his mother and she died before fulfilling it. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Fulfill this vow on her behalf."
حضرت ابن عباس سے روایت ہے کہ سعد بن عبادہ نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے اس نذر کے بارے میں سوال کیا جو ان کی والدہ پر لازم تھی اور وہ اس کو پورا کرنے سے پہلے ہی وفات پا گئی تھیں، تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اس نذر کو تم ان کی طرف سے پورا کرو۔
Hazrat Ibn Abbas se riwayat hai ki Saad bin Ubadah ne Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se is nazar ke bare mein sawal kiya jo un ki walida par lazim thi aur wo is ko poora karne se pehle hi wafaat pa gayi thin, to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya : is nazar ko tum un ki taraf se poora karo.
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Buraidah, on the authority of his father, that I was sitting in the company of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when a woman came to him and said: "There were two months of obligatory fasts due from my mother. May I fast them on her behalf?" He (ﷺ) said: "Observe fast on her behalf. Tell me, if your mother had a debt (to pay) and you discharged it, would it suffice for her?" She said: "Yes." He (ﷺ) said: "So observe fast on her behalf."
حضرت ابن بریدہ ، اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت اقدس میں بیٹھا ہوا تھا کہ ایک عورت حاضر ہوئی اور اس نے کہا۔ میری والدہ پر دو ماہ کے روزے (لازم) تھے۔ کیا میں ان کی طرف سے یہ روزے رکھ سکتی ہوں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم ان کی طرف سے روزے رکھو۔ تو بتاؤ اگر تمہاری والدہ پر قرض ہوتا اور تم اس کو ادا کرتی تو کیا یہ کافی ہوجاتا ؟ انھوں نے عرض کیا : کیوں نہیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : پس پھر تم ان کی طرف سے روزے رکھو۔
Hazrat Ibn Buraidah apne walid se riwayat karte hain ke main aap ki khidmat e aqdas mein baitha hua tha ke ek aurat hazir hui aur us ne kaha meri walida par do mah ke roze lazim thay kya main un ki taraf se ye roze rakh sakti hun aap ne farmaya tum un ki taraf se roze rakho to batao agar tumhari walida par qarz hota aur tum us ko ada karti to kya ye kaafi hojata unhon ne arz kya kyun nahin aap ne farmaya pas phir tum un ki taraf se roze rakho
Hazrat Sunan bin Abdullah Jahni narrates that his aunt told him that she went to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! My mother has passed away in a state where she had vowed to walk to Makkah. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Can you walk to Makkah on her behalf? She said: Yes! He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Then you walk to Makkah on her behalf. The questioner asked: Will this suffice on her behalf? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Yes! And said: Tell me, if your mother had a debt and you paid it off, would it be accepted on behalf of your mother? She submitted. Yes! He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah is more deserving. (That His right should be fulfilled). And the saying of (Imam) Abu Hanifa has been mentioned that: This thing will not suffice the deceased.
حضرت سنان بن عبداللہ جہنی بیان کرتے ہیں کہ انھیں ان کی پھوپھی نے بیان کیا کہ وہ نبی پاک (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس حاضر ہوئیں اور انھوں نے کہا : یا رسول اللہ ! میری والدہ اس حال میں وفات پا گئی ہیں کہ ان پر مکہ کی طرف پیدل آنے کی نذر لازم تھی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : کیا تم اس کی طرف سے مکہ کی طرف پیدل آسکتی ہو ؟ انھوں نے کہا : جی ہاں ! آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : پھر تم ان کی طرف سے چل کر مکہ آؤ۔ سائلہ نے پوچھا : کیا یہ ان کی طرف سے کفایت کر جائے گا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ہاں ! اور فرمایا : تم بتاؤ کہ اگر تمہاری والدہ پر قرض ہوتا اور تم اس کو ادا کرتی تو کیا یہ تمہاری والدہ کی طرف سے قبول کرلیا جاتا ؟ انھوں نے عرض کیا۔ جی ہاں ! آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اللہ زیادہ حق دار ہے۔ (کہ اس کا حق ادا کیا جائے) ۔
اور (امام) ابوحنیفہ کا قول یہ ذکر کیا گیا ہے کہ : یہ چیز میت کو کفایت نہیں کرے گی۔
Hazrat Sinan bin Abdullah Jahni bayan karte hain ke unhen un ki phoophi ne bayan kya ke woh Nabi Pak (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke pass hazir hui aur unhon ne kaha: Ya Rasulullah! meri walida is hal mein wafaat pa gai hain ke un per Makkah ki taraf paidal aane ki nazar lazim thi. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: kya tum us ki taraf se Makkah ki taraf paidal aa sakti ho? Unhon ne kaha: Ji haan! Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: phir tum un ki taraf se chal kar Makkah aao. Saila ne poocha: kya yeh un ki taraf se kafaayat kar jayega, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: Haan! aur farmaya: tum batao ke agar tumhari walida per qarz hota aur tum us ko ada karti to kya yeh tumhari walida ki taraf se qubool kar liya jata? Unhon ne arz kya. Ji haan! Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: Allah zyada haqdaar hai. (ke us ka haq ada kiya jaye).
Aur (Imam) Abu Hanifa ka qaul yeh zikar kya gaya hai ke: yeh cheez mayyat ko kafaayat nahin karegi.
