It is narrated from Hazrat Hasan that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Pray four rak'ahs at night, even if you pray two rak'ahs." The one who makes Tahajjud prayer a habit, an announcer announces for them: "O people of the house! Get up for your prayer."
حضرت حسن سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ رات کو چار رکعت نماز پڑھو، یہ نماز پڑھو خواہ دو رکعتیں پڑھو۔ جس گھر کے لوگ تہجد کی نماز کو اپنا معمول بنا لیتے ہیں ان کے لیے ایک اعلان کرنے والا اعلان کرتا ہے : اے گھر والو ! اپنی نماز کے لیے اٹھو۔
Hazrat Hasan se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya keh raat ko chaar rakat namaz parho, yeh namaz parho chahe do rakatein parho. Jis ghar ke log tahajud ki namaz ko apna mamol bana lete hain un ke liye ek elaan karne wala elaan karta hai: Aye ghar walo! Apni namaz ke liye utho.
It is narrated from Hazrat Hasan that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: May Allah have mercy on the man who prays Tahajjud and then wakes up his wife and she prays Tahajjud. May Allah have mercy on the woman who prays Tahajjud and then wakes up her husband and he prays Tahajjud.
حضرت حسن سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : اللہ تعالیٰ اس شخص پر رحم فرمائے جو تہجد کی نماز پڑھے پھر اپنی بیوی کو جگائے اور وہ تہجد کی نماز پڑھے ۔ اللہ تعالیٰ اس عورت پر رحم فرمائے جو تہجد کی نماز پڑھے اور پھر اپنے خاوند کو جگائے اور وہ تہجد کی نماز پڑھے۔
Hazrat Hassan se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Allah Ta'ala uss shakhs par reham farmaye jo Tahajjud ki namaz parhe phir apni biwi ko jagaye aur wo Tahajjud ki namaz parhe. Allah Ta'ala uss aurat par reham farmaye jo Tahajjud ki namaz parhe aur phir apne khawind ko jagaye aur wo Tahajjud ki namaz parhe.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) considered it desirable (Mustahab) to offer Tahajjud prayer, even if it is for a short duration equivalent to the time it takes to milk a goat.
حضرت محمد اس بات کو مستحب قرار دیتے تھے کہ آدمی تہجد کی نماز نہ چھوڑے خواہ بکری کا دودھ دوہنے کی مقدار کے برابر ہی کیوں نہ ہو۔
Hazrat Muhammad is baat ko mustahab qarar dete thay keh aadmi tahajjud ki namaz na chhore chahe bakri ka doodh dohnay ke miqdar ke barabar hi kyun na ho.
Hazrat Abdullah narrates that the reward of night prayer is as much greater than the reward of day prayer, as the reward of giving charity secretly is greater than the reward of giving charity openly.
حضرت عبداللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رات کی نماز کا ثواب دن کی نماز سے اتنا زیادہ ہے جتنا خفیہ صدقہ کرنے کا ثواب اعلانیہ صدقہ کرنے سے زیادہ ہے۔
Hazrat Abdullah farmate hain ke raat ki namaz ka sawab din ki namaz se itna ziada hai jitna khufiya sadqa karne ka sawab elaniya sadqa karne se ziada hai.
The grandmother of Hazrat Zubair bin Abd Allah bin Rahima narrates that Hazrat Usman used to fast regularly and offer Tahajjud prayers at night. However, he used to sleep a little in the beginning of the night.
حضرت زبیر بن عبداللہ بن رہیمہ کی دادی فرماتی ہیں کہ حضرت عثمان ہمیشہ روزہ رکھتے تھے اور رات کو قیام کرتے تھے۔ البتہ رات کے ابتدائی حصے میں تھوڑا سا لیٹ جاتے تھے۔
Hazrat Zubair bin Abdullah bin Rahima ki dadi farmati hain ke Hazrat Usman hamesha roza rakhte thay aur raat ko qayam karte thay. Albatta raat ke ibtidai hisse mein thora sa lait jate thay.
Hazrat Abdullah narrates that the mention of a man was made before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who had slept at night such that he continued sleeping till morning. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that Satan had urinated in his ear.
حضرت عبداللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے سامنے ایک آدمی کا ذکر کیا گیا کہ وہ رات کو ایسا سویا کہ صبح تک سویا رہا۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا کہ شیطان نے اس کے کانوں میں پیشاب کردیا ۔
Hazrat Abdullah farmate hain keh Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke samne ek aadmi ka zikar kya gaya keh woh raat ko aisa soya keh subah tak soya raha. Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya keh shaitan ne uske kano mein peshab kardiya.
Hazrat Abu Huraira and Hazrat Abu Saeed narrated that when a person wakes his wife at night and both offer Tahajjud prayer, both are included among those men and women who remember Allah excessively.
حضرت ابوہریرہ اور حضرت ابو سعید فرماتے ہیں کہ جب آدمی رات کو اپنی بیوی کو جگائے اور دونوں تہجد پڑھیں وہ دونوں بہت زیادہ ذکر کرنے والے مردوں اور ذکر کرنے والی عورتوں میں لکھ دیئے جاتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah aur Hazrat Abu Saeed farmate hain ke jab aadmi raat ko apni biwi ko jagaye aur dono tahajud parhain wo dono bohat ziada zikr karne wale mardon aur zikr karne wali auraton mein likh diye jate hain.
