Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 26075
Hazrat Abbad narrates that a man from the tribe of Banu Layth came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Should I recite poetry to you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said three times: No. Then, when he got permission for the fourth time, he recited poetry in praise of you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If any poet does good, then you have done good.
حضرت عباد فرماتے ہیں کہ قبیلہ بنو لیث کا ایک آدمی نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں آیا اور کہا : یا رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ! کیا میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو شعر سناؤں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے تین مرتبہ فرمایا : نہیں : پھر چوتھی مرتبہ اجازت ملنے کی صورت میں انھوں نے مدحیہ اشعار سنائے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اگر کوئی شاعر نیکی کرتا ہے تو تو نے نیکی کی ہے۔
Hazrat Abbad farmate hain keh qabeela Banu Lais ka aik aadmi Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein aaya aur kaha: Ya Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Kia main aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko sher sunaun? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne teen martaba farmaya: Nahin. Phir chauthi martaba ijazat milne ki surat mein unhon ne madhiya ashaar sunae to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: Agar koi shayar neki karta hai to tune neki ki hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعُودُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ : " أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي لَيْثٍ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أُنْشِدُكَ ؟ قَالَ : « لَا »، فَأَنْشَدَهُ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ مَدْحَةً لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : « إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الشُّعَرَاءِ يُحْسِنُ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنْتَ »
