Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 36612
Hazrat Hassan narrates that Suraqah bin Malik al-Mudlaji told people that Quraysh had announced a reward of forty ounces for the capture of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Hazrat Abu Bakr. He said, "I was sitting when a man came to me and said, 'The men for whom Quraysh announced their reward are near you, in such and such a place.' He said, 'I came to my horse, and it was grazing. I took it and ran. Then I took hold of my spear.' He said, 'I mounted it, and I began to drag the spear for fear that someone might share with me in the reward for the two of them.' He said, 'So when I saw the two of them, Hazrat Abu Bakr said, 'This is the seeker who is searching.' The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned to me and said, 'O Allah! Let him suffice us as You will.' Suraqah said, 'My horse sank into the ground, even though I was on hard ground. And I fell on a stone and flipped over, so I said, 'Pray to the One who has done what I see with my horse to get it out of here.' He said, 'You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed for Suraqah, so the horse came out.' Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Will you give this to me as a gift?' I said, 'Yes!' You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Then stay here.' Then you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Conceal our situation from the people.' 2. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took the coastal route along the sea. He said, 'I was his seeker at the beginning of the day and his protector at the end of the day. And you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me, 'When we make Medina our destination, then if you wish, come to us.' Suraqah said, 'Then when you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) arrived in Medina, and you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gained dominance over the people of Badr and Uhud. The people and those around you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) embraced Islam.' Suraqah said, 'It reached me that you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were intending to send Hazrat Khalid bin Walid towards Bani Mudlij.' He said, 'I appeared in your (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) service and I said to you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), 'I remind you of the promise of reward.' People started saying, 'Stop it!' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Leave him.' Then you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'What is your intention?' I said, 'It has reached me that you intend to send Khalid bin Walid towards my people. And it is beloved to me that you make a covenant with them. Then, if their people embrace faith, they too will embrace faith. And if their people do not embrace faith, then their hearts will not be hardened against them because of their people.' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took the hand of Hazrat Khalid bin Walid and said to him, 'Go with him and do as he wishes.' 3. So Hazrat Khalid bin Walid went to Bani Mudlij and made this agreement with them that they would not help against you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). If Quraysh embraced Islam, they too would embrace Islam with them. (Upon this) Allah Almighty revealed these verses: {They wish that you should disbelieve as they disbelieve... until it reached... Except those who join a people between whom and you there is a treaty, or those who come to you, their hearts restrained, that they should fight you, or that they should fight their own people. And if Allah had willed, He would have given them power over you, and they would have fought you.} Hazrat Hassan says, "The people about whom 'Hasirat Sadurahim' (their hearts restrained) was said are Bani Mudlij. Whoever joined Bani Mudlij, then he would be like them in the treaty."
حضرت حسن سے روایت ہے کہ سراقہ بن مالک المدلجی نے لوگوں کو بیان کیا کہ قریش نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اور حضرت ابوبکر کے متعلق چالیس اوقیہ مقرر فرمائی ۔ کہتے ہیں۔ میں بیٹھا ہوا تھا کہ اس دوران ایک آدمی میرے پاس آیا اور اس نے کہا۔ وہ آدمی جن کے بارے میں قریش نے اپنا اعلانِ (انعام) کیا ہے۔ تمہارے قریب ہیں۔ فلاں جگہ پر، کہتے ہیں۔ میں اپنے گھوڑے کے پاس آیا اور گھوڑا چَر رہا تھا۔ میں اس کو لے کر دوڑا پھر میں نے اپنے نیزے کو پکڑا۔ کہتے ہیں : میں اس پر سوار ہوگیا۔ اور میں نے اس ڈر سے نیزے کو کھینچنا شروع کیا کہ کہیں ان دونوں کے بارے میں میرے ساتھ کوئی شریک نہ ہوجائے۔ فرماتے ہیں۔ پس جب میں نے ان دونوں کو دیکھ لیا تو حضرت ابوبکر نے فرمایا : یہ متلاشی ہے جو ہیں ہ تلاش کررہا ہے۔ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) میری طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا : اے اللہ ! جس طرح تو چاہتا ہے اس کو ہمارے طرف سے کافی ہوجا۔ سراقہ کہتے ہیں۔ میرا گھوڑا زمین میں دھنس گیا حالانکہ میں سخت زمین میں تھا۔ اور میں ایک پتھر پر گرا اور پلٹی کھائی تو میں نے عرض کیا۔ آپ اس ہستی سے دعا کریں جس نے میرے گھوڑے کے ساتھ جو کیا ہے میں اس کو دیکھ رہا ہوں۔ کہ وہ اس کو یہاں سے نکال دے۔ کہتے ہیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سراقہ کے لیے دُعا کی تو گھوڑا باہر آگیا ۔ پھر رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : کیا تم یہ مجھے ہدیہ کرتے ہو ؟ میں نے عرض کیا۔ جی ہاں ! آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : پس یہاں ہی رہو پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : لوگوں سے ہماری حالت کو مخفی رکھنا۔ ٢۔ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سمندر کے ساتھ ساحل کا راستہ پکڑ لیا۔ کہتے ہیں۔ میں دن کے آغاز میں ان کا متلاشی تھا اور دن کے آخر میں ان کا محافظ تھا۔ اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے مجھے فرمایا : جب ہم مدینہ کو اپنا سفر بنالیں تو اگر تمہاری رائے ہو تو ہمارے پاس آنا۔ سراقہ کہتے ہیں۔ پھر جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مدینہ میں تشریف لائے اور اہل بدر، اہل احد پر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو غلبہ حاصل ہوا۔ لوگ اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے گرد والوں نے اسلام قبول کرلیا۔ سراقہ کہتے ہیں۔ مجھے یہ بات پہنچی کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بنی مدلج کی طرف حضرت خالد بن الولید کو بھیجنے کا ارادہ کر رہے ہیں۔ کہتے ہیں میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور میں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے عرض کیا۔ میں آپ کو انعام (کا وعدہ) یاد دلاتا ہوں لوگ کہنے لگے۔ رک جاؤ ! رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : اس کو چھوڑ دو ۔ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تمہارا کیا ارادہ ہے ؟ میں نے عرض کیا۔ مجھے یہ بات پہنچی ہے کہ آپ میری قوم کی طرف خالد بن ولید کو بھیجنے کا ارادہ رکھتے ہیں۔ اور مجھے یہ بات محبوب ہے کہ آپ ان کے ساتھ عہد و پیمان کرلیں۔ پھر اگر ان کی قوم ایمان لے آئی تو وہ بھی ایمان لے آئیں گے۔ اور اگر ان کی قوم ایمان نہ لائی تو پھر ان پر ان کی قوم کے دل سخت نہیں ہوں گے۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے حضرت خالد بن ولید کا ہاتھ پکڑا اور ان سے فرمایا : اس کے ساتھ جاؤ اور جو یہ چاہتا ہے وہی معاملہ کرو۔ ٣۔ پس حضرت خالد بن ولید بنی مدلج کی طرف تشریف لے گئے اور ان سے یہ پیمان لیا کہ وہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے خلاف مدد نہیں کریں گے۔ اگر قریش اسلام لے آئے تو وہ بھی ان کے ساتھ اسلام لے آئیں گے۔ (اس پر) اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیات نازل کیں۔ { وَدُّوا لَوْ تَکْفُرُونَ کَمَا کَفَرُوا ۔۔۔حَتَّی بَلَغَ ۔۔۔ إِلاَّ الَّذِینَ یَصِلُونَ إِلَی قَوْمٍ بَیْنَکُمْ وَبَیْنَہُمْ مِیثَاقٌ ، أَوْ جَاؤُوکُمْ حَصِرَتْ صُدُورُہُمْ أَنْ یُقَاتِلُوکُمْ ، أَوْ یُقَاتِلُوا قَوْمَہُمْ ، وَلَوْ شَائَ اللَّہُ لَسَلَّطَہُمْ عَلَیْکُمْ فَلَقَاتَلُوکُمْ }۔ حضرت حسن فرماتے ہیں۔ وہ لوگ جن کے بارے میں حصرت صدورھم کہا گیا وہ بنو مدلج ہیں۔ جو شخص بنی مدلج کے پاس پہنچ گیا سو وہ بھی ان کے جیسے معاہدہ میں ہوگا۔
Hazrat Hassan se riwayat hai keh Suraqah bin Malik al-Mudliji ne logon ko bayan kya keh Quraish ne Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) aur Hazrat Abu Bakr ke mutalliq chalis auqiyah muqarrar farmaee. Kehte hain, main baitha hua tha keh iss dauran ek aadmi mere paas aaya aur uss ne kaha, woh aadmi jin ke baare mein Quraish ne apna elaan (inaam) kya hai tumhare qareeb hain, falan jagah par. Kehte hain, main apne ghode ke paas aaya aur ghoda char raha tha. Main uss ko lekar dora, phir main ne apne neze ko pakra. Kehte hain, main uss par sawar hogaya aur main ne iss dar se neze ko khenchna shuru kya keh kahin inn donon ke baare mein mere saath koi sharik na hojae. Faramate hain, pas jab main ne inn donon ko dekh liya to Hazrat Abu Bakr ne farmaya: "Yeh mutalashi hai jo humein talaash kar raha hai." Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) meri taraf mutawajjah hue aur farmaya: "Aye Allah! Jis tarah Tu chahta hai uss ko humare taraf se kaafi hoja." Suraqah kehte hain, mera ghoda zameen mein dhas gaya halanke main sakht zameen mein tha aur main ek pathar par gira aur ultee khai to main ne arz kiya, "Aap iss hasti se dua karein jisne mere ghode ke saath jo kiya hai main uss ko dekh raha hun, keh woh uss ko yahan se nikal de." Kehte hain, aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Suraqah ke liye dua ki to ghoda bahar aagaya. Phir Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Kya tum yeh mujhe hadiya karte ho?" Main ne arz kiya, "Ji haan!" Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Pas yahan hi raho." Phir aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Logon se hamari halat ko makhfi rakhna." 2. Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne samundar ke saath saahil ka rasta pakad liya. Kehte hain, main din ke aaghaaz mein unka mutalashi tha aur din ke akhir mein unka muhafiz tha aur aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne mujhe farmaya: "Jab hum Madinah ko apna safar banalein to agar tumhari rai ho to humare paas aana." Suraqah kehte hain, phir jab aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Madinah mein tashreef laaye aur Ahl Badr, Ahl Uhud par aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko ghalba hasil hua, log aur aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke gird walon ne Islam qubool karliya. Suraqah kehte hain, mujhe yeh baat pahunchi keh aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Bani Mudlij ki taraf Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed ko भेजने ka irada kar rahe hain. Kehte hain main aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur main ne aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se arz kiya, "Main aapko inaam (ka waada) yaad dilata hun." Log kehnew lage, "Ruk jao!" Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Iss ko chhod do." Phir aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Tumhara kya irada hai?" Main ne arz kiya, "Mujhe yeh baat pahunchi hai keh aap meri qaum ki taraf Khalid bin Waleed ko भेजने ka irada rakhte hain aur mujhe yeh baat mahboob hai keh aap unke saath ahd o paiman karlein. Phir agar unki qaum imaan le aayi to woh bhi imaan le aayenge aur agar unki qaum imaan na laayi to phir unpar unki qaum ke dil sakht nahin honge." Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed ka haath pakda aur unse farmaya: "Iss ke saath jao aur jo yeh chahta hai wohi mamla karo." 3. Pas Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed Bani Mudlij ki taraf tashreef le gaye aur unse yeh paiman liya keh woh aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke khilaf madad nahin karenge. Agar Quraish Islam le aaye to woh bhi unke saath Islam le aayenge. (Iss par) Allah Ta'ala ne yeh aayatein nazil kein: "{Waddu law takfuroon kama kafaroo... hatta balagha... illa allatheena yasiloona ila qawmin baynakum wa baynahum meethaqun aw jaookum hasirat sudooruhum an yuqatilookum aw yuqatiloo qawmahum wa law shaa Allahu lasallitahum 'alaykum falaqatalookum}." Hazrat Hassan farmate hain, woh log jin ke baare mein "Hasirat sudooruhum" kaha gaya woh Banu Mudlij hain. Jo shakhs Bani Mudlij ke paas pahuncha so woh bhi unke jaise muahida mein hoga.
أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْمُدْلِجِيِّ ، حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ قُرَيْشًا جَعَلَتْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ أَرْبَعِينَ أُوقِيَّةً ، قَالَ فَبَيْنَمَا أَنَا جَالِسٌ إِذْ جَاءَنِي رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ : إِنَّ الرَّجُلَيْنِ الَّذِينَ جَعَلَتْ قُرَيْشٌ فِيهِمَا مَا جَعَلَتْ قَرِيبٌ مِنْكَ بِمَكَانِ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَأَتَيْتُ فَرَسِي وَهُوَ فِي الْمَرْعَى فَنَفَرْتُ بِهِ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ رُمْحِي ، قَالَ فَرَكِبْتُهُ ، قَالَ : فَجَعَلْتُ أَجُرُّ الرُّمْحَ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يُشْرِكَنِي فِيهِمَا أَهْلُ الْمَاءِ ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُهُمَا قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : هَذَا بَاغٍ يَبْغِينَا ، فَالْتَفَتَ ⦗ص:٣٤٥⦘ إِلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنَاهُ بِمَا شِئْتَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ : فَوَجِلَ فَرَسِي وَإِنِّي لَفِي جَلْدٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ ، فَوَقَعْتُ عَلَى حَجَرٍ فَانْقَلَبَ ، فَقُلْتُ : ادْعُ الَّذِي فَعَلَ بِفَرَسِي مَا أَرَى أَنْ يُخَلِّصَهُ ، وَعَاهَدَهُ أَنْ لَا يَعْصِيَهُ ، قَالَ : فَدَعَا لَهُ ، فَخُلِّصَ الْفَرَسُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ : أَوَاهِبْهُ أَنْتَ لِي ، فَقُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ : فَهَاهُنَا ، قَالَ : فَعَمِّي عَنَّا النَّاسَ ، وَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ طَرِيقَ السَّاحِلِ مِمَّا يَلِي الْبَحْرَ ، قَالَ : فَكُنْتُ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ لَهُمْ طَالِبًا وَآخِرَ النَّهَارِ لَهُمْ مَسْلَحَةً ، وَقَالَ لِي : إِذَا اسْتَقْرَرْنَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَإِنْ رَأَيْتَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنَا فَأْتِنَا ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَظَهَرَ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ وَأُحُدٍ وَأَسْلَمَ النَّاسُ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُمْ ، قَالَ سُرَاقَةُ : بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ إِلَى بَنِي مُدْلِجٍ ، قَالَ : فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : أُنْشِدُكَ النِّعْمَةَ ، فَقَالَ الْقَوْمُ : مَهْ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ : « دَعُوهُ » ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا تُرِيدُ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَبْعَثَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ إِلَى قَوْمِي ، فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ تُوَادِعَهُمْ ، فَإِنْ أَسْلَمَ قَوْمُهُمْ أَسْلَمُوا مَعَهُمْ وَإِنْ لَمْ يُسْلِمُوا لَمْ تَخْشُنْ صُدُورُ قَوْمِهِمْ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِيَدِ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ فَقَالَ لَهُ : اذْهَبْ مَعَهُ فَاصْنَعْ مَا أَرَادَ ، فَذَهَبَ إِلَى بَنِي مُدْلِجٍ ، فَأَخَذُوا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ لَا يُعِينُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ، فَإِنْ أَسْلَمَتْ قُرَيْشٌ أَسْلَمُوا مَعَهُمْ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ﴿ وَدُّوا لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ ﴾ [ النساء : ٨٩ ] حَتَّى بَلَغَ ﴿ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ إِلَى قَوْمٍ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ مِيثَاقٌ أَوْ جَاءُوكُمْ حَصِرَتْ صُدُورُهُمْ أَنْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ أَوْ يُقَاتِلُوا قَوْمَهُمْ ، وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَسَلَّطَهُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ فَلَقَاتَلُوكُمْ ﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ : فَالَّذِينَ حَصِرَتْ صُدُورُهُمْ بَنُو مُدْلِجٍ ، فَمَنْ وَصَلَ إِلَى بَنِي مُدْلِجٍ مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ كَانَ فِي مِثْلِ عَهْدِهِمْ .
