Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 36755
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Khabbab that we migrated with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and we were seeking the pleasure of Allah Almighty. So our reward is due to Allah. Then among us were some who did not eat anything from their reward. Among them is Musab bin Umair who was martyred in the battle of Uhud and there was nothing available to shroud him except a sheet. When the Companions would cover his head with this sheet, his feet would be exposed. And when they would pull it towards his feet, his blessed head would be exposed. Upon this, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Cover his head with this sheet and put some Idhkhir (a type of grass) on his feet." And among us were some whose fruits (of reward) have ripened, so they are eating them.
حضرت خباب سے روایت ہے کہ ہم نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ہمراہ ہجرت کی اور ہم خدا تعالیٰ کی رضا کے متلاشی تھے۔ پس ہمارا اجر تو اللہ پر واجب ہوگیا۔ پھر ہم میں سے بعض وہ تھے جنہوں نے اپنے اجر میں سے کچھ نہیں کھایا۔ انہی میں سے مصعب بن عمیر ہیں جو جنگ احد میں شہید ہوئے تھے اور ان کو کفن دینے کے لیے بھی سوائے ایک چادر کے کچھ میسر نہ ہوا۔ جب صحابہ کرام یہ چادر ان کے سر پر ڈالتے تھے تو ان کے پاؤں کُھل جاتے تھے۔ اور جب اس کو پاؤں کی طرف کھینچتے تھے تو آپ کا سر مبارک کھل جاتا تھا اس پر نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : یہ چادر اس کے سر کی طرف کردو اور اس کے پاؤں پر اذخر (بوٹی) ڈال دو ۔ اور ہم میں سے بعض وہ تھے جن کے لیے ان کے (اجر کے) پھل پک گئے سو وہ انھیں کاٹ رہے ہیں۔

Aur jab is ko paon ki taraf khenchte the to aap ka sar mubarak khul jata tha is per Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya : Yeh chadar is ke sar ki taraf karo aur is ke paon per izkhar (booti) daal do. Aur hum mein se baaz woh the jin ke liye in ke (ajr ke) phal pak gaye so woh inhen kaat rahe hain.
أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ خَبَّابٍ ، قَالَ : " هَاجَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَبْتَغِي وَجْهَ اللَّهِ ، فَوَجَبَ أَجْرُنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ ، فَمِنَّا مَنْ مَضَى لَمْ يَأْكُلْ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ شَيْئًا ، مِنْهُمْ مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ قُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ، فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ لَهُ شَيْءٌ يُكَفَّنُ فِيهِ إِلَّا نَمِرَةٌ ، كَانُوا إِذَا وَضَعُوهَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ خَرَجَتْ رِجْلَاهُ ، وَإِذَا وَضَعُوهَا فِي رِجْلَيْهِ خَرَجَ رَأْسُهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ : « اجْعَلُوهَا مِمَّا يَلِي رَأْسَهُ ، وَاجْعَلُوا عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ مِنَ الْإِذْخِرِ » وَمِنَّا مَنْ أَيْنَعَتْ لَهُ ثَمَرَتُهُ فَهُوَ يَهْدِبُهَا
