Hazrat Ali said that Witr is not obligatory. Rather, it is Sunnah which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) established as Sunnah.
حضرت علی فرماتے ہیں کہ وتر فرض نہیں ہیں۔ بلکہ یہ سنت ہیں جنہیں نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سنت قرار دیا ہے۔
Hazrat Ali farmate hain keh witr farz nahin hain. Balkeh yeh sunnat hain jinhen Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne sunnat karar diya hai.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : « الْوَتْرُ لَيْسَ بِحَتْمٍ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ أَسَنَّهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ »
