Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3483
Imran bin Husain (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said to my father (when he had not accepted Islam), O Husain, how many gods do you worship now? He said, ‘Seven. Six in the earth, and one above the heavens.’ He said, ‘so which of them do you take for your ardent requests and fears?’ He said, ‘the one above the heavens.’ He said, ‘O Husain, if you would but accept Islam, I would teach you two phrases that would benefit you.’ He said, ‘So, when Husain accepted Islam, he said, ‘O Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), teach me the two phrases you promised me.’ So he said, say – ِ نَفْسِياللَّهُمَّ أَلْهِمْنِي رُشْدِي وَأَعِذْنِي مِنْ شَر [O Allah, inspire me with my guidance, and protect me from the evil of my soul. Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan Gharib. It has been related from Imran bin Husain through routes other than this.

عمران بن حصین کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے میرے باپ سے پوچھا: ”اے حصین! آج کل تم کتنے معبودوں کو پوجتے ہو؟“ میرے باپ نے جواب دیا سات کو چھ زمین میں ( رہتے ہیں ) اور ایک آسمان میں، آپ نے پوچھا: ”ان میں سے کس کی سب سے زیادہ رغبت دلچسپی، امید اور خوف و ڈر کے ساتھ عبادت کرتے ہو؟“ انہوں نے کہا: اس کی جو آسمان میں ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”اے حصین! سنو، اگر تم اسلام لے آتے تو میں تمہیں دو کلمے سکھا دیتا وہ دونوں تمہیں برابر نفع پہنچاتے رہتے“، پھر جب حصین اسلام لے آئے تو انہوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے وہ دونوں کلمے سکھا دیجئیے جنہیں سکھانے کا آپ نے مجھ سے وعدہ فرمایا تھا، آپ نے فرمایا: ”کہو «اللهم ألهمني رشدي وأعذني من شر نفسي» ”اے اللہ! تو مجھے میری بھلائی کی باتیں سکھا دے، اور میرے نفس کے شر سے مجھے بچا لے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث عمران بن حصین سے اس سند کے علاوہ دوسری سند سے بھی آئی ہے۔
Imran bin Husain kehte hain ki Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mere baap se poocha: "Ae Husain! Aaj kal tum kitne maboodon ko poojte ho?" Mere baap ne jawab diya saat ko chhe zameen mein (rehte hain) aur ek aasman mein, aap ne poocha: "In mein se kis ki sab se zyada ragbat dilchaspi, umeed aur khauf o dar ke saath ibadat karte ho?" Unhon ne kaha: Us ki jo aasman mein hai, aap ne farmaya: "Ae Husain! Suno, agar tum Islam le aate to main tumhen do kalme sikha deta woh donon tumhen barabar nafa pahunchate rehte", phir jab Husain Islam le aaye to unhon ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! Mujhe woh donon kalme sikha dijiye jinhen sikhaane ka aap ne mujh se waada farmaya tha, aap ne farmaya: "Kaho «Allahumma alhimni rushdi wa'a'idhni min sharri nafsi» "Ae Allah! Tu mujhe meri bhalaai ki baaten sikha de, aur mere nafs ke shar se mujhe bacha le". Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: 1- Yeh hadees hasan ghareeb hai, 2- Yeh hadees Imran bin Husain se is sanad ke alawa doosri sanad se bhi aayi hai.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ شَبِيبِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَبِي: يَا حُصَيْنُ، كَمْ تَعْبُدُ الْيَوْمَ إِلَهًا ؟ قَالَ أَبِي: سَبْعَةً سِتَّةً فِي الْأَرْضِ وَوَاحِدًا فِي السَّمَاءِ، قَالَ: فَأَيُّهُمْ تَعُدُّ لِرَغْبَتِكَ وَرَهْبَتِكَ ؟ قَالَ: الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاءِ، قَالَ: يَا حُصَيْنُ، أَمَا إِنَّكَ لَوْ أَسْلَمْتَ عَلَّمْتُكَ كَلِمَتَيْنِ تَنْفَعَانِكَ ، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَ حُصَيْنٌ، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، عَلِّمْنِيَ الْكَلِمَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ وَعَدْتَنِي، فَقَالَ: قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ أَلْهِمْنِي رُشْدِي وَأَعِذْنِي مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ.
