Chapter: “There Is None With More Ghayrah Than Allah”

Amr bin Murrah narrated that he heard Abu Wa’il saying that Abdullah bin Mas`ud ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) said. I asked him, ‘did you hear it from Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه)?’ He said, ‘yes.’ And he narrated it in Marfu` form that he said, ‘there is none with more resentful than Allah, and due to this He prohibited the lewd sins, that which is apparent of them and that which is hidden. And there is none to whom praise is more beloved than Allah, and due to this, He praised Himself.’ Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan Gharib from this route.

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ سے بڑھ کر کوئی غیرت مند نہیں ہے، اسی لیے اللہ تعالیٰ نے بےحیائی کی چیزیں حرام کر دی ہیں چاہے وہ کھلے طور پر ہوں یا پوشیدہ طور پر، اور کوئی بھی ایسا نہیں ہے جسے اللہ سے زیادہ مدح ( تعریف ) پسند ہو، اسی لیے اللہ نے اپنی ذات کی تعریف خود آپ کی ہے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Abd-ul-llah bin Mas'ud radiyallahu 'anhu kehte hain ke Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Allah se barh kar koi ghairat mand nahin hai, isi liye Allah ta'ala ne behayai ki cheezain haram kar di hain chahe woh khule tor per hon ya poshida tor per, aur koi bhi aisa nahin hai jise Allah se ziyada madh ( tarif ) pasand ho, isi liye Allah ne apni zat ki tarif khud ap ki hai. Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: yeh hadith hasan sahih hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، قَال: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ قَال: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، يَقُولُ: قُلْتُ لَهُ: أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ وَرَفَعَهُ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: لَا أَحَدَ أَغْيَرُ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَلِذَلِكَ حَرَّمَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ، وَلَا أَحَدَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ الْمَدْحُ مِنَ اللَّهِ، وَلِذَلِكَ مَدَحَ نَفْسَهُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ.
