Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to seek refuge in Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) from five things: cowardliness, niggardliness, the evils of old age, evil thoughts, and punishment in the grave.

عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ پانچ چیزوں بزدلی، بخل، بری عمر ( پیرانہ سالی ) ، سینے کے فتنے اور قبر کے عذاب سے پناہ مانگا کرتے تھے ۔
Umar bin Khatab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) panch cheezon: buzdali, bukhul, bari umar (pirana sali), sine ke fitne aur qabr ke azab se panah manga karte the 1؎.
Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to say, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from weakness, and laziness, and cowardice, and old age, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trails of the life and death.”

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں رسول اللہ ﷺ فرماتے تھے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من العجز، والكسل، والجبن، والبخل، والهرم، وأعوذ بك من عذاب القبر، وأعوذ بك من فتنة المحيا والممات» اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں عاجزی سے، سستی سے، بزدلی سے، بخل اور کنجوسی سے اور انتہائی بڑھاپے سے اور میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں عذاب قبر سے اور میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں زندگی اور موت کے فتنوں سے ۱؎ ۔
Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) farmate they: «Allahumma inni a'uzu bika min al-'ajz, wal-kasal, wal-jubn, wal-bukhil, wal-haram, wa a'uzu bika min 'adhab al-qabr, wa a'uzu bika min fitnat al-mahya wal-mamat» Aey Allah! main teri panah mangta hun ajzi se, sasti se, buzdli se, bukhil aur kanjosi se aur intahai budhapa se aur main teri panah mangta hun azab qabr se aur main teri panah mangta hun zindagi aur maut ke fitnon se 1؎.
Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘I used to serve the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and often hear him say, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from grief and anxiety, from the hardships of debt, and from being overpowered by men.”

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نبی اکرم ﷺ کی خدمت کرتا تھا تو میں اکثر آپ کو یہ دعا پڑھتے سنتا تھا:«اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الهم والحزن وضلع الدين وغلبة الرجال» اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اندیشے اور غم سے، قرض کے بوجھ سے اور لوگوں کے تسلط سے اور انہوں نے بعض ان چیزوں کا ذکر کیا جنہیں تیمی ۱؎ نے ذکر کیا ہے۔
Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat karta tha to main aksar aap ko yeh dua padhte sunta tha: «Allahumma inni auzu bika min al-hamm wal-huzn wa dhila' al-deen wa ghalabat al-rijal» Ae Allah! Main teri panah maangta hun andishe aur gham se, qarz ke bojh se aur logoon ke tasallut se aur unhon ne baaz un cheezon ka zikr kiya jinhen Temi 1؎ ne zikr kiya hai.
Abdullah bin Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to teach us this supplication as he taught us the Surah from the Quran. He would say, “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge from You from the trails of Al-Masihid-Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death.”

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ انہیں یہ دعا اسی طرح سکھاتے جس طرح قرآن کی سورۃ سکھاتے تھے، فرماتے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من عذاب جهنم وأعوذ بك من عذاب القبر وأعوذ بك من فتنة المسيح الدجال وأعوذ بك من فتنة المحيا والممات» اے اللہ میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں جہنم کے عذاب سے، تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں قبر کے عذاب سے، تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں مسیح دجال کے فتنے سے اور تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں زندگی اور موت کی آزمایشوں سے ۔
Abdullah bin Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) unhein yeh dua isi tarah sikhate the jis tarah Quran ki surat sikhate the, farmate: «Allahumma inni a'uudhu bika min azaab jahannam wa a'uudhu bika min azaab al-qabr wa a'uudhu bika min fitnat al-massih al-dajjal wa a'uudhu bika min fitnat al-mahya wal-mamat» Aye Allah main teri panaah mangta hoon jahannam ke azab se, teri panaah mangta hoon qabr ke azab se, teri panaah mangta hoon Masih Dajjal ke fitne se aur teri panaah mangta hoon zindagi aur maut ki azmaishon se.
Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) would supplicate with the following words, “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the trials of the Fire, and the punishment of the Fire, and from the evils of richness and poverty.”

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ ان کلمات کے ساتھ دعا مانگتے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من فتنة النار، وعذاب النار، ومن شر الغنى، والفقر» اے اللہ! میں جہنم کے فتنے جہنم کے عذاب اور دولت مندی و فقر کے شر سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
Umm ul Momineen Ayesha Radi Allah Anha se riwayat hai ke Nabi Akram Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam in kalimat ke sath dua maangte: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min fitnatin nar, wa azaabin nar, wa min sharril ghina, wal faqar. Ae Allah! mein jahannam ke fitne jahannam ke azab aur daulat mandi wa faqr ke shar se teri panaah maangta hun.
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to say, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from poverty, lack and abasement, and I seek refuge in Thee lest I cause or suffer wrong.”

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ یہ دعا پڑھتے تھے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الفقر، والقلة، والذلة، وأعوذ بك من أن أظلم أو أظلم» اے اللہ! میں فقر، قلت مال اور ذلت سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اور اس بات سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں کہ میں کسی پر ظلم کروں یا کوئی مجھ پر ظلم کرے ۱؎ ۔
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) yeh dua padhte the: «Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min al-faqr, wal-qillata, wal-dhulati, wa a'udhu bika an azlim aw uzlam» Aye Allah! Main faqar, qillat mal aur zulm se teri panah mangta hoon aur is baat se teri panah mangta hoon ke main kisi per zulm karun ya koi mujh per zulm kare 1؎ .
Abdullah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said that one of the supplications of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You that Your blessings are lifted, and Your protection (of me) is changed, and in the suddenness of Your punishment, and from all Your anger.”

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کی یہ دعا تھی: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من زوال نعمتك، وتحويل عافيتك، وفجاءة نقمتك، وجميع سخطك» اے اللہ! میں تیری نعمت کے زوال سے، تیری دی ہوئی عافیت کے پلٹ جانے سے، تیرے ناگہانی عذاب سے اور تیرے ہر قسم کے غصے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
Abdullah bin Umar Radi Allahu Anhuma kehte hain ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki ye dua thi: Allahumma inni audhu bika min zawal ne'matika, wa tahweel afiyatika, wa faja'ati ni'matika, wa jamee sakhatika. Ae Allah! main teri ne'mat ke zawal se, teri di hoi afiyat ke palat jaane se, tere naghaani azab se aur tere har qisam ke ghusse se teri panaah mangta hun.
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to supplicate by saying, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from divisiveness, hypocrisy, and evil character.”

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ دعا کرتے تو فرماتے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الشقاق، والنفاق، وسوء الأخلاق» اے اللہ! میں پھوٹ، نفاق اور برے اخلاق سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) dua karte to farmate: «Allahumma Inni A'uzu Bika Min Ash-Shiqaq, Wa An-Nifaq, Wa Su'i Al-Akhlaq» Ae Allah! Main phoot, nifaq aur bure akhlaq se teri panah mangta hun.
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to say, “O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from hunger, for it is an evil bed-fellow; and I seek refuge in Thee from treachery, for it is an evil hidden trait.”

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ یہ دعا مانگتے تھے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الجوع فإنه بئس الضجيع، وأعوذ بك من الخيانة فإنها بئست البطانة» اے اللہ! میں بھوک سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں وہ بہت بری ساتھی ہے، میں خیانت سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں وہ بہت بری خفیہ خصلت ہے ۔
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) yeh dua mangte the: «Allahumma inni auzu bika min al-jau' fa innahu bi's sad-ji' wa auzu bika min al-khiyanah fa innaha bi's-batana» Aey Allah! Main bhookh se teri panaah mangta hoon woh bahut buri saathi hai, main khiyanat se teri panaah mangta hoon woh bahut buri khafi khaصلت hai.
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to say, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from four things: Knowledge which does not profit, a heart which is not submissive, a soul which has an insatiable appetite, and a supplication which is not heard.”

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کہتے تھے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الأربع: من علم لا ينفع، ومن قلب لا يخشع، ومن نفس لا تشبع، ومن دعا لا يسمع» اے اللہ! میں چار چیزوں سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں: ایسے علم سے جو نفع بخش نہ ہو، ایسے دل سے جو تجھ سے خوف زدہ نہ ہو، ایسے نفس سے جو سیر نہ ہو اور ایسی دعا سے جو سنی نہ جائے یعنی قبول نہ ہو ۔
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kehte they: «Allahumma inni auzu bika min al-arba'a: min 'ilm la yanfa', wa min qalb la yakhashu', wa min nafs la tashba', wa min dua la yusma'» Ae Allah! Main chaar cheezon se teri panah maangta hoon: aise 'ilm se jo nafa bakhsh na ho, aise dil se jo tujh se khouf zidda na ho, aise nafs se jo sair na ho aur aisi dua se jo suni na jaye yani qabool na ho .
Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) would supplicate, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a prayer that is of no benefit.”
Grade: صحیح
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کہتے تھے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من صلاة لا تنفع» اے اللہ! میں ایسی نماز سے جو فائدہ نہ دے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں اور پھر راوی نے دوسری دعا کا ذکر کیا۔
Insa bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kehte the: «Allahumma inni auzu bika min salata la tanfa'» ae Allah! main aisi namaz se jo faida na de teri panah chahta hoon aur phir rawi ne doosri dua ka zikr kiya.
Farwah bin Nawfal Al-Ashja'i asked Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) the Mother of the Believers, about the supplication of the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). She replied, ‘He (the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) would say, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done, and from the evil of what I have not done.”

فروہ بن نوفل اشجعی کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے رسول اللہ ﷺ کی دعا کے بارے میں جو آپ مانگتے تھے پوچھا، انہوں نے کہا: آپ کہتے تھے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من شر ما عملت، ومن شر ما لم أعمل» اے اللہ! میں ہر اس کام کے شر سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں جسے میں نے کیا ہے اور ہر اس کام کے شر سے بھی جسے میں نے نہیں کیا ہے ۔
Furoh bin Naufil Ashjai kehte hain ke main ne Ummul Momineen Ayesha radiallahu anha se Rasoolullah salallahu alaihi wasallam ki dua ke bare mein jo aap maangte the poocha, unhon ne kaha: Aap kehte the: «Allahumma inni a'oozubik min sharri ma a'maltu, wa min sharri ma lam a'mal» Aey Allah! Main har is kaam ke shar se teri panaah maangta hoon jise main ne kiya hai aur har is kaam ke shar se bhi jise main ne nahi kiya hai.
Shakl ibn Humayd narrated that he asked the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) to teach him a supplication. He said, Say, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I hear, from the evil of what I see, from the evil of what I speak, from the evil of what I think, and from the evil of my semen (i.e. sexual passion).”

شکل بن حمید رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے کوئی دعا سکھا دیجئیے، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: کہو: «االلهم إني أعوذ بك من شر سمعي، ومن شر بصري، ومن شر لساني، ومن شر قلبي، ومن شر منيي» ۱؎ اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اپنے کان کی برائی، نظر کی برائی، زبان کی برائی، دل کی برائی اور اپنی منی کی برائی سے ۔
Shakl bin Hamid (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! Mujhe koi dua sikha dijiye, aap SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM ne farmaya: Keho: «Allahumma inni auzu bika min sharri sam'i, wa min sharri basari, wa min sharri lisani, wa min sharri qalbi, wa min sharri maniyi» 1؎ Aey Allah! Main teri panah mangta hoon apne kaan ki burai, nazar ki burai, zaban ki burai, dil ki burai aur apni mani ki burai se.
Abul Yusr narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to supplicate, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from my house falling on me, I seek refuge in You from falling into an abyss, I seek refuge in You from drowning burning and decrepitude. I seek refuge in You from the devil harming me at the time of my death, I seek refuge in You from dying in Your path while retreating, and I seek refuge in You from dying of the sting of a poisonous creature.”

ابوالیسر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ یہ دعا مانگتے تھے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الهدم، وأعوذ بك من التردي، وأعوذ بك من الغرق، والحرق والهرم، وأعوذ بك أن يتخبطني الشيطان عند الموت، وأعوذ بك أن أموت في سبيلك مدبرا، وأعوذ بك أن أموت لديغا» اے اللہ! کسی مکان یا دیوار کے اپنے اوپر گرنے سے میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔ میں اونچے مقام سے گر پڑنے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔ میں ڈوبنے، جل جانے اور بہت بوڑھا ہو جانے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔ میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اس بات سے کہ موت کے وقت مجھے شیطان اچک لے۔ اس بات سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں کہ میں تیری راہ میں پیٹھ دکھا کر بھاگتے ہوئے مارا جاؤں اور اس بات سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں کہ کسی زہریلے جانور کے کاٹنے سے میری موت آئے ۔
AbuAli sir razi Allahu anhu kehte hain ki Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam yeh dua mangte thy: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal hadam, wa a'udhu bika minat taradi, wa a'udhu bika minal gharq, wal harq wal haram, wa a'udhu bika an yatakhabbatani ash shaitan 'inda al maut, wa a'udhu bika an amut fi sabilik mudbiran, wa a'udhu bika an amut ladighan.
Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to say, “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from leprosy, madness, elephantiasis, and evil diseases.”
Grade: صحیح
انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ کہتے تھے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من البرص، والجنون، والجذام، ومن سيئ الأسقام» اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں برص، دیوانگی، کوڑھ اور تمام بری بیماریوں سے ۔
Anas Razi Allahu anhu kehte hain ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kehte they: «Allahumma inni a'oozu bika min al-baras, wal-junun, wal-judham, wa min sayyi' al-asqam» Ai Allah! Main teri panah mangta hun bars, diwanagi, kudh aur tamam bari bimariyon se.
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘one day the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) entered the mosque. He saw there a man from the Ansar called Abu Umamah. He (the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) asked, ‘what is the matter that I am seeing you sitting in the mosque when there is no time of prayer?’ He said, ‘I am entangled in worries and debts, O Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).’He replied, ‘shall I not teach you words by which, when you say them, Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) will remove your care, and settle your debt?’ He said, ‘why not, O Apostle of Allah (صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم)?’ Then he (the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘Say in the morning and evening, O Allah, I seek refuge in You from care and grief, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and slackness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and niggardliness, and I seek in You from being overcome by debt and being put in subjection by men.” He said, ‘when I did that Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) removed my worries and settled my debt.’

ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ ایک دن مسجد میں داخل ہوئے تو اچانک آپ کی نظر ایک انصاری پر پڑی جنہیں ابوامامہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہا جاتا تھا، آپ ﷺ نے ان سے کہا: ابوامامہ! کیا وجہ ہے کہ میں تمہیں نماز کے وقت کے علاوہ بھی مسجد میں بیٹھا دیکھ رہا ہوں؟ انہوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! غموں اور قرضوں نے مجھے گھیر لیا ہے، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: کیا میں تمہیں ایسے کلمات نہ سکھاؤں کہ جب تم انہیں کہو تو اللہ تم سے تمہارے غم غلط اور قرض ادا کر دے ، میں نے کہا: ضرور، اللہ کے رسول! آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: صبح و شام یہ کہا کرو: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الهم والحزن، وأعوذ بك من العجز والكسل، وأعوذ بك من الجبن والبخل، وأعوذ بك من غلبة الدين وقهر الرجال» اے اللہ! میں غم اور حزن سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، عاجزی و سستی سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، بزدلی اور کنجوسی سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اور قرض کے غلبہ اور لوگوں کے تسلط سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔ ابوامامہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے یہ پڑھنا شروع کیا تو اللہ نے میرا غم دور کر دیا اور میرا قرض ادا کروا دیا۔
Abu Saeed Khudri (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ek din masjid mein dakhil hue to achanak aap ki nazar ek Ansari par padi jinhhen Abu Imammah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kaha jata tha, aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un se kaha: Abu Imammah! kya wajah hai ke main tumhen namaz ke waqt ke alawa bhi masjid mein beta dekh raha hoon? Unhon ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! ghamon aur qarzon ne mujhe gher liya hai, aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: kya main tumhen aise kalimat na sikhaun ke jab tum inhen kaho to Allah tum se tumhare gham ghalat aur qarz ada kar de, main ne kaha: zarur, Allah ke Rasool! aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: subh o sham yeh kaha karo: «Allahumma inni a'oodhu bika min al-hamm wal-huzn, wa a'oodhu bika min al-'ajz wal-kasal, wa a'oodhu bika min al-jibn wal-bukhli, wa a'oodhu bika min ghalabat al-dain wa qahri al-rijal» ae Allah! main gham aur huzn se teri panah mangta hoon, ajzi o susty se teri panah mangta hoon, buzdli aur kangosi se teri panah mangta hoon aur qarz ke ghalba aur logoon ke tasallut se teri panah mangta hoon. Abu Imammah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain: main ne yeh parhna shuru kiya to Allah ne mera gham dur kar diya aur mera qarz ada karwa diya.
