Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19928
It is narrated on the authority of Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) dispatched a detachment of the army in a certain direction and appointed Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) as its commander. During the journey, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) did some new things, so four companions (may Allah be pleased with them) pledged that they would definitely mention this to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It was our custom that when we returned from a journey, we would first go to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and greet him. So this time also those people came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). After a while, one of them stood up and submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Ali did this and this." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ignored him. Then the second, third and fourth persons stood up one by one and said the same thing, "O Messenger of Allah! Ali did this and this." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned to the fourth man, by then the color of the Prophet's face had changed and he said three times, "Leave Ali alone, Ali is from me and I am from Ali and he is the beloved of every believer after me."

حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے لشکر کا ایک دستہ کسی طرف روانہ کیا اور ان کا امیر حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کو مقرر کردیا، دوران سفر حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے کچھ نئی باتیں کیں، تو چار صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ عہد کرلیا کہ یہ چیز نبی ﷺ سے ضرور ذکر کریں گے، ہم لوگوں کا یہ معمول تھا کہ جب سفر سے واپس آتے تو سب سے پہلے نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضری دیتے اور انہیں سلام کرتے تھے۔ چناچہ اس مرتبہ بھی وہ لوگ نبی ﷺ کے پاس آئے، تھوڑی دیر بعد ان میں سے ایک آدمی نے کھڑے ہو کر عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! علی نے اس اس طرح کیا تھا، نبی ﷺ نے اس سے اعراض فرمایا: پھر دوسرے، تیسرے اور چھو تھے نے باری باری کھڑے ہو کر یہی کہا یارسول اللہ! علی نے اس اس طرح کیا تھا، نبی ﷺ چوتھے آدمی کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے، اس وقت تک نبی ﷺ کے رخ انور کا رنگ بدل چکا تھا اور تین مرتبہ فرمایا علی کو چھوڑ دو، علی مجھ سے ہے اور میں علی سے ہوں اور وہ میرے بعد ہر مؤمن کا محبوب ہے۔
Hazrat Imran bin Husain Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai keh Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne lashkar ka ek dasta kisi taraf rawana kiya aur unka ameer Hazrat Ali Radi Allaho Anho ko muqarrar kar diya, dauran safar Hazrat Ali Radi Allaho Anho ne kuch nayi baatein ki, to chaar sahaba Radi Allaho Anhum ne yeh ahd kar liya keh yeh cheez Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam se zaroor zikar karenge, hum logon ka yeh mamol tha keh jab safar se wapas aate to sab se pehle Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ki khidmat mein hazri dete aur unhen salam karte the. Chunancha is martaba bhi woh log Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ke paas aaye, thori der baad un mein se ek aadmi ne kharay ho kar arz kiya Ya Rasulullah! Ali ne is is tarah kiya tha, Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne us se eiraz farmaya: phir dusre, teesre aur chothe ne bari bari kharay ho kar yahi kaha Ya Rasulullah! Ali ne is is tarah kiya tha, Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam chothe aadmi ki taraf mutawajjah huye, us waqt tak Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ke rukh anwar ka rang badal chuka tha aur teen martaba farmaya Ali ko chhor do, Ali mujh se hai aur main Ali se hun aur woh mere baad har momin ka mahboob hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , وَعَفَّانُ المعنى , وهذا حديث عبد الرزاق قَالَا: ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ الرِّشْكُ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ: بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً وَأَمَّرَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ فَأَحْدَثَ شَيْئًا فِي سَفَرِهِ، فَتَعَاهَدَ , قَالَ عَفَّانُ: فَتَعَاقَدَ أَرْبَعَةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَذْكُرُوا أَمْرَهُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ عِمْرَانُ: وَكُنَّا إِذَا قَدِمْنَا مِنْ سَفَرٍ بَدَأْنَا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ: فَدَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا فَعَلَ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّانِي، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا فَعَلَ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّالِثُ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا فَعَلَ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ الرَّابِعُ , فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا فَعَلَ كَذَا وَكَذَا، قَالَ: فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الرَّابِعِ , وَقَدْ تَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُهُ، فَقَالَ:" دَعُوا عَلِيًّا، دَعُوا عَلِيًّا، دَعُوا عليًّا، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ، وَهُوَ وَلِيُّ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ بَعْدِي" .
