The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2107
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once someone asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Which religion is most beloved to Allah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: "That which is most sincere and exclusively for Allah alone, and is tolerant and vast."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ کسی نے نبی ﷺ سے پوچھا کہ اللہ کی بارگاہ میں سب سے زیادہ پسندیدہ دین کون سا ہے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”جو سب سے یکسو ہو کر ایک اللہ کے لئے ہو اور کشادہ وسیع ہو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba kisi ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se poocha ki Allah ki bargah mein sab se zyada pasandida deen kaun sa hai? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Jo sab se yaksu ho kar ek Allah ke liye ho aur kushada wasee ho.“
حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ ، قَال: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: قِيلَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَيُّ الْأَدْيَانِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّه؟ قَالَ:" الْحَنِيفِيَّةُ السَّمْحَةُ".
