The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2657
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Distribute the shares of inheritance among its rightful claimants. After everyone has received their share, whatever wealth remains should be given to the closest male relative of the deceased." (In the terminology of Islamic inheritance law, this is called the 'Asabah).

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”وراثت کے حصے ان کے مستحقین تک پہنچا دیا کرو، سب کو ان کے حصے مل چکنے کے بعد جو مال باقی بچے وہ میت کے اس سب سے قریبی رشتہ دار کو دے دیا جائے جو مذکر ہو۔“ (علم الفرائض کی اصطلاح میں جسے ”عصبہ“ کہتے ہیں)۔
Saina Ibne Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: "Wراثat ke hisse un ke mustahiqeen tak pohancha diya karo, sab ko un ke hisse mil chukne ke baad jo maal baqi bache wo mayyat ke us sab se qareebi rishtedar ko de diya jaye jo muzakkar ho." (Ilm ul faraiz ki istilah mein jise "Asaba" kehte hain).
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:" أَلْحِقُوا الْفَرَائِضَ بِأَهْلِهَا، فَمَا بَقِيَ فَهُوَ لِأَوْلَى رَجُلٍ ذَكَرٍ".
