The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2951
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the wearing of clothing made entirely of silk. However, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that there is no harm in our opinion in wearing clothing whose warp or embroidery is of silk. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also forbade drinking water from silver vessels.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے اس کپڑے سے منع فرمایا ہے جو مکمل طور پر ریشمی ہو، البتہ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ جس کپڑے کا تانا یا نقش و نگار ریشم کے ہوں تو ہماری رائے کے مطابق اس میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے، نیز نبی ﷺ نے چاندی کے برتن میں پانی پینے سے بھی منع فرمایا تھا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne iss kapre se mana farmaya hai jo mukammal tor par reshmi ho, albatta Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a farmate hain ki jis kapre ka tana ya naqsh o nigar resham ke hon to hamari rai ke mutabiq iss mein koi harj nahi hai, neez Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne chandi ke bartan mein pani pine se bhi mana farmaya tha.
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي خُصَيْفٌ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، وَعَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ، قَالَ:" إِنَّمَا نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الثَّوْبِ الْحَرِيرِ الْمُصْمَتِ، فَأَمَّا الثَّوْبُ الَّذِي سَدَاهُ حَرِيرٌ لَيْسَ بِحَرِيرٍ مُصْمَتٍ، فَلَا نَرَى بِهِ بَأْسًا. (حديث موقوف) وَإِنَّمَا نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" أَنْ يُشْرَبَ فِي إِنَاءِ الْفِضَّةِ".
