Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4818
Matalib bin Abdullah said that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to wash the limbs of wudu three times and he used to attribute this to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to wash them once and he also used to attribute this to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

مطلب بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما اعضاء وضو کو تین تین مرتبہ دھوتے تھے اور اس کی نسبت نبی کریم ﷺ کی طرف کرتے تھے جب کہ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما ایک ایک مرتبہ دھوتے تھے اور وہ بھی اس کی نسبت نبی کریم ﷺ کی طرف کرتے تھے۔
Matlab bin Abdullah kehte hain ki Sayyidna Ibn Umar RA azaa wazu ko teen teen martaba dhote thay aur is ki nisbat Nabi Kareem SAW ki taraf karte thay jab keh Sayyidna Ibn Abbas RA aik aik martaba dhote thay aur wo bhi is ki nisbat Nabi Kareem SAW ki taraf karte thay.
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ ، قَالَ:" كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ثَلَاثًا"، يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. (حديث موقوف) وَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ " يَتَوَضَّأُ مَرَّةً"، يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
