Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4975
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "It is better for one of you that his stomach should be filled with vomit than that it should be filled with poetry."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کو یہ ارشاد فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے: ”تم میں سے کسی کا پیٹ قے سے بھر جانا اس بات کی نسبت زیادہ بہتر ہے کہ وہ شعر سے بھر جائے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye irshad farmate hue suna hai: ”Tum mein se kisi ka pet qay se bhar jana is baat ki nisbat ziada behtar hai ki woh sher se bhar jaye۔“
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، سَمِعْتُ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ الْجُمَحِيَّ ، سَمِعْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:" لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا".
