Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5269
`Abdul Rahman bin Ayman (may Allah have mercy on him) once asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about the issue of divorce during menstruation. Abu al-Zubayr was listening to these things. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also recited this verse of Surah Al-Ahzab in this way: "O Prophet! When you people want to divorce your wives, then divorce them at the beginning of their waiting period (meaning divorce during the period of purity, not during the period of menstruation).

عبدالرحمن بن ایمن رحمہ اللہ نے ایک مرتبہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے ایام کی حالت میں طلاق کا مسئلہ پوچھا، ابو الزبیر یہ باتیں سن رہے تھے، سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا کہ نبی ﷺ نے سورہ احزاب کی یہ آیت اس طرح بھی پڑھی ہے، اے نبی! جب آپ لوگ اپنی بیویوں کو طلاق دینا چاہو تو ان کی عدت کے آغاز میں طلاق دو (ایام طہر میں طلاق دینا مراد ہے نہ کہ ایام حیض میں)۔
Abdulrehman bin Aiman rehmatullah alaih ne aik martaba syedna ibne Umar razi Allah anhuma se ayam ki halat mein talaq ka masla poocha, abu al zuber ye baaten sun rahe the, syedna ibne Umar razi Allah anhuma ne farmaya keh nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sura ahzab ki ye ayat is tarah bhi parhi hai, aye nabi! jab aap log apni biwiyon ko talaq dena chaho to un ki iddat ke aghaz mein talaq do (ayam taher mein talaq dena murad hai na keh ayam haiz mein).
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَيْمَنَ يَسْأَلُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، وَأَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ يَسْمَعُ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ :" قَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ سورة الطلاق آية 1 فِي قُبُلِ عِدَّتِهِنَّ.
