Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5326
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Trim the mustache close to the upper lip and leave the beard to grow.”
Grade: Da'if
سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”اوپر والے ہونٹ کی مونچھوں کو تراش لیا کرو اور نیچے والے ہونٹ کے بالوں کو چھوڑ دیا کرو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: "Upar wale hont ki moonchhon ko tarash liya karo aur neeche wale hont ke balon ko chhor diya karo."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي ثُوَيْرٌ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" خُذُوا مِنْ هَذَا، وَدَعُوا هَذَا"، يَعْنِي: شَارِبَهُ الْأَعْلَى يَأْخُذُ مِنْهُ، يَعْنِي: الْعَنْفَقَةَ.
