Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5879
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to go to the Eid prayers by one route and return by another route.

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ , قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ هو عَبْدٌ الله بْنِ أَحْمَّد: وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" كَانَ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى الْعِيدَيْنِ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ وَيَرْجِعُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ أُخْرَى".
