Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5948
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he never fasted on the Day of Arafat, nor did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Abu Bakr or Umar (may Allah be pleased with them).

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے یوم عرفہ کا روزہ کبھی نہیں رکھا، نیز اس دن کا روزہ نبی ﷺ ، ابوبکر اور عمر رضی اللہ عنہما میں سے بھی کسی نے نہیں رکھا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki maine Yaum Arafa ka roza kabhi nahin rakha, neez is din ka roza Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), Abu Bakr aur Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a mein se bhi kisi ne nahin rakha.
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ:" مَا صُمْتُ عَرَفَةَ قَطُّ , وَلَا صَامَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَلَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , وَلَا عُمَرُ".
