Chapter on what is mentioned about the permissibility for a man to adorn himself with his ring, sword ornament, and Quran if they are of silver.
باب ما ورد فيما يجوز للرجل أن يتحلى به من خاتمه وحلية سيفه ومصحفه إذا كان من فضة.
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 7562
Nafi' ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A gold ring was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) put it on his right hand, turning its stone towards his palm. Then the people started making gold rings for themselves. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw that, he took it off and said, "I will never wear this." Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made a ring of silver.

(٧٥٦٢) حضرت نافع ابن عمر (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس سونے کی انگوٹھی لائی گئی ، اس کو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دائیں ہاتھ میں رکھا اور اس کے نگینے کو ہتھیلی کی طرف کیا تو لوگوں نے سونے کی انگوٹھیاں بنالیں، جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے یہ دیکھا تو اسے اتار دیا اور فرمایا : میں اسے کبھی بھی نہیں پہنوں گا ، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چاندی کی انگوٹھی بنائی۔
7562 Hazrat Nafe Ibn Umar (RA) se naqal farmate hain ke Nabi Kareem (SAW) ke pass sone ki angoothi laayi gayi, is ko aap (SAW) ne daayen hath mein rakha aur is ke nageene ko hatheli ki taraf kiya to logon ne sone ki angoothian bana lin, jab aap (SAW) ne ye dekha to isay utaar diya aur farmaya: mein isay kabhi bhi nahi pehnoon ga, phir aap (SAW) ne chandi ki angoothi banayi.
(7563) Narrated Abdullah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) got a ring of gold made and wore it with its stone towards his palm. The people also got rings of gold made (and wore them similarly). The Prophet (ﷺ), then, threw away (his) ring. He (the Prophet) then got a ring made of silver.

(٧٥٦٣) عبداللہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سونے کی انگوٹھی بنائی اور اس کے نگینے کو ہتھیلی کی طرف کیا تو لوگوں نے بھی بنوالیں ، چنانچہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انگوٹھی پھینک دی ۔ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چاندی کی انگوٹھی بنوالی۔
7563 Abdullah (rz) farmate hain ki rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne sone ki anguthi banai aur uske nageene ko hatheli ki taraf kiya to logon ne bhi banwalin, chunancha aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne anguthi phenk di. Phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne chandi ki anguthi banwali.
(7564) Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a ring made of silver, which he used to wear on his hand. Then after him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) it was in the possession of Abu Bakr, then in the possession of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), then it was in the possession of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) until it fell from his hand into the well of Aris. On it was inscribed "Muhammad Rasulullah" (Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah).
Narrated from Abd al-Aziz bin Abu Rawwad bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to wear the ring on his left hand. Nafi' said that Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to wear the ring on his left hand, but it is possible that the one he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wore on his right hand was a gold ring and the one he threw away was on his left hand. It was a silver ring, this is a reconciliation of the narrations.

(٧٥٦٤) عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چاندی کی انگوٹھی بنوائی جسے اپنے ہاتھ میں پہنا کرتے تھے، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے بعد ابوبکر کے ہاتھ میں تھی پھر عمر (رض) کے ہاتھ میں ، پھر وہ عثمان (رض) کے ہاتھ میں تھی کہ وہ ان سے ارسیں کنویں میں گرگئی جس پر محمد رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) لکھا ہوا تھا۔
عبد العزیز بن ابو رواد ابن عمر (رض) کے حوالے سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے بائیں ہاتھ میں انگوٹھی پہنتے تھے۔ نافع فرماتے ہیں کہ ابن عمر (رض) بائیں ہاتھ میں انگوٹھی پہنتے تھے مگر اس بات کا احتمال ہے کہ جسے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دائیں ہاتھ میں پہنا ہو وہ سونے کی انگوٹھی ہو اور جسے پھینک دیا تھا وہ بائیں ہاتھ میں تھی۔ وہ چاندی کی انگوٹھی تھی، یہ دور وایتوں کی تطبیق ہے۔
(7564) Abdullah bin Umar (RA) farmate hain keh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne chandi ki anguthi banwai jise apne hath mein pehna karte thay, phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke bad Abu Bakr ke hath mein thi phir Umar (RA) ke hath mein, phir woh Usman (RA) ke hath mein thi keh woh un se arsi kunwein mein gir gai jis par Muhammad Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) likha hua tha.
Abdul Aziz bin Abu Rawad bin Umar (RA) ke hawale se naqal farmate hain keh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne bayen hath mein anguthi pehente thay. Nafi farmate hain keh Ibn Umar (RA) bayen hath mein anguthi pehente thay magar is baat ka ehtemahal hai keh jise aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne dayen hath mein pehna ho woh sone ki anguthi ho aur jise phenk diya tha woh bayen hath mein thi. Woh chandi ki anguthi thi, yeh door wayaton ki tatbiq hai.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a ring made of silver and he wore it on his right hand, and he would keep the stone towards his palm, and its stone was Ethiopian.

(٧٥٦٥) حضرت انس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چاندی کی انگوٹھی بنوائی اور اسے دائیں ہاتھ میں پہن لیا اور اس کے نگینے کو ہتھیلی کی طرف کرتے اور اس کا نگینہ حبشی تھا۔
(7565) Hazrat Anas (RA) farmate hain ke Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne chandi ki anguthi banwai aur use dayen hath mein pehen liya aur uske nageene ko hatheli ki taraf karte aur uska nageena Habshi tha.
Zahri narrates from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a ring made of silver and he wore it in his right hand. Its stone was Abyssinian, which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to keep towards his palm.

(٧٥٦٦) زہری انس (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چاندی کی انگوٹھی بنوائی اور اسے دائیں ہاتھ میں پہنا ، اس کا نگینہ حبشی تھا، جسے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنی ہتھیلی کی طرف رکھتے تھے۔
7566 Zehri Anas (RA) se naql farmate hain ke Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne chandi ki anguthi banwai aur usey daayen hath mein pehna, iska nageena habashi tha, jisey Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) apni hatheli ki taraf rakhte thay.
Thaabit (RA) narrates that Anas (RA) said: As though I am looking at the whiteness of the ring (stone) of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he pointed towards his left hand. In another narration it states: the ring of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in it, and he pointed towards the middle finger of his left hand.

(٧٥٦٧) حضرت ثابت فرماتے ہیں کہ انس (رض) نے کہا : گویا کہ میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی انگوٹھی کی سفیدی (نگینہ) کو دیکھ رہا ہوں اور بائیں ہاتھ طرف اشارہ کیا۔ دوسری حدیث میں ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی انگوٹھی اس میں تھی اور بائیں ہاتھ کی درمیانی انگلی کی طرف اشارہ کیا۔
(7567) Hazrat Sabit farmate hain ki Anas (RA) ne kaha: Goya ki main Rasul Allah (SAW) ki ungothi ki safedi (nageena) ko dekh raha hun aur bayen hath taraf ishara kiya. Dusri hadees mein hai ki Nabi (SAW) ki ungothi is mein thi aur bayen hath ki darmiyani ungli ki taraf ishara kiya.
(7568) Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the ring of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in this, and he pointed to his left middle finger.
The Shaykh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It is doubtful that this is more correct than the narration of Zuhri, which he narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). Regarding the ring of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) which was made of silver, Zuhri narrated from Anas that he saw a silver ring in the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then people made rings of silver and wore them, when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took off his ring, the people also took off their rings. The doubt in this is that if the mention of the silver ring in this story is from the previous story, then it is considered a mistake, because the ring that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took off was made of gold, then he had one made of silver. The narration of Ibn Umar indicates that the one that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wore on his right hand was a gold ring, then Anas bin Malik also took it off, and the one that was mentioned as being on his right hand was made of gold.

(٧٥٦٨) انس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی انگوٹھی اس میں تھی اور اپنے بائیں ہاتھ کی درمیانی انگلی کی طرف اشارہ کیا۔
شیخ فرماتے ہیں کہ اس بات کا شبہ ہے کہ یہ زہری کی روایت سے زیادہ صحیح ہو، جو انھوں نے انس (رض) سے روایت کی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی اس انگوٹھی کے بارے میں جو چاندی سے بنوائی تھی تو زہری نے انس سے نقل کیا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ہاتھ میں چاندی کی انگوٹھی دیکھی، پھر لوگوں نے چاندی سے انگوٹھیاں بنوائیں اور انھیں پہنا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنی انگوٹھی پھینکی تو لوگوں نے بھی پھینک دیں ۔ اس میں یہ شبہ ہے کہ اس قصے میں چاندی کی انگوٹھی کا تذکرہ پہلے قصہ سے ہو تو اسے وہم پر محمول کرلیا گیا کیونکہ جو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انگوٹھی پھینکی وہ سونے کی تھی، پھر چاندی سے بنوائی۔ ابن عمر کی روایت دلالت کرتی ہے کہ جو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دائیں ہاتھ میں پہنی وہ سونے کی انگوٹھی تھی، پھر اسے انس بن مالک نے بھی پھینک دیاجس کا دائیں ہاتھ میں تذکرہ کیا وہ سونے کی تھی۔
(7568) Anas (RA) farmate hain ke Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki anguthi is mein thi aur apne bayen hath ki darmiyani ungli ki taraf ishara kiya. Sheikh farmate hain ke is baat ka shak hai ke yeh Zuhri ki riwayat se zyada sahih ho, jo unhon ne Anas (RA) se riwayat ki. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki is anguthi ke bare mein jo chandi se banwai thi to Zuhri ne Anas se naqal kiya ke Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke hath mein chandi ki anguthi dekhi, phir logon ne chandi se anguthiyan banwai aur unhen pehna, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apni anguthi phenki to logon ne bhi phenk din. Is mein yeh shak hai ke is qisse mein chandi ki anguthi ka tazkira pehle qissa se ho to use wahm par mahmul kar liya gaya kyunki jo Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne anguthi phenki woh sone ki thi, phir chandi se banwai. Ibn Umar ki riwayat dalalat karti hai ke jo Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne dayen hath mein pahni woh sone ki anguthi thi, phir use Anas bin Malik ne bhi phenk diya jis ka dayen hath mein tazkira kiya woh sone ki thi.
Ja'far ibn Muhammad narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wore a gold ring on the middle finger of his right hand until he returned home. Then he took it off and did not wear it again. Then he wore a silver ring on his left hand. Abu Bakr, Umar, Ali ibn Abi Talib, Hasan, and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) also wore rings on their left hands.

(٧٥٦٩) حضرت جعفر بن محمد اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے دائیں ہاتھ میں سونے کی انگوٹھی پہنی درمیانی انگلی میں ۔ یہاں تک کہ آپ گھرپلٹے تو اسے پھینک دیا ، پھر اسے نہ پہنا ۔ پھر چاندی انگوٹھی اپنے بائیں ہاتھ میں پہنی۔ ابوبکر (رض) وعمر (رض) علی بن ابی طالب اور حسن و حسین (رض) نے بھی اپنے بائیں ہاتھ میں انگوٹھی پہنی۔
7569 Hazrat Jaffar bin Muhammad apne walid se naqal farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apne dayen hath mein sone ki anguthi pahni darmiyani ungli mein. Yahan tak ke aap ghar palte to use phenk diya, phir use na pahna. Phir chandi anguthi apne bayen hath mein pahni. Abubakar (RA) o Umar (RA) Ali bin Abi Talib aur Hasan o Hussain (RA) ne bhi apne bayen hath mein anguthi pahni.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the handle of the sword of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was of silver.

(٧٥٧٠) حضرت انس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی تلوار کا دستہ چاندی کا تھا۔
(7570) Hazrat Anas (RA) farmate hain ki Rasool Allah (SAW) ki talwar ka dasta chandi ka tha.
(7571) Sa'eed bin Abu'l-Hasan narrates that the handle of the Messenger of Allah's (ﷺ) sword was made of silver. Qutadah said: I have not seen anyone say such a thing.

(٧٥٧١) سعید بن ابو الحسن فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی تلوار کا دستہ چاندی کا تھا۔ قتادہ کہتے ہیں : میں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ کسی نے ایسا کہا ہو۔
(7571) Saeed bin Abu al-Hasan farmate hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki talwar ka dasta chandi ka tha. Qatadah kahte hain : main ne nahin dekha ki kisi ne aisa kaha ho.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the handle of the sword of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was made of silver.

(٧٥٧٢) حضرت انس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی تلوار کا دستہ چاندی سے بنا ہوا تھا۔
(7572) Hazrat Anas (RA) farmate hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ki talwar ka dasta chandi se bana hua tha.
Marzooq Siqal states that I polished the sword of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), its handle was made of silver, its name was Zulfiqar, its sheath was made of silver and gold was inlaid in the middle, and its ring was also made of silver.

(٧٥٧٣) مرزوق صیقل فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی تلوار کو صاف کیا تو اس کا دستہ چاندی کا تھا اس کا نام ذالفقار تھا اس کا قبیعہ چاندی کا تھا اور درمیان میں سونا لگا ہوا تھا اور اس کا خلقہ بھی چاندی کا تھا۔
(7573) Marzooq saikal farmate hain ke maine nabi kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki talwar ko saaf kiya to is ka dasta chandi ka tha is ka naam zulfiqar tha is ka qabza chandi ka tha aur darmiyan mein sona laga hua tha aur is ka khalqa bhi chandi ka tha.
Nafi' reported that Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had girded on the sword of 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) on the day 'Uthman was murdered, and it was inlaid with gold. He (Nafi') said: I said: How much was its price? He said: Four hundred.

(٧٥٧٤) حضرت نافع فرماتے ہیں کہ ابن عمر (رض) نے عمر (رض) کی تلوار کو قتل عثمان کے دن آراستہ کیا اور وہ منقش تھی، فرماتے ہیں : میں نے کہا : اس کی مقدار کتنی تھی تو انھوں نے کہا چار سو۔
7574 Hazrat Nafe farmate hain ki Ibn Umar (RA) ne Umar (RA) ki talwar ko qatl Usman ke din arasta kiya aur woh munqish thi, farmate hain : maine kaha : is ki miqdar kitni thi to unhon ne kaha chaar sau.
Nafi' said that when 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred in the Battle of Siffin, Amir Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) bought his sword and sent it to Abdullah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). [Abdullah ibn 'Umar] said, "I said to Nafi', 'That sword belonged to 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), didn't it?' He said, 'Yes.' So I said, 'How much was its ornamentation worth?' He said, 'They got forty dirhams from its hilt.'"

(٧٥٧٥) حضرت نافع فرماتے ہیں کہ عبید اللہ بن عمر (رض) جنگِ صفین میں شہید ہوگئے تو ان کی تلوار امیر معاویہ (رض) نے خریدی اور عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) کو بھیج دی جو یریہ فرماتی ہیں کہ میں نے نافع سے کہا : وہ تلوار عمر (رض) کی تھی تو انھوں نے کہا : ہاں تو میں نے کہا : اس کا زیور کتنا تھا ؟ اس نے کہا کہ اس کی میان میں سے انھیں چالیس درہم حاصل ہوئے۔
Hazrat Nafe farmate hain ke Ubaid Ullah bin Umar jang e Safeen mein shaheed hogaye to un ki talwar Ameer Muawiya ne kharidi aur Abdullah bin Umar ko bhij di jo ye riwayat farmati hain ke maine Nafe se kaha woh talwar Umar ki thi to unhon ne kaha haan to maine kaha is ka zewar kitna tha usne kaha ke is ki miyan mein se unhen chalis dirham hasil huye
Masudi says: I saw in the house of Abu al-Qasim ibn Abd al-Rahman a sword hanging, and its hilt was of silver. I said: "Whose sword is this?" He said: "Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud's (may Allah be pleased with him)."

(٧٥٧٧) مسعودی فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابو القاسم ابن عبدالرحمن کے گھر میں دیکھا کہ تلوار لٹکی ہوئی ہے اور اس کا دستہ چاندی کا تھا، میں نے کہا : یہ تلوار کس کی ہے ؟ تو انھوں نے کہا : عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) کی۔
Masudi farmate hain ki maine Abu alqasim ibn Abd alrahman ke ghar mein dekha ki talwar latki hui hai aur iska dasta chandi ka tha, maine kaha : yah talwar kiski hai ? to unhon ne kaha : Abdullah bin Masud (Raz) ki.
Walid bin Muslim said: I asked Malik about decorating a copy of the Quran with silver. He took out a copy of the Quran and said: My grandfather narrated to me a hadith that they compiled the Quran during the time of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) and decorated it with silver in this way.

(٧٥٧٨) ولید بن مسلم فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے مالک سے مصحف کے چاندی سے آراستہ کرنے کے بارے میں پوچھا تو اس نے ایک مصحف نکالا ، پھر کہا : مجھے میرے دادا نے حدیث بیان کی کہ انھوں نے سیدنا عثمان (رض) کے دور میں قرآن جمع کیا اور اسی طرح چاندی سے مزین کیا۔
7578 Waleed bin Muslim farmate hain ki maine Maalik se mushaf ke chandi se arasta karne ke bare mein poocha to usne ek mushaf nikala phir kaha mujhe mere dada ne hadees bayaan ki ki unhon ne Sayyidna Usman (RA) ke daur mein Quran jama kiya aur isi tarah chandi se mazeen kiya
