Chapter on what is permissible to give from the produce to the people of the desert in Zakat al-Fitr, such as barley and others.

Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), we used to give one Sa' of wheat, barley, or cheese as Sadaqat-ul-Fitr.

(٧٧٢٩) ابو سعید (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے دور میں صدقہ فطر گندم جو یا پنیر کا ایک صاع دیتے تھے۔

Abu Hazifa reported that Sufyan narrated a hadith with this chain of narration that during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), we used to give one sa' of wheat, dates, barley, raisins, or cheese (in charity). When Amir Mu'awiya (ra) came (to power) and rice was also cultivated, the people considered it equivalent to two mudd of wheat.

(٧٧٣٠) ابو حذیفہ فرماتے ہیں کہ سفیان نے اسی سند سے حدیث بیان کی کہ ہم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے زمانے میں گندم، کھجور ، جو، منقیٰ یاپنیر کا ایک صاع دیا کرتے تھے ۔ جب امیر معاویہ (رض) آئے اور چاول بھی کاشت ہوئے تو لوگوں نے اسے گندم کے دو مد کے برابر سمجھا۔
(7730) Abu Huzaifa farmate hain ki Sufyan ne isi sanad se hadees bayan ki ke hum Rasul Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) ke zamane mein gandum, khajoor, jau, munqa ya paneer ka ek sa'a diya karte the. Jab Ameer Muawiyah (ra) aaye aur chawal bhi kasht hue to logon ne use gandum ke do mud ke barabar samjha.
Abu Sa'eed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that some villagers came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! We are people of livestock, so will the Sadaqat-ul-Fitr be waived for us?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No, you should pay it on behalf of every male and female, young and old, free and slave, a Sa' of dates, or barley, or raisins, or cheese."

(٧٧٣١) حضرت ابو سعید خدری (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ کچھ دیہاتی رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آئے اور عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! ہم مال مویشی والے ہیں ، کیا ہم سے صدقہ فطر معاف کردیں گے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : نہیں تم ہر چھوٹے بڑے مذکر و مونث اور غلام و آزاد کی طرف سے ادا کرو، کھجور، منقی ‘ جو یا پنیر کا ایک صاع۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) farmate hain ke kuch dehati Rasool Allah (SAW) ke pas aaye aur arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasool! hum mal moishi wale hain, kya hum se sadqa fitr maaf kar denge? To aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Nahin tum har chhote badey muzakkar o mo'annas aur ghulam o azad ki taraf se ada karo, khajoor, munqa', jau ya paneer ka ek sa'.
Hashim narrated to us from Abu Hurairah that Hasan was asked about what the villagers should pay for Zakat-ul-Fitr. He said: "They should pay one Sa' of dates."

(٧٧٣٢) ہشیم ابو حرہ سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ حسن سے دیہاتیوں کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا کہ وہ صدقہ فطر کیا ادا کریں ؟ تو انھوں نے فرمایا : ایک صاع دودھ ادا کردیں۔
7732 Hisham Abu Hura se naql farmate hain keh Hasan se dehatiyon ke bare mein poocha gaya keh woh sadaqa fitr kya ada karen? Tou unhon ne farmaya: Ek saa doodh ada kar dein.
