Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about paying his Zakat earlier than it was due, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted him to do so.

(٧٣٦٥) علی (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ عباس (رض) نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے اپنی زکوۃ کی جلد ادائیگی کا سوال کیا اس کے واجب ہونے سے پہلے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں اجازت دے دی۔

Saeed bin Mansoor narrates that Abu Dawood narrated this hadith and mentioned the complete hadith.
He narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): We have already collected one year's Zakat from Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him). It is also narrated in the story of Amr ibn Abbas that we used to hasten in taking charity from the wealth of Abbas, so much so that we would take the Zakat of the following year in the current year.

(٧٣٦٦) سعید بن منصور فرماتے ہیں کہ ابو داؤد نے یہ حدیث بیان کی اور اس پوری حدیث کا تذکرہ کیا۔
فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے عمر (رض) کو فرمایا : ہم نے عباس (رض) سے ایک سال کی زکوۃ پہلے وصول کرلی ہے، نیز عمرو عباس کے قصے میں یہ بات بھی منقول ہے کہ ہم عباس کے مال کا صدقہ لینے میں جلدی کرتے تھے ، اس سال میں آنے والے سال کی زکوۃ لے لیتے۔

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) as a collector of Zakat. Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) did not give Zakat. Then Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) told this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) what Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Umar! Don't you know that the uncle is like a father? If we were in need, we would have taken two years' worth of Zakat as a loan from Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)."
In one narration, it is stated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took one or two years' worth of Zakat in advance from Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him).

(٧٣٦٧) علی (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے عمر (رض) کو عامل بنا کر بھیجا اور عباس (رض) نے زکوۃ نہ دی اور پھر عمر (رض) نے یہ بات رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو بتائی جو عباس (رض) نے کہی آپ نے فرمایا : اے عمر ! کیا تم جانتے نہیں کہ چچا باپ کی قسم ہوتا ہے ہم ضرورت محسوس کرتے تو عباس (رض) سے دو سال کی زکوۃ ادھار لے لیتے تھے۔
ایک حدیث میں ہے کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے عباس (رض) سے ایک یا دو سال کی زکوۃ پہلے وصول کرلی۔

(7368) It is narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to collect Zakat. It was said that Ibn Jamil, Khalid bin Walid, and Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) did not pay Zakat. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Ibn Jamil is only taking revenge for the fact that he was needy and Allah has made him rich. And you are being unjust to Khalid. He has dedicated his crops and himself in the way of Allah. However, Abbas's Zakat is my responsibility, and this much more." Then he (the Prophet) said, "O Umar! Don't you know that a man's paternal uncle is like his father?"
Abu Zinad narrated in the Hadith that Zakat is due on him (Abbas) and an equal amount in addition to it. Abu Zinad also narrated from his father that he imposed upon him (Abbas) the Zakat of two years. This is why Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) had the excuse that Warqa' mentioned, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to collect two years' worth of Sadaqah from him in advance. This serves as evidence for the permissibility of collecting Zakat in advance. However, what Shuaib narrated is unlikely because Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) was among those who shared brotherhood with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Zakat is not permissible on the Banu Hashim. So, how could the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have given Sadaqah from the Zakat of two years on him? It has also been stated that the purpose of all these narrations, according to Warqa's narration, is that this (collecting Zakat in advance) is permissible and this is the more accurate opinion due to its alignment with the first narrations, serving as evidence for collecting Zakat promptly.

(٧٣٦٨) ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے عمر (رض) کو زکوۃ وصول کرنے کے لیے بھیجا تو کہا گیا کہ ابن جمیل ‘ خالد بن ولید اور عباس (رض) نے زکوۃ نہیں دی تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ابن جمیل تو صرف اس بات کا انتقام لے رہا ہے کہ وہ محتاج تھا، اللہ نے اسے غنی کردیا اور خالدپر تم ظلم و زیادتی کرتے ہو ۔ اس نے تو اپنی زرع اور خود کو اللہ کی راہ میں وقف کردیا ہے، لیکن عباس کی زکوۃ میرے ذمہ ہے اور اتنی مزید، پھر فرمایا : اے عمر ! کیا تو جانتا نہیں کہ آدمی کا چچا والد کی مانند ہوتا ہے۔
ابو زناد نے حدیث میں بیان کیا کہ یہ اس پر زکوۃ ہے اور اس کے برابر اور بھی۔ نیز ابو لزناد اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے ان پر محمول کیا ہے کہ آپ نے اس سے دو سال کا صدقہ مؤخر کیا، اس وجہ سے عباس (رض) کو عذر تھا جو ورقاء نے بیان کیا ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ان سے دو سال کا صدقہ پہلے وصول فرما لیتے اور اس میں پہلے زکوۃ وصول کرنے کے جواز کی دلیل ہے، مگر جو شعیب نے بیان کیا وہ بعید ہے؛ کیونکہ عباس (رض) آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی برادری میں سے تھے اور بنو ہاشم پر زکوۃ حلال نہیں۔ سو پھر رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان پر دو سال کی زکوۃ کیسے صدقہ کردی اور یہ بھی بیان کیا گیا ہے کہ ان تمام روایات سے مقصود یہ ہے کہ یہ بھی ورقاء کی روایت کے موافق ہے اور یہ پہلی روایات کی موافقت کی وجہ سے زیادہ صحیح ہیجس میں زکوۃ جلد وصول کرنے کی دلیل ہے۔
(7368) Abu Huraira (RA) farmate hain keh Rasool Allah (SAW) ne Umar (RA) ko zakat wasool karne ke liye bheja to kaha gaya keh Ibn Jameel, Khalid bin Waleed aur Abbas (RA) ne zakat nahi di to Rasool Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Ibn Jameel to sirf is baat ka inteqam le raha hai keh woh mohtaj tha, Allah ne usay ghani kar diya aur Khalid per tum zulm o ziyadti karte ho. Usne to apni zira'at aur khud ko Allah ki rah mein waqf kar diya hai, lekin Abbas ki zakat mere zimma hai aur itni mazeed, phir farmaya: Aye Umar! Kya tu janta nahin keh aadmi ka chacha walid ki manind hota hai.
Abu Zinad ne hadees mein bayan kiya keh yeh is per zakat hai aur is ke barabar aur bhi. Neez Abu Zinad apne walid se naqal farmate hain keh unhon ne un per mahmool kya hai keh aap ne is se do saal ka sadaqa moakhar kya, is wajah se Abbas (RA) ko uzr tha jo Warqa ne bayan kya hai keh aap (SAW) unse do saal ka sadaqa pehle wasool farma lete aur is mein pehle zakat wasool karne ke jawaaz ki daleel hai, magar jo Shu'aib ne bayan kya woh ba'eed hai; kyunkeh Abbas (RA) aap (SAW) ki biradri mein se thay aur Banu Hashim per zakat halal nahin. So phir Rasool Allah (SAW) ne un per do saal ki zakat kaise sadaqa kar di aur yeh bhi bayan kya gaya hai keh in tamam riwayat se maqsud yeh hai keh yeh bhi Warqa ki riwayat ke muwafiq hai aur yeh pehli riwayat ki muwafaqat ki wajah se zyada sahih hijs mein zakat jald wasool karne ki daleel hai.
Nafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give Zakat-ul-Fitr (in advance) to those who would collect it from him two or three days before Eid-ul-Fitr.
