Chapter on not restricting either of them from speaking about what does not involve sin, whether hair or other.
باب لا يضيق على واحد منهما أن يتكلم بما لا يأثم فيه من شعر، أو غيره
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 9180
(9180) Abi bin Ka'b al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Verily, in some poetry there is wisdom."
Grade: Sahih
(٩١٨٠) ابی بن کعب انصاری (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : یقیناً بعض اشعار پر حکمت ہوتے ہیں۔
(9180) abi bin kab ansari (rz) farmate hain ke nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : yaqeenan baz ashaar par hikmat hote hain.
Urwah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Poetry is speech. Good poetry is like good speech, and bad poetry is like bad speech."

(٩١٨١) عروہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : شعر کلام ہے۔ اچھا شعر اچھی کلام کی طرح اور برا شعر بری کلام کی طرح ہے۔
(9181) Urwa (rz) farmate hain ke Rasul Allah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) ne farmaya : Sher kalam hai. Acha sher achi kalam ki tarah aur bura sher buri kalam ki tarah hai.
Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was in the state of Ihram. When he mounted the she-camel, she started to act startled. When he would move one leg forward, she would move the other back. He said, "It's as if her rider is a feather on a fan, when he moves it, it flies or the one who is giving water is slow." Then he said, "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar."

(٩١٨٣) عمر بن خطاب (رض) محرم تھے، اونٹنی پر سوار ہوئے تو وہ اڑی کرنے لگی، ایک قدم آگے بڑھائی تو دوسرا پیچھے کرتی تو انھوں نے کہا : ” گویا کہ اس کا سوار پنکھے کی ٹہنی ہے، جب وہ اس کو لے کر اڑ جاتا ہے یا پینے والا سست ہے “ پھر کہا : اللہ اکبر، اللہ اکبر۔
(9183) Umar bin Khattab (RA) muharram thay, oontni par sawar huay to woh urri karnay lagi, aik qadam aagay barhai to doosra peechay karti to unhon ne kaha : ” Goya keh is ka sawar pankhay ki tahni hai, jab woh is ko lay kar urr jata hai ya peenay wala sust hai “ phir kaha : Allah Akbar, Allah Akbar.
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that once he was walking with Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) during his caliphate, and there were also Muhajireen and Ansar with them. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) recited a verse of poetry in a melodious voice, and an Iraqi man said (there was no other Iraqi present at that time except him), "O Commander of the Faithful! Had anyone else besides you said this...” Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) became upset by this statement and urged his ride on until he was separated from the caravan.

(٩١٨٤) عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ وہ عمر (رض) کے دور خلافت میں ان کے ساتھ چل رہے تھے کہ اور مہاجرین و انصار بھی ساتھ تھے، انھوں نے سُر لگا کر ایک شعر پڑھا تو ایک عراقی آدمی نے کہا : اس وقت اس کے ساتھ اور کوئی عراقی نہیں تھا کہ اے امیرالمومنین ! آپ کے علاوہ کوئی اور یہ کہتا تو عمر (رض) کو اس بات سیحیا آئی اور انھوں نے اپنی سواری کو کو بھگایا حتیٰ کہ قافلے سے جدا ہوگئی۔
(9184) Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain ke ek martaba woh Umar (RA) ke dor khilafat mein un ke sath chal rahe the ke aur muhajireen o ansar bhi sath the, unhon ne sur laga kar ek sher parha to ek Iraqi aadmi ne kaha: Iss waqt iss ke sath aur koi Iraqi nahin tha ke aye Amir-ul-momineen! Aap ke ilawa koi aur yeh kehta to Umar (RA) ko iss baat seh ghussa aaya aur unhon ne apni sawari ko bhagaaya hatta ke qafle se juda hogayi.
Khuwat bin Jubair narrates that we went for Hajj with Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). We were in the caravan in which Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah and Abdur Rahman bin Auf (may Allah be pleased with them) were also present. The people said: "O Khuwat! Sing us something." So he sang to them. They said: "Recite to us the poetry of Dirar." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Leave it to Abdullah, let him recite his poetry." So I kept reciting to them until dawn. When it was morning, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Khuwat! Raise your voice, we have already prayed Fajr." Abu Ubaidah said: "Move towards this man, lest there be any harm from Umar." He says that I and Abu Ubaidah separated until we prayed Fajr.

(٩١٨٥) خوات بن جبیر فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم عمر بن خطاب (رض) کے ساتھ حج کرنے کے لیے نکلے تو ہم اس قافلہ میں ہو لیے جس میں ابوعبیدہ بن الجراح اور عبدالرحمن بن عوف (رض) تھے تو لوگوں نے کہا : اے خوات ! ہمیں کچھ گا کر سنا تو اس نے ان کو سنایا تو انھوں نے کہا : ہمیں ضرار کے اشعار سنا تو عمر (رض) نے کہا ابوعبداللہ کو چھوڑ دو، وہ اپنی شاعری پیش کرے تو میں ان کو سناتا رہا حتیٰ کہ جب سحر ہوئی تو عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : اے خوات ! اپنی زبان بلند کر، ہم نے سحر کرلی ہے تو ابوعبیدہ نے کہا : اس آدمی کی طرف چل، کہیں عمر سے شر نہ ہو۔ کہتے ہیں کہ میں اور ابوعبیدہ علیحدہ ہوئے حتیٰ کہ ہم نے فجر پڑھ لی۔
9185 Khuwat bin Jubair farmate hain ki hum Umar bin Khattab (RA) ke sath Hajj karne ke liye nikle to hum us qafila mein ho liye jis mein Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah aur Abdur Rahman bin Auf (RA) thay to logon ne kaha: Aye Khuwat! Humein kuch gakar suna to usne unko sunaya to unhon ne kaha: Humein Dirar ke ashaar suna to Umar (RA) ne kaha: Abdullah ko chhor do, woh apni shayari pesh kare to main unko sunata raha hatta ke jab sahar hui to Umar (RA) ne farmaya: Aye Khuwat! Apni zaban buland kar, humne sahar kar li hai to Abu Ubaidah ne kaha: Is aadmi ki taraf chal, kahin Umar se shar na ho. Kahte hain ki main aur Abu Ubaidah alag huye hatta ki humne fajr padh li.
