Chapter on Those Who Claim that Praying Tarawih and Other Night Prayers Alone is Better
باب من زعم أن صلاة التراويح، وغيرها من صلاة الليل بالانفراد أفضل
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4607
Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made an enclosure of mats in Ramadan. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed in it for a few nights. In the narration of Marthidi, it is mentioned that it was for two nights, and people prayed with him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) realized their fatigue, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sat down and said: "I have seen your state, O people! Pray in your houses, for the best prayer of a person is that which he prays at home, except for the obligatory prayer."

(٤٦٠٧) زید بن ثابت (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے رمضان میں ایک چٹائی کا حجرہ بنایا۔ اس میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چند راتیں نماز پڑھی۔ مرثدی کی روایت میں ہے کہ دو راتیں اور لوگوں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کی تھکاوٹ کو جان لیا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بیٹھ گئے اور پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : میں نے تمہاری حالت کو دیکھ لیا، لوگو ! تم اپنے گھروں میں نماز پڑھا کرو؛کیونکہ آدمی کی افضل نماز وہ ہے جو وہ گھر میں پڑھتا ہے، سوائے فرض نماز کے۔
(4607) Zaid bin Sabit (RA) farmate hain ke Nabi (SAW) ne Ramzan mein ek chatai ka hujra banaya. Is mein aap (SAW) ne chand raaten namaz parhayi. Marsadi ki riwayat mein hai ke do raaten aur logon ne aap (SAW) ke saath namaz parhayi. Jab aap (SAW) ne unki thakan ko jaan liya to aap (SAW) baith gaye aur phir aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Main ne tumhari halat ko dekh liya, logo! Tum apne gharon mein namaz parha karo; kyunki aadmi ki afzal namaz woh hai jo woh ghar mein parhta hai, siwae farz namaz ke.
Mujahid narrated from Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said to him: "Should I pray behind the Imam in Ramadan?" Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Are you not a Hafiz (one who has memorized the Quran)?" He said: "Yes, I am a Hafiz." Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Will you remain silent like a donkey? Then pray in your house."

(٤٦٠٨) مجاہد عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ ان کو کسی شخص نے کہا : میں رمضان میں امام کے پیچھے نماز پڑھ لیا کروں ؟ ابن عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : کیا تو حافظ نہیں ہے ؟ کہنے لگا : جی ہاں ! حافظ ہوں۔ ابن عمر (رض) کہنے لگے : کیا تو گدھے کی طرح خاموش رہے گا تو اپنے گھر میں نماز پڑھ۔
Mujahid Abdullah bin Umar (RA) se naqal farmate hain ki unko kisi shakhs ne kaha: mein Ramzan mein Imam ke peeche namaz parh liya karoon? Ibn Umar (RA) ne farmaya: kya tu hafiz nahin hai? Kehne laga: ji haan! Hafiz hoon. Ibn Umar (RA) kehne lage: kya tu gadhe ki tarah khamosh rahega to apne ghar mein namaz parh.
Nafi' ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he used to seclude himself in his house during Ramadan. When the people would finish praying and leave the mosque, he would take a water jug and go to the Prophet's mosque. Then he would not leave the mosque until he had prayed the morning prayer.

(٤٦٠٩) نافع ابن عمر (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ رمضان میں اپنے گھر قیام کیا کرتے تھے۔ جب لوگ نماز پڑھ کر مسجد سے نکلتے تو وہ پانی کا لوٹا پکڑتے اور مسجد نبوی کی طرف چلے جاتے، پھر وہ مسجد سے نہ نکلتے تھے یہاں تک کہ صبح کی نماز پڑھ لیتے ۔
Nafe ibn Umar (RA) se naql farmate hain ki woh Ramzan mein apne ghar qayam kiya karte the. Jab log namaz parh kar masjid se nikalte to woh pani ka lota pakarte aur Masjid Nabvi ki taraf chale jate, phir woh masjid se na nikalte the yahan tak ki subah ki namaz parh lete.
