Chapter on the Sick Person Leaving Night Vigil or Praying Sitting
باب المريض يترك القيام بالليل أو يصلي قاعدا
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4720
Aswad bin Qais narrated: I heard from Jundab (RA) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fell ill and did not lead the night prayer for one or two nights. A woman came and said, "O Muhammad! I think your shaitan (devil) has abandoned you." So, Allah, the Exalted, revealed these verses: "By the morning brightness, and by the night when it grows still! Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased."

(٤٧٢٠) اسود بن قیس فرماتے ہیں : میں نے جندب (رض) سے سنا کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بیمار ہوگئے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک یا دو راتیں قیام نہ کیا تو ایک عورت آئی اور کہنے لگی : اے محمد ! میرا خیال ہے (معاذ اللہ) تیرے شیطان نے تجھے چھوڑ دیا ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیات نازل کیں :{ وَالضُّحَی وَاللَّیْلِ إِذَا سَجَی مَا وَدَّعَکَ رَبُّکَ وَمَا قَلَی } قسم ہے روز روشن کی اور رات جب وہ سکون کے ساتھ چھا جائے، تمہارے رب نے تمہیں نہیں چھوڑا اور نہ ہی وہ ناراض ہوا ہے۔
Aswad bin Qais farmate hain : mein ne Jundab (RA) se suna ke Nabi (SAW) bimar hogaye to aap (SAW) ne ek ya do raatain qayam na kiya to ek aurat aayi aur kehne lagi : aye Muhammad ! mera khayal hai (maaz Allah) tere shaitan ne tujhe chhor diya hai, Allah ta'ala ne ye ayat nazil keen :{ wal-duha wal-laili iza saja ma wad'daka rabbuka wa ma qala } qasam hai roz roshan ki aur raat jab wo sukoon ke sath chha jaye, tumhare rab ne tumhen nahin chhora aur na hi wo naraaz hua hai.
Aswad said: I heard from Jundub that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) became sick and did not pray at night for one or two nights, a woman said: “O Muhammad! I hope that your Shaitan has left you, for I have not seen him near you for two or three nights.” So, Allah revealed these verses: “By the morning brightness, and by the night when it grows still and dark, your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is he displeased.”

(٤٧٢١) اسود کہتے ہیں : میں نے جندب (رض) سے سنا کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بیمار ہوگئے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک یا دو راتیں قیام نہ کیا۔ ایک عورت کہنے لگی : اے محمد ! میں امید کرتی ہوں کہ آپ کے شیطان نے آپ کو چھوڑ دیا ہے (معاذ اللہ) ، میں نے اس کو آپ کے قریب دو یا تین راتوں سے نہیں دیکھا۔ اللہ نے یہ آیات اتار دیں : { وَالضُّحَی وَاللَّیْلِ إِذَا سَجَی مَا وَدَّعَکَ رَبُّکَ وَمَا قَلَی } قسم ہے روز روشن کی اور رات کی جب وہ سکون کے ساتھ چھا جائے۔ تمہارے رب نے تمہیں نہیں چھوڑا اور نہ وہ ناراض ہوا ہے۔
(4721) Aswad kahte hain : maine Jundub (RA) se suna ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) bimar hogaye to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ek ya do raaten qayam na kia. Ek aurat kahne lagi : aye Muhammad! mein umeed karti hun ki aap ke shaitan ne aap ko chhor diya hai (maaza Allah), maine us ko aap ke qareeb do ya teen raaton se nahin dekha. Allah ne yeh ayat utaar deen : { Waldduhaa wal laili iza sajaa maa wadda AAaka rabbuka wa maa qalaa } qasam hai roz roshan ki aur raat ki jab woh sukoon ke sath chha jaye. Tumhare rabb ne tumhen nahin chhora aur na woh naraaz hua hai.
Abdullah bin Abi Musa Ash'ari reported: Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to me: Do not abandon the night prayer, for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not abandon it. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sick or weak, he would pray sitting down.

(٤٧٢٢) عبداللہ بن ابی موسیٰ نصری فرماتے ہیں کہ عائشہ (رض) نے مجھے کہا : تو رات کا قیام نہ چھوڑنا کیونکہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو نہیں چھوڑا۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بیمار ہوتے یا کمزور ہوتے تو بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھ لیتے۔
4722 Abdullah bin Abi Moosa Nasri farmate hain ki Ayesha (Raz) ne mujhe kaha: Tu raat ka qayam na chhorna kyunki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne isko nahin chhora. Jab aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) bimar hote ya kamzor hote to baith kar namaz parh lete.
