Abu Salama asked Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, about the night prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. She said: "He, peace and blessings be upon him, would pray thirteen rak'ahs. He, peace and blessings be upon him, would pray nine rak'ahs standing, including Witr, and two rak'ahs sitting. When he, peace and blessings be upon him, intended to prostrate, he would stand and perform the bowing and prostration. This he would do after Witr and then pray two rak'ahs when he heard the call to Fajr prayer."

(٤٨١٨) ابو سلمہ نے سیدہ عائشہ (رض) سے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی رات کی نماز کے بارے میں سوال کیا تو وہ فرمانے لگیں : آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تیرہ رکعات پڑھتے تھے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نو رکعات کھڑے ہو کر پڑھتے، ان میں وتر بھی ہوتے اور دو رکعات بیٹھ کر پڑھتے۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سجدے کا ارادہ کرتے تو کھڑے ہوتے اور رکوع و سجدہ کرتے۔ یہ وتر کے بعد کرتے اور دو رکعات پڑھتے جب صبح کی اذان سنتے۔
(4818) Abu Salma ne Sayyida Ayesha (RA) se Rasul Allah (SAW) ki raat ki namaz ke baare mein sawal kiya to woh farmane lagi: Aap (SAW) terah rakat parhte thay. Aap (SAW) nau rakat kharay ho kar parhte, in mein witr bhi hotay aur do rakat baith kar parhte. Jab aap (SAW) sajda ka irada karte to kharay hotay aur ruku w sujud karte. Ye witr ke baad karte aur do rakat parhte jab subah ki azan sunte.
Abu Salama reported on the authority of Aisha (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to offer two rak'ahs after witr. He would recite (the Quran) in them while sitting. When he intended to bow down, he would stand up.

(٤٨١٩) ابو سلمہ عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) وتر کے بعد دو رکعات پڑھتے۔ ان میں قرأت کرتے اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بیٹھے ہوئے ہوتے۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) رکوع کا ارادہ کرتے تو کھڑے ہوجاتے۔
4819 Abu Salma Ayesha (rz) se naql farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) witr ke bad do rakat parhte. In mein qirat karte aur aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) baithe hue hote. Jab aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ruku ka irada karte to kharay hojate.
Abu Salama bin Abdur Rahman narrates from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would pray thirteen rak'ahs at night. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would pray nine witr or as you have said, and two rak'ahs he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would pray while sitting. Then, between the Adhan and the Iqamah, he would offer two rak'ahs.

(٤٨٢٠) ابو سلمہ بن عبدالرحمن حضرت عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) رات کو تیرہ رکعات پڑھتے، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نو وتر پڑھے یا جیسے آپ نے فرمایا اور دو رکعات آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بیٹھے ہوئے پڑھتے، پھر اذان اور اقامت کے درمیان دو رکعات ادا کرتے۔
(4820) Abu Salma bin Abdur Rahman Hazrat Ayesha (Raz) se naqal farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) raat ko terah rakat parhte, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne nau witar parhe ya jaise Aap ne farmaya aur do rakat Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) baithe hue parhte, phir azan aur iqamat ke darmiyan do rakat ada karte.
(4821) It is narrated on the authority of 'Alqamah ibn Waqas, from 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray eleven rak'ahs of Witr, then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would pray seven rak'ahs of Witr and two rak'ahs sitting after the Witr and would recite (the Qur'an) in them. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intended to bow, he would stand up and perform the bowing and prostration.
(b) In the narration of Muhammad ibn 'Amr, it is stated that 'Alqamah ibn Waqas said: O Mother! How did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pray two rak'ahs?
(c) It is narrated on the authority of Hasan ibn Sa'd from Husham that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite {Say, "O disbelievers} and {When the earth is shaken} in them.

(٤٨٢١) علقمہ بن وقاص عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نو رکعات وتر پڑھتے، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سات رکعات وتر پڑھتے اور دو رکعات بیٹھ کر وتر کے بعد پڑھتے اور ان میں قرأت کرتے۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) رکوع کا ارادہ کرتے تو کھڑے ہوجاتے اور رکوع و سجود کرتے۔
(ب) محمد بن عمرو کی روایت میں ہے کہ علقمہ بن وقاص نے فرمایا : اے ماں ! نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) دو رکعات کیسے پڑھتے تھے۔
(ج) حضرت حسن سعد بن ہشام سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ان میں { قُلْ یَا أَیُّہَا الْکَافِرُونَ } وَ {إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ } پڑھا کرتے تھے۔
(4821) Alqama bin Waqas Ayesha (rz) se naql farmate hain ke Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) nau rakat witr parhte, phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) saat rakat witr parhte aur do rakat baith kar witr ke baad parhte aur in mein qirat karte. Jab aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ruku ka irada karte to kharay hojate aur ruku o sajd karte.
(b) Muhammad bin Amr ki riwayat mein hai ke Alqama bin Waqas ne farmaya: Aye maan! Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) do rakat kaise parhte thay.
(j) Hazrat Hassan Saad bin Hisham se naql farmate hain ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) in mein { Qul ya ayyuhal kafirun } wa { Iza zulzilat } parhte thay.
Hasan's mother, Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray two rak'ahs sitting after Witr.

(4822) Hasan ki walida Umme Salma (RA) se naql farmati hain ke Rasool Allah (SAW) witr ke bad do rakat baith kar parhte thay.
Abu Ghalib narrates from Abu Imamah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray two rak'ahs while sitting after Witr. In them, he would recite {إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ} (When the earth is shaken) and {قُلْ یَا أَیُّہَا الْکَافِرُونَ} (Say, "O disbelievers).

(4823) Abu Ghaalib Abu Imamah se naql farmaate hain keh Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) witr ke baad do rakat baith kar parhte thay. In mein {iza zulzilati} aur {qul ya ayyuhal kafirun} ki tilawat karte.
Qatadah narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray two rak'ahs sitting after the Witr prayer. He would recite Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Al-Zalzalah (When the earth is shaken...) in the first rak'ah, and Surah Al-Kafirun (Say: O disbelievers...) in the second rak'ah.

(٤٨٢٤) قتادہ حضرت انس بن مالک (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) وتر کے بعد دو رکعات بیٹھ کر پڑھتے تھے، ان میں ام القرآن یعنی سورت فاتحہ اور {إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ } پہلی رکعت میں اور { قُلْ یَا أَیُّہَا الْکَافِرُونَ } دوسری رکعت میں پڑھتے تھے۔
Qatadah Hazrat Anas bin Malik (RA) se naql farmate hain keh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) witr ke baad do rakat beth kar parhte thay, in mein Umm ul Quran yani Surah Fatiha aur {Iza Zulzilat } pehli rakat mein aur { Qul Ya Ayyuhal Kafiroon } dusri rakat mein parhte thay.
(4825) Jabir bin Nufair narrates from Thawban, the freed slave of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), that we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said: "There is hardship in travel. When one of you prays Witr, then he should pray two rak'ahs. If he wakes up at night, then good, otherwise these two rak'ahs will suffice for the night."
(B) Imam Ahmad says: "What is meant is two rak'ahs after Witr or two rak'ahs before Witr."

(٤٨٢٥) جبیر بن نفیر نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے آزاد کردہ غلام ثوبان سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ ایک سفر میں تھے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : سفر میں مشقت ہے۔ جب تم میں سے کوئی وتر پڑھے تو پھر دو رکعات ادا کرے، اگر وہ بیدار ہوجائے رات کو تو ٹھیک ورنہ یہ دو رکعات رات سے کفایت کر جائیں گی۔
(ب) امام احمد کہتے ہیں : وتر کے بعد دو رکعات یا وتر سے پہلے دو رکعات مراد ہیں۔
4825 Jubair bin Nufair Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke azad karda ghulam Sowban se naqal farmate hain ki hum Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath ek safar mein thay. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Safar mein mashaqqat hai. Jab tum mein se koi witr parhe to phir do rakat ada kare, agar wo bedar hojaye raat ko to theek warna ye do rakat raat se kafiyat kar jayengi. (b) Imam Ahmad kehte hain: Witr ke baad do rakat ya witr se pehle do rakat murad hain.
(4826) Thabit narrates from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray eleven rak'ahs of Witr. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) grew old and his body became heavy, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would pray seven rak'ahs of Witr and after that, he would pray two rak'ahs and recite Surah Ar-Rahman and Surah Al-Waqi'ah in them.
(b) Anas said: We used to recite {إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ } (When the earth is shaken) and { قُلْ یَا أَیُّہَا الْکَافِرُونَ } (Say: O disbelievers) in the shorter surahs (of the Qur'an).

(٤٨٢٦) ثابت بنانی انس بن مالک (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نو رکعات وتر پڑھتے تھے۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی عمر بڑھ گئی اور جسم بھاری ہوگیا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سات وتر پڑھتے اور اس کے بعد دو رکعات پڑھتے اور ان میں سورت ” الرحمن “ اور ” الواقعہ “ کی تلاوت فرماتے۔
(ب) انس فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم قصار مفصل میں سے {إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ } اور { قُلْ یَا أَیُّہَا الْکَافِرُونَ } پڑھتے تھے۔

(b) Anas farmate hain ke hum Qasar mufassal mein se { Iza Zulzilat } aur { Qul ya ayyuhal kafirun } parhte the.
