Chapter on the Virtue of Walking Far to the Mosque and Counting the Steps

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4978
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The one who travels the furthest distance to offer prayer will be granted the greatest reward from among the people. And the one who waits for the Imam to pray with him is more rewarding than the one who prays and then sleeps.”

(٤٩٧٨) ابو موسیٰ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : نماز کے لیے جتنی دور سے چل کر آیا جائے اتنا ہی وہ آدمی تمام لوگوں سے زیادہ اجر پائے گا اور وہ شخص اجر کے اعتبار سے زیادہ ہے جو امام کا انتظار کرتا ہے کہ اس کے ساتھ نماز پڑھے اس شخص سے جو نماز پڑھتا ہے اور سو جاتا ہے۔
(4978) Abu Musa (Razi Allahu Anhu) farmate hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Namaz ke liye jitni door se chal kar aaya jaye utna hi wo aadmi tamam logon se ziada ajr paye ga aur wo shakhs ajr ke aitbaar se ziada hai jo Imam ka intezar karta hai ki uske sath namaz parhe us shakhs se jo namaz parhta hai aur so jata hai.
Abu 'Uthman reported from Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that he knew a man from the people of Medina. His house was far from the mosque, yet he would attend prayers with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It was said to him: If you were to buy a donkey, you could ride it during the heat and darkness. He said: I dislike that my house be next to the mosque. The news of this reached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so you (O Messenger of Allah) asked him about it. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Then how will my footsteps be recorded, and my going back and forth to my family? Or as he said. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah will reward you for the distance you travel, and you will receive everything you intend.

(٤٩٧٩) ابو عثمان ابی بن کعب (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ میں ایک شخص کو جانتا ہوں جو مدینہ کا رہائشی تھا۔ اس کا گھر مسجد سے کافی دور تھا، لیکن وہ نمازوں میں نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ حاضر ہوتا تھا۔ اس سے کہا گیا : اگر آپ ایک گدھا خرید لیں تو گرمی اور اندھیرے میں اس پر سوار ہو کر آ جایا کریں۔ اس نے کہا : میں پسند نہیں کرتا کہ میرا گھر مسجد کے ساتھ ہو۔ اس کی خبر نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دی گئی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس سے پوچھا : اس نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! پھر میرے قدموں کے نشانات کیسے لکھے جائیں گے اور میرا اپنے گھر والوں کی طرف پلٹ کر جانا اور واپس آنا یا جیسے اس نے کہا، رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تیرے دور کے سفر کا اللہ تجھے اجر دے گا اور جو تیری نیت ہے سب کچھ تجھے ملے گا۔
(4979) Abu Usman Abi bin Kab se naqal farmate hain ke main aik shakhs ko janta hun jo Madina ka rehvashi tha. Uska ghar Masjid se kaafi door tha, lekin wo namaazon mein Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath hazir hota tha. Us se kaha gaya: Agar aap aik gadha kharid len to garmi aur andhere mein us par sawar ho kar aa jaya karen. Usne kaha: Main pasand nahin karta ke mera ghar Masjid ke sath ho. Uski khabar Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko di gayi to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne us se poocha: Usne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Phir mere qadmon ke nishanaat kaise likkhe jayenge aur mera apne ghar walon ki taraf palat kar jana aur wapas aana ya jaise usne kaha, Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tere door ke safar ka Allah tujhe ajr dega aur jo teri niyat hai sab kuch tujhe milega.
Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Banu Salima intended to change their homes from a distant place to near the Mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) disliked them vacating those houses. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Banu Salima! Don't you desire the reward for your footsteps?" They said: "Why not?" So they stayed there.

(٤٩٨٠) انس بن مالک (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ بنو سلیمہ نے ارادہ کیا کہ وہ اپنے دور کے گھر تبدیل کر کے مسجد کے قریب ہوجائیں تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو ناپسند کیا کہ تم ان گھروں کو خالی کرو اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اے بنو سلمہ ! کیا تم کو اپنے نشانات قدم کا ثواب نہیں چاہیے۔ انھوں نے کہا : کیوں نہیں تو انھوں نے وہاں ہی قیام کیا۔
(4980) Ans bin Malik (RA) farmate hain ki Banu Salima ne irada kiya ki woh apne door ke ghar tabdeel kar ke masjid ke qareeb hojaen to Nabi (SAW) ne is ko napasand kiya ki tum in gharon ko khali karo aur aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Ae Banu Salma! kya tum ko apne nishanat qadam ka sawab nahi chahiye. Unhon ne kaha: kyun nahi to unhon ne wahin qayam kiya.
Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Banu Salimah intended to move near the mosque, and there was vacant land. When it reached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he said, "O Banu Salimah! Stick to your dwellings; your footsteps will be recorded." So they stayed where they were and said, "We did not like to change our houses."

(٤٩٨١) جابر بن عبداللہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ بنو سلمہ نے مسجد کے قریب آنا چاہا اور جگہ بھی خالی تھی۔ یہ بات نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو پہنچی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اے بنو سلمہ ! تم اپنے گھروں کو لازم پکڑو، تمہارے نشانات قدم لکھے جائیں گے۔ وہ وہاں ہی ٹھہرے رہے اور انھوں نے کہا : ہمیں اس بات نے خوش نہیں کیا کہ ہم اپنے گھروں کو تبدیل کرلیں۔
4981 Jaber bin Abdullah (Razi Allah Anhu) farmate hain ke Banu Salma ne masjid ke qareeb aana chaha aur jaga bhi khali thi. Ye baat Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko pahunchi to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Aye Banu Salma! Tum apne gharon ko laazim pakdo, tumhare nishanaat qadam likhe jayenge. Wo wahan hi thehre rahe aur unhon ne kaha: Hamein is baat ne khush nahi kiya ke hum apne gharon ko tabdeel kar lein.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The reward for going from one's house to the mosque increases with the distance."

(٤٩٨٢) ابوہریرہ (رض) نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ مسجد سے گھروں کا دور ہونا بڑے اجر کا سبب ہے۔
(4982) Abu Hurairah (RA) Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se naql farmate hain ki masjid se gharon ka door hona bade ajr ka sabab hai.
